January, 2008, cold outside but cozy inside! A romantic, elegant inn, perfect for a winter stay. Check web site for winter getaway deals. Many rooms have fireplaces and guests of the Inn ski free at the owner's cross country ski center at Hilltop Orchards Newly redesigned Room 15 with king size bed, writing desk, fireplace, flat panel cable TV and private balcony.
A full country breakfast buffet is provided including fresh and dried fruit, yogurt, breads, muffins, sausage, bacon, juices, coffee and a selection of teas. The staff will take your order for the chef's specialties including French toast, Belgium waffles or your choice of eggs cooked-to-order. The Inn supports local farms and producers.Sitting area of Suite 12 shown here including a 32" flat panel TV, pull-out sofa and mini fridge. The suite is located above Suite 10 on the second floor with it's own private entrance. These most spacious accommodations in the Inn include a master bedroom with queen bed and second bedroom with two twin beds, bathroom and private balcony.
The front of the Inn is the most historic, dating back to 1780. The Inn maintains its historic pedigree yet is updated with modern amentities and is beautifully furnished to make your stay comfortable. The three gables on the front lend to the current name. A history of the Inn is located on the website.This common room, off the main foyer, has a dining/conference table, piano, fireplace and sitting area with library. WiFi throughout the Inn means you can keep in touch while on vacation.
Room #14 is newly remodeled with a king size hand-carved four poster bed, crisp Egyptian cotton sheets, sitting area with fireplace and private balcony. Guests are invited to the Sherry Room each afternoon for a complimentary aperitif. This room is original to the 1780 cottage and is a favorite among guests who like to relax with a good book or chess game.
Breakfast is served in the Inn's dining room and enclosed wrap-around porch. A lavish buffet is included each morning plus cooked-to-order specialties prepared by the Inn's chef. Guests can make a reservation to dine at the Inn during the summer months when the chef prepares four-course dinners.The Inn has four bright cottage rooms steps from the front entrance with views of the gardens and manicured grounds. All have brick surround fireplaces and king size beds. Two of them have king beds that can be converted to two twins.
Your own private spa in the Berkshires is at The Garden Gables Inn. The dedicated spa treatment room has a full bath and is a tranquil respite yet convenient for Inn guests.Suite 10 features a private entrance into a study with closets, a desk and pull-out sofa. The bedroom, shown in photo, includes a large sitting area with windows overlooking the grounds. A fireplace and flat panel LCD TV and French doors leading to a private terrace makes this one of the best accommodations in the Berkshires. The bathroom has a glass enclosed shower and clawfoot tub. This suite has lots of closet space, making it ideal for longer stays.
The McIntosh Cottage (Room #16) - like the other three cottage rooms -- features skylit cathedral ceilings which bring in the natural light.  The stone fireplaces give warmth and atmosphere on cooler nights. All cottage rooms have king size beds, sitting areas, full baths, flat panel LCD TVs with DVD player, iPod clock radios and amenities found in all rooms including spa robes, Aveda products and WiFi. Guests in this cottage and in the Cortland Cottage (room 18) have the option of requesting two twin beds instead of the king bed at time of booking.The Inn's owners live and work on their 200 acre Hilltop Orchards farm in nearby Richmond. Inn guests are treated to free wine tasting of their award-winning Furnace Brook Wines, free hiking and cross country/snowshoe skiing in season.
