wish we could have stayed longer! we came to see the beach, tide pools, and maybe a whale. no whale sightings, but the drive along hwy 1, the beach in cambria at low tide, and the boardwalk along moonstone beach were just wonderful. our stay at the dreydon house was great too. The rooms were comfortable, we had everything we needed, and the house keepers were friendly and accessible. with this rental you get two bedrooms - a queen bed in one room with a private entrance, as well as a room with 2 twin beds, a microwave, fridge and access to a patio with a grill. had no idea we'd have all that space. the neat thing is - if you bring more people with you, the price doesn't go up. what a great value if you are traveling with another couple, family, or kids! This was a neat little find away from the hustle and bustle of a city. cant wait to go back again:)

We recently returned to stay at the Dreydon House. The one-on-one service by Bill and Janis make you feel at home. We noticed that they keep on adding new things. This time we had access to cable TV and a tranquil patio sitting area. If you are lucky to book a night here, you will not be disappointed!

This was our first bed and breakfast and I was so happy with our decision to stay here! Bill and Janis are so knowledgable of the area and things to do and see. We took walks in the morning and the deer are just walking around the streets! It is the most amazing thing! We got within 15 feet of them. Breakfast was phenomenal, our rooms were clean and private with our own little entry off of both rooms. My daughter had a refrigerator, microwave, TV and her own patio..she thought she was in heaven. I definately would come back here again. The price was a steal and the hosts are the nicest people you will ever meet! We went in September, weather was cold but we fished and visited the local attractions. You must see elephant seal beach!

Bill and Janis are exceptional hosts who make you feel like you're right at home. The use of two bedrooms and a private bathroom is great! My teenage son's thought that this was one of their favorite vacations. So I'm going to report to you what they said. They "like the Hearst Castle", but I think when they said, " I like staying at the Dreydon House better than a hotel", that says it all. We are a close family so we enjoyed watching TV and using the DVD to learn more about Hearst Castle. This was our first B&B, and we had a good time. Bill and Janis were very good hosts. We felt very comfortable in their house. We had privacy in the lower rooms. They had emenities like the hotels, some of the nicer hotels, with gourmet coffee, microwave and frig in room, plus a bonus of movies and books. The breakfasts were fantastic, as well as the price. We would definately stay there again.

My family and I had a great stay at the Dreydon House. Our rooms and bathroom were clean, and we had our own entrance to the house. Bill and Janis are really nice and are so much fun to talk to. The price was a great deal, can't be beat. The house was clean and cozy, with emenities like a hotel,(Coffee,tea,creamer,sugar,blowdryer,soap,shampoo and conditioner and they change the towels daily.) The Breakfasts are wonderful. They are very accomadating with the menu and the time you want breakfast. You are made to feel special, like friends staying over. They are friendly and will give you information about the area, and other things to see and do. This is my first B&B, and I will not be hesitant to try it again. When I go back to Heast Castle I will probably see if we can stay there again. I'm glad they had extra blankets in the room, because it did get colder in the room that had only one bed. They also provided DVD movies,books, and you have internet access. The movie on the Hearst Castle was very interesting. I had a very relaxing vacation. The hosts were very accomadating. There are a few things I think they needed, which would be a front door mat outside the room. I don't want to get their house dirty. To supply more toilet paper, we only ran out on the last day. More is better. Maybe a 2nd TV. Our kids didn't care, but some might care in sharing the TV.

We only stayed over night as we were travelling up the coast to San Jose. Bill and Janis were lovely and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. Great choice of DVDs and TV to watch. Lots of deer roaming around in the evening when we headed down to the beach. Elephant seals just 10 miles up the coast, it was truly a beautiful area. If I had one request it would be that the double bed mattress/springs were in need of replacement as they were very noisy even when just sitting on the bed.

Bill and Janis were warm, welcoming, and made us feel very much at home. We especially appreciated how very family-friendly they were! Our four year old loving drinking her tea from a real tea-cup which Janis understandingly provided. The library of family movies was lovely, and the food was fabulous. I enjoyed the gluten-free pancakes which Bill and Janis drove out to get when we arrived! We will warmly encourage friends and family to stay at Dreydon House and hope to return some time.

We did not expect the Taj Mahal at this reasonable price, but when we arrived we were nevertheless very disappointed. The rooms were small and shabby-looking--which we would not have minded since it was inexpensive, but the carpet needed cleaning and the bedspreads as well. The bathroom was dirty, especially the floor (dirt, hair, stains), and had half-removed wallpaper and dozens of half-used bath products left behind by previous guests. We would not recommend this place to other guests regardless of price.

We absolutely enjoyed staying at the Dreydon House. The rooms and cleanliness exceeded our expectations, Bill and Janis were friendly hosts, and also great cooks. We especially appreciated the proximity to the beach, Fiscalini Ranch Perserve, and the East Village. The home is nestled in a quiet, tree-covered community. We even spotted a herd of deer. This is a Cambria "must stay".

We were made to feel almost like family from our arrival to our departure. We had discussed our grandson's food allergy when we made the reservation and their dinner dining suggestion could accommodate that situation and ended up being top notch.
