Review The Sandpiper, Truro, MA

Photo Album

The distinctive "Heaven’s Gate" sculpture near the entrance to The Sandpiper, created by a Wellfleet artist, is typical of the extraordinary artistic features that abound -- indoors and out.The main bedroom has a fruitwood Queen bed and mirrored triple-dresser, private outside entry, wrap-around views, and access to the patio and floating sphere fountain. The suite has one and a one-half baths.
The parlor room features a comfortable, double sofa bed, a twin-size sleigh bed, an antique doll collection, outdoor patio and fountain, and tranquil wooded views.Breakfast is served on an antique Chinese calligraphy table, in the company of numerous Inuit sculptures and paintings by renowned Provincetown artists like Ann Packard and John Cardinal.
The suite opens onto a tranquil meditation garden with a commissioned, floating-sphere fountain cast in concrete by a Wellfleet sculptor. The garden is enfolded by pines, heather, sweet fern, Lilly of the Valley and a flowering Japanese cherry tree. The soft splashing of water as it slips down the floating sphere will be the soothing lullaby you will hear as you drift into sleep each night.
Tiered mahogany decks where you will want to barbecue and picnic overlook three cascading ponds-- linked by waterfalls and home to dozens of koi and exotic goldfish.Provincetown skyline from The Sandpiper.
