All I have to say is this place is awesome for a wedding, conference, or meeting! I was down there in November for a 2 day seminar and it was by far one of the best stays I have ever had! Martin and his family are extremely accommodating and genuine and I couldn't have asked for a better 2 days (and it RAINED the whole time)! 5 stars for the Mankin Mansion!

I was fortunate to attend a small professional group meeting at Mankin and it was just fabulous. The Innkeepers, Martin and Paula Ramirez, are just the nicest hosts ever. Paula's breakfast is a culinary adventure to start each day and the downstairs game room is setup for darts, pool, foosball, poker, and other things. One of the best things about the Mansion is that it is situated near the airport and plenty of shopping, yet isolated from the noise and activity of the same. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend the Mankin Mansion.

Hat's off to Martin and his staff for providing us with a relaxed, yet professional facility for our small group. Each morning, we were treated to a gourmet breakfast that was presented with all of the mansion's southern hospitality. Once the business of the day had ended, the game room offered a little something for everyone. The grounds of this facility are stunning, offering the perfect location for a wedding reception. There is no questions that I will be visiting this facility for a "personal get-a-way" with my wife in the near future.

The property was absolutely amazing as we pulled in. Historic, clean, and well manicured. The grounds were well kept with attention to detail. Lots of elegance to point your camera at. We had privacy when we wanted it, and had service when we needed it. This home away from home was tucked in the middle of nowhere right around the corner from everything you'd want downtown. 5 out 5 stars.

We enjoyed our stay in the Carriage House. The owners were delightful...bringing a delicious breakfast to our room each morning. A well-equipped game room was also made available for guest use. They even packed a travel bag with snacks and water when we left! This would be a wonderful place to have a wedding!

I was very doubtful that I'd find a place in Richmond to fit all of my wedding dreams. Surprisingly, Mankin Mansion met them all!! My husband and I wanted an "all-in-one" type of place and we got just that. The mansion allowed us to have our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, and reception without driving around different parts of Richmond. What's even better is that they had enough space for us to house all of our out of town wedding attendants for the entire weekend; creating a real bed and breakfast feel for us and our friends. They took such special care of every detail and made the entire weekend relaxing, beautiful and unforgettable! I cannot give the mansion staff enough praise! Paula and Martin obviously know what they're doing and Marylee has to be one of the sweetest ladies on this earth. They made the weekend come together with what appeared to be very little effort.

Our son and daughter-in-law chose Mankin Mansion for their wedding site. The grounds are spacious and beautiful. We could actually hear during the outdoor wedding. Martin is experienced and pays attention to the sound detail. Family members came from all over the country so it was great to have a place to congregate and visit the day before and morning after the wedding. Martin and Paula's hospitality was outstanding. They are also very organized which helped us stay calm and collected. Great Place!

My new bride and I stayed here on our honeymoon. The setting is beautiful. The rooms were beautifully furnished. The owners delivered an elaborate home-cooked breakfast to our room in the morning. I could not be happier - all for a price equivalent to some mediocre, sterile motel! I would highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast!

Our stay at Mankin Mansion was all too short . . . such beautiful grounds, charming accommodations (we stayed in the gardener's cottage) . . . a truly different experience . . and our host was helpful and knowledgeable about the area, without being intrusive . . this is a romantic and relaxing environment, unbelievably only minutes from the airport . . treat yourself and enjoy.

We celebrated our 30th anniversary with a one night getaway to this lovely B&B close to home. When making the reservation, we inquired about the possibility of a quiet spot on the grounds for a picnic. Never did we expect the delightful setting Martin and Paula provided, with a table under the pergola by the fountain, twinkling lights above, candlelight, and romantic music. It could not have been more perfect. Afterward, we took a twilight stroll around the beautifully restored property, imagining the weddings there. We stayed in the very comfortable carriage house, which is tucked away in a quiet corner with privacy. In the morning, we were greeted by our gracious hosts with a delicious, full breakfast and the newspaper. They have thought of everything. Being there only one night, we did not have time to take advantage of the many amenities such as the fun game room and the pillow room for watching movies. We are spreading the word about this wonderful place.

We stayed at historic Mankin Mansion on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, and it was wonderful. Paula and Martin make you feel so welcome and they pamper you. The grounds are beautiful, the Carriage House had everything you could possibly need (including a first aid kit!); we were very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and beautiful; they sent us away with delicious snacks for the road - that was so thoughtful. If you're in Richmond, stay here. Paula gave us some good recommendations and precise and easy to follow driving directions. Thank you, Paula and Martin. - James and Sherry

To whom it may concern, The Camping Party is more than happy to leave our comments on this site about the Historic Mankin Mansion. The Camping Party is Rob and Tammy Dungee. We are Event Planners and Caterers. Last year we needed a quiet place to have a week end meeting with couple we now hire as support on some of our events. We booked the Farmers Cottage. They had a bed room and Tammy an I did too with a full kitchen and living room space to relax and get to know each other better. We take pride in planning what we call the “Family Reunion Format” for our events and we used the same format for our weekend at the Historic Mankin Mansion. Check in on Friday was handle with style and grace by Martin Ramirez. Breakfast was delightful, filling and healthy. Grocery stores close by and everything you need in a kitchen allowed for us to whip up a meal for the rest of the day. We loved it so much that, we booked the entire Bed and Breakfast again for a larger business meeting. Feel free to contact us for more about our stay.

I traveled to Richmond for business and decided to try something different. I travel quite a bit and always stay at either a Marriott or Westin. It was a refreshing change to stay at an intimate and comfortable B&B. The grounds are fantastic and I can only imagine what a great place it is for a wedding. I will definitely stay here on my next trip to Richmond.

Stayed for one night on business in Richmond. Location is convenient to central Richmond but in a quiet neighborhood. Setting is relaxed and cozy. Stayed in the Farmer's Cottage which was just beautiful. The breakfast that was brought to the cottage in the morning was scrumptious! Owners are very professional and a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend Mankin Mansion.

Mankin Mansion is a wonderful getaway for us. We live in the area, and absolutely love going. Martin and Paula (the proprietors) go out of their way to make sure everything you could ever need is provided. The rooms are beautiful and luxurious. The cottages are beautiful, plush and luxurious. Fresh breakfast in the mornings prepared and ready when you are. Breakfast is so delicious! The game room has so many activities to do. You feel so pampered from the moment you arrive. It’s hard to believe how close you are to downtown Richmond, the airport and the interstate. We love visiting and can’t wait till we go again. I would recommend this to anyone, whether they need a getaway, a place to stay or are planning a Wedding. Martin and Paula make it a time to cherish!
