This amazing B&B has been lovingly and meticulously restored to period perfection. The house and grounds are breath-taking. The owners are very knowledgeable about period restoration, the history of their home in particular, real estate, and everything that is going on locally. They gave us a great tour of the manor, its accompanying rear cottage, and the garden. The gorgeous marble conservatory (which had tons of windows, a stained glass ceiling, and a view of the pretty and immaculately kept back garden) was the setting for breakfast- which was delicious but not tailored to our diet restrictions (so meat was needlessly wasted). A gorgeous player piano filled the house with music in the early evening as wine and cheese were served in the large, beautiful, modern, marble kitchen in the back. Snacks, a refrigerator, a washer, dryer, and ironing board/iron were available in a utility room. And you can take advantage of several common-area rooms. The location was great for accessing anything downtown. Caveats: While our room had a private bath, not all rooms do; no one made our bed or emptied trash while we were away from our room; rooms (or at least ours) did not include a TV (we didn't care, but others may, so I mention it); and the neighborhood was sketchy (but we felt safe because the manor had a separate walled-off parking lot in back and the house itself had a security alarm). My wife and I are relocating to Columbus, and we had a terrific introduction to the city during our recent stay at The Garden Manor. This is a truly remarkable late 19th-century home that has played an important and varied role in the city's history -- serving first as home to an early innovator in x-ray technology and then as a prestigious way station for jazz greats visiting the city in the 1930s and 40s.
We stayed in the inn's guest house, which is a fully equipped suite located just across an exquisite courtyard garden from the main building. Complete with its own kitchen and barrel-vaulted, wood-paneled study, the guest house offers a secluded haven in the midst of a bustling urban neighborhood.
The inn as a whole has been impeccably and beautifully restored to its original grandeur. Every room is a treasure with imported marble mantles, intricately carved mahogany paneling, a variety of original artwork. What's more, the owners, Al Waddell and Allen Baker. are the most gracious hosts we have ever encountered in our years of staying in bed and breakfasts. Their conversation was delightful, and their knowledge of the city and its history positively encyclopedic.
Last but certainly not least, the food was terrific, from freshly baked chocolate chip cookies to a delectable egg and cheese breakfast casserole.
You do not want to miss the fantastic experience this fine historic manor and its proprietors have to offer. View Reviewer Info

Victorian is the theme and decor of Garden Manor. When you walk into the B&B, you feel as you have walked into another world.
The house itself has a calming and peaceful effect. It's gorgeous with it's period lighting fixtures, draperies, pictures, furniture, molding, wood work, paint colors. Each piece placed in the house is intentional and well balanced. No clutter objects.
Garden Manor, the house itself, has rooms for every mood; if you want to cozy up with a book, there's the reading room, if you want a room filled with windows to gaze out to the garden, there's one. If you just want to relax and listen to soft music, there's the parlor.
The 3 rooms are stunning and comfortable, each with it's own unique color arrangements and pieces of furniture. The bathrooms are clean and bright.
The breakfast itself has a array of delicious dishes that meet every food group, even one for sweet tooths
Afternoon complimentary snacks and drinks are served.
Even though Garden Manor takes you back 150 years, the house is up to spec in regards to electrical, plumbing, heating and the kitchen.
Our hosts, Allen and Al were gracious and helpful; making reservations with restaurants and theatre, providing information on everything that Columbus has to offer, and with every thought of giving their guests the best possible experience.
My husband and I were able to stay 2 nights with the spend 1 night and get the second half off special.
In conclusion, The Garden Manor is the only B&B my husband and I will use in the future.

My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights at the Garden Manor Inn, and we had an amazing time. Each room was immaculately decorated, and we greatly enjoyed the rich history and energy put into restoring such a beautiful house. Our hosts, Al and Allen, were delightful. We enjoyed their hospitality – wine and cheese social hour where we got to meet other guests, fresh baked cookies after we came home for the evening, and a delicious breakfast each morning. Since we didn’t know our way around, they printed us directions, recommended restaurants, and were extremely helpful in suggesting local attractions. And, did I mention how beautiful our room was? We stayed in the Madry room, named after one of the previous owners. We stay in a lot of B&B’s all over the US, and this was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. Thank you Al and Allen! The home was absolutely stellar. We were met my our hosts who were incredibly hospitable, pleasant and professional. Strawberrys, cheese, grapes, and wine were available on the counter in the kitchen. The hosts, own an incredible historic home just east of downtown Columbus and the tour they gave us was presented well and maintained our interest. Our room was fantastic and very comfortable. The hosts had recommended a restaurant 1 mile away called the Black Creek Bistro which was excellent. The breakfast was, again, terrific with an egg/potato casserole, bacon, fruit, juice and coffee. We have placed this gem of a place on our list of recommended places, for not only my wife and I to return, but for others to experience as well. Bravo! View Reviewer Info
