We stayed in the cottage -- a delightful experience. The cottage is nestled in a wooded setting giving us much appreciated solitude and privacy sprinkled with the sounds and sights of nature. Very comfortable & cleean accommodations.

Peaceful Haven's Sanctuary Cottage was a cozy "home away from home" for my family. Though a small cottage, the layout was great with the kitchen over looking the living room. We especially enjoyed the screened-in porch, BBQ on the deck and doing a weiner and marshmallow roast on the bonfire pit provided for us. Our hostess, Rachel, made sure we had everything we needed and exceeded our expectations by providing homemade muffins for the car, gourmet coffee, kindling for the fire and even a thermometer when our little boy fell ill. If you love peace and quiet of being the wilderness, but prefer not to sleep in a tent, Sanctuary Cottage is the place for you.

Our arrival was later than originally anticipated but Rachel greeted us graciously and was nonetheless warm, friendly and accomodating. I am pretty funny about safety issues when traveling and I didn't even need to ask - Rachel took the initiative to point out everything from where to find flashlights in the event of loss of electricity to where we would find the fire-escape ladder if need be! (I've stayed in other B&B's and these important issues were never addressed unless I inquired!) Our bath and bedroom was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated and the beds were comfy, cozy. We loved the little extra touches such as the brownies, lemonade and coffee/tea always available and having a refrigerator (stocked with bottled water and juice) and microwave in our room. We also appreciated Rachel's flexibility when we asked to have breakfast on the porch to enjoy the quiet peacefuness of the early morning. She definately has a servant's spirit and the gift of hospitality! We did indeed arrive as strangers but felt we left as friends! :-)

My husband and I stayed at Peaceful Haven for three nights. Each night Rachel had cookies or brownies for us and the hot water pot was always full for my tea. (There is a coffee maker in the foyer too, but I don't drink coffee. Didn't want the coffee drinkers to think they'd been forgotten!) The room was cosy and beautifully decorated. We also had a small refrigerator and microwave in the room - something that we have never had before in any B&B in which we've stayed. Rachel and John are the friendliest people! They are certainly in the right business. They advised us on things to do and even happily came out of their private quarters to tell us where we could go to eat dinner when the place we'd intended to go turned out to be closed that evening. The breakfasts were great and Rachel couldn't be a better hostess. We chatted like old friends after only a very short time. I'd highly recommend this B&B and the fantastic folks who go with it!

(coffee and tea in the foyer, room heating remote control in our room, snack food, drinks in our room, high chair and playpen) Breakfast was incredible. We will definitely stay at your B&B again. Parking was a breeze, you were so knowledgeable about the area, it made our trip to appointments at Strong Memorial Hospital very easy.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this bed and breakfast. It is located on a quiet street in a historic village in upstate NY. I was able to go for several pleasant walks around the neighborhood. The key advantage of this bed and breakfast is the service. The owners want your stay to be what you want it to be and are very willing to adjust their role as hosts to fit with your objectives for your visit. If you are looking for an traditional victorian home in a small quiet village in the Finger Lakes area of upstate NY, then this is your place.

We spent a night at John and Rachel's Bed and Breakfast while scouting the area for our wedding this coming summer. We spent the days at some of the finest establishments on the finger lakes. A Peaceful Haven was the perfect end to those hectic days. The rooms were beautiful. The food, simply wonderful. We loved it there.

This is a charming Victorian home with modern updates. My room was beautifully furnished and had a very comfortable bed. I really appreciated the thick, fluffy towels in the private bath. Breakfast each day was always a wonderful surprise with offerings ranging from eggs to French toast to Belgian waffles. If you like oatmeal (or even if you don't), ask Rachel to prepare her baked oatmeal with apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Most of all, I appreciated the warm hospitality of Rachel, John, and their family. They are very special people. Having been a guest in many B and B,s around the world, I found this to be one of the best.
