An expanded continental breakfast is served each morning in our dining room. We serve coffee/tea/juice and freshly baked bagles, scones and muffins. We also have fresh fruit and various yogurts as well as locally produced jams. This is the Cedar Hill Room which has a queen size bed and a private bath. It faces the front facade and has ample closet and bureau space. Both our rooms have 60 channel cable TV and Wi-Fi access to the broadband from our network.
This is the Haydenville Room--the smaller of our two guest rooms. Here you'll find a full-size bed. Like the other room, it has a private bath, ample closet and bureau space, a 60 channel cable TV and access to our Wi-Fi network. This shows the HGTV Restore America film crew filming Susan Searle of Period Gardens. Susan has designed all of our gardens to be correct for the time the house was built--1865.
A view of our living room looking towards the dining room. Our kitchen has also been restored during the major renovations, but we did keep the 1860s era built in cabinet shown here at the far end.
Our 3-season porch is a perfect place to read a book or let Calvin [our cat] decide if he wants to play with you. Calvin is a polydactyl cat--a cat with extra digits [look like thumbs] and he loves to play with the guests. He also likes to try to escape as well. He is an inside cat, though he'll try to convince you otherwise. The rail trail side of the house has a stone patio with a table and chairs. It is the perfect place to sit and watch people pass by or chat with folks people in our relaxing pre-Civil-War era neigbhorhood.
The 'garden bike' on our front lawn lights-up a night to be guide to guests coming at night. "LOOK FOR THE LIT-UP BIKE!"This is view of the house from the driveway side showing a bit of our gardens.
