Harry Truman, our 33rd president, cherished the tranquility of Key West. 
Ernest Hemingway Cottage:

  You can imagine "Papa" pounding out The Snows of Kilimanjaro or For Whom the Bell Tolls on the old typewriter that sits on the desk. Hemingway won the 1954 Nobel Prize for Literature. This cottage has a living room with a day bed, a bedroom with a queen bed, and full kitchen and bath.
Margaret Truman Room:   
This room can be combined with The Harry Truman Room to form a suite.

Thornton Wilder is the author of The Matchmaker, on which Hello Dolly was based, and the very popular Our Town and The Skin of Our Teeth. The Wilder Room, the largest in the main house, provides a very elegant setting.
John James Audubon Room:   
This room can be combined with The Thornton Wilder Room to form a suite.

John James Audubon was one of the most renowned residents of the Florida Keys and author of Audubon's Florida. James Kirkwood Room:

James Kirkwood co-authored the musical, A Chorus Line. While relaxing in these cozy tropical surroundings, enjoy reading one of Kirkwood's many plays or novels.

James Leo Herlihy, author of Midnight Cowboy, acquired an intense love of Key West and used it as a setting for many of his short stories. Small refrigerator in room.

Carson McCullers was only 23 when her first novel, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, became a literary sensation. This bright, white wicker room combines a compact interior with a small outdoor seating area. Small refrigerator in room.

Lillian Hellman, one of America's leading female playwrights, is best known for such classics as The Little Foxes, The Children's Hour, and Watch on the Rhine. Small refrigerator in room.

Originally part of the residence quarters, Artists Room is a lovely sunny yellow with crown molding and semi private deck. Small
