These days, we all need to look for value. I found it at Pacific Mist. The rooms are much larger than most others in the area, and the bathrooms have all been recently updated. The Spa in the woods is a special added value treat. And the optional breakfast at their sister 5 star restaurant is probably the best on the coast. If you are looking for value and relaxation, this is the place to go.

While we didn't stay in the off-site beachfront home, the bungalows are serene and in a lush forested setting with the constant sound of the ocean in the distance. Staff was accomodating and enthusiastic (say Hi to Amanda for us). Our off season visit lacked the wine tasting or hot-tub, but the willingness to negotiate a reasonable price was most welcomed. Quiet grounds and rustic cabins with good spiritual energy. What more could a couple want. Everything needed is merely a few minute drive away. Opt for the Serenity cabin if you want a great bungalow to yourself and a second bathroom with Jacuzzi tub for one. Gas log fireplaces are great and cozy even on these chilly nights. The cabins are rustic, yet show cleanliness and nice touches in the upgrades done over the past year or so. A great quiet retreat! Enjoy, Mark & Nancy

This is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are cozy. The fireplace will keep you toasty warm. The people so friendly. And it is nice to have the kitchenette! Pet friendly makes this even better!

I stayed at the Pacific Mist in June 2008 while visiting California for a friend's wedding. The staff made me feel so welcome, and provided much helpful information about the area. The rooms were sooooo cozy and the mattresses were seriously more comfortable than any I have been on before. Loved it and can't wait to go back!!

My wife and I went to the Pacific Mist for our anniversary and loved the place. We found it online and decided to book a King room, however, when we got there, we had been upgraded to the whole cabin! They dont have a restaurant, but did recommend a great one down the road. We will definitely be back.

I go to the coast on business and recently stayed at the Pacific Mist Inn. I found the room clean, comfortable and relaxing. This area is one of the nicest on the Mendocino coast and will stay at the Inn again on our next trip.

We have been going to mendocino for many years. This was the first time we stayed at Pacific Mist. For us, the stay was perfect. We go to get away from the heat and the hustle of the City. What we found was true relaxation, yet an attentive staff when you wanted it. Not a true bed and breakfast, but when you get a King room or full cabin you get a kitchen, so when we wanted to sleep in and have coffee and a danish, it was just perfect. The manager is great, and we had a great time meeting our neighbors at wine hour. At dusk we never heard so many birds, and later were treated with a family of deer. Right before bed we soaked in the spa in the woods, and never slept so peacefully. It was so quiet. We will be back next time!

traveling with my dog is always an adventure... if she likes a place, so do I and she loves it here... it is doggie heaven to her because there is lots of greenery to sniff and explore, plus I love the peacefulness, proximity to the beach and other places, it is extremely relaxing and has all of the amenities of home and more... the staff is very friendly and they gave us chocolates and treats, plus hot tub towels... there is a fireplace, it is all very cozy... the zen cabin has a tinkling water fountain outside and lovely flowers blooming... who could ask for anything more?

I was here two years ago and it was so so...now under new managment the place is wonderful. The staff attended to all our needs and made great recommendations on where to eat and site see. The room were large and very clean. I would recommend Pacific Mist for a family as there is room to let the kids roam. We brought our dog and was pleasently surprised to find they were dog friendly.

My fiancee surprised me by driving to a not so far place in Little River. It was a cabin on a cliff side with the most majestic view. Along with the quiet romantic weekend we enjoyed snuggled up to the fireplace (was a dream come true), we spent our share of time in the peaceful hottub that is private as well as overlooks the gorgeuos Pacific Ocean. It is definitely a must for any weekend traveler looking for a nice getaway.

I travel every where with my dogs. They are my life. Most places even thought they advertise pet friendly they really are not. At pacific mist since the cabins are far apart from another you never feel you are intruding on a neigbor, and your dogs will love the acreage to roam and play. Plus the beach at Mendocino is only 5 minutes away. I found the staff attentive and helpful and me and my dogs found the place we could truly be at home.

My wife and I absolutely love Mendocino, but we rarely get the opportunity to go up there. The mix of our two year old son and our two little Jack Russel dogs usually put us on caution for spending good money on a nice weekend. But we had enough of the mundane, and we decided it was time to start researching a resort up there that had everything we needed - like pet friendly, baby friendly, and most of all a place that offered some seclusion. It was my job to find this perfect combo ... and boy did I do a good job! We found a resort called Pacific Mist Inn that offered the seclusion and the family/pet friendly environment. I had such a good feeling about the place, because I called to ask a few questions like was there an ocean view (yes there is), was it safe (yes it was), and what was their pet policy (just another $20 per pet & some common courtesies like putting a pet blanket on the furniture, and using doggie bags for the poop on walks). Anyhow the Inn Manager's name was Jen, and she was SO attentive and responsive on the phone, that I just knew it was a good fit. Our weekend there was filled with sun, clouds, coffee, and smiles :) Mendocino has such amazing character - I love the rolling hills that go straight into the ocean. Since we had our son and dogs there, I knew I wanted to just cook (BBQ) on the premise rather than trying to do some sit down dinner there. Jen gave us our briquettes, and I was on my way with some meat that I bought in the little town of Mendocino. It was great - I played soccer with my son on the lawn, my wife was able to read, and my dinner was on a slow cook cycle on the BBQ. So I think it's pretty obvious - Pacific Mist Inn rocks :) We will definitely be going back this summer. I found out at the end of our trip that Jen was actually part owner - which is a plus because she was just awesome! She just made our stay so relaxing. Until next time ...

Pacific Mist is for me the best of both worlds. You have all of your privacy you would want, yet with the small size of the inn, you also get great individual attention on the local sites as well as a free wine tasting and chocolates! All though they don't serve breakfast, there is a great restaurant less than 2 minutes away, and since we got a whole cabin, we were able to make our own breakfast and coffee on a morning we wanted to just hang out on the deck watch the view and relax. If you go to mendocino and truly want a relaxing time, go to pacific mist. I will be back.
