Built in 1941, this cozy retreat is the perfect place to celebrate an anniversary, birthday or honeymoon. Located 3 short blocks from Marktplatz, Lillie Marlene is within a short walk to shopping and the many festivals that take place in downtown Fredericksburg. In the morning relax & sleep in late if you like-then when you are ready enjoy the seasonal fruit & array of tasty items included with the traditional German breakfast in the charming & fully equipped kitchen. Spend warm Texas evenings on the porch swing, or curled up in front of the fireplace when the air turns crisp in the Hill Country. Lillie Marlene is allergy sensitive and does not utilize chlorine-based, pine oil or heavily scented cleaners. You will not find goose down or feathers and bed linen is sun dried when weather permits. Pets are not allowed. Regrettably, there are no accommodations for children. A 10% military discount is offered with valid military ID upon check-in. Mid-week reduced rates are available. The bath is equipped with a tub and shower and pedestal sink all in pristine white. Enjoy an array of toiletries and all the "extras" like highest quality linen, bath accessories, hair dryer, curling iron and plenty of space for your own items. The cozy living room at Lillie Marlene is decorated in soft green, lavender and white. Curl up with a good book or enjoy a movie and a glass of wine from one of the many area wineries. The room is furnished with an antique pump organ among other family hierlooms.
Breakfast is at your own leisure and in total privacy as you have total control of the guesthouse and your time. A German breakfast is waiting for you plus full breakfast fixings in the quaint kitchen. Breakfast also includes fresh fruit or melon, breakfast pastries, a selection of teas and coffees, milk, juice and cocoa. You will also find fresh yard eggs brought in from the country if you should decide that is to your liking. The kitchen is done in soft gray and pure white with touches of copper. Seasonal dishes and fresh flowers await you along with a welcome treat and ice cold beverages upon arrival. The kitchen is fully equipped with coffeemaker, microwave, fridge, toaster and a reproduction wood stove that has been converted to electric for easy use. The best part of the kitchen is that is comes with a built-in maid--we do the dishes for you!
