Mount Morris House
The House, built in 1888 at the height of New York's Gilded Age, is a fine example of that period's splendid architecture. The luxurious and extravagant life-style of New York's wealthy at the turn of the 20th century is reflected in the building's sumptuous materials, precious woods, intricate carvings, gilding and plaster moldings, very generous proportions of living spaces, high ceilings, numerous and ample closet spaces, and every imaginable amenity.
Situated on Mount Morris Park, one of New York's landmark neighborhoods included in the National Register of Historic Places, the House has been meticulously restored with great respect for its original details and attention to all modern amenities. It has five bedroom suites with private baths and separate dressing rooms, winter and summer sitting rooms, ballroom, dinning room and garden.
All rooms have working wood-burning fireplaces, cable television, DVD players, radio and alarm clocks and WiFi. There is in-house laundry service and maid service and full breakfast is served daily. Quiet and sunny, with great vistas of Mount Morris Park and a proprietor who is always ready to share his 30-year knowledge of New York life, it offers its guests an unforgettable experience of luxurious accommodation and personal care.
