Located on the east shore of Cayuga Lake, this Inn also once provided Seward (of Seward's Folly) a place to stay. The room (we had Number 1) was spacious and comfortable.
Because we were the only occupants that Monday night, service was very personal, friendly, and efficient. Breakfast was prepared to order and served in what was likely the Inn's original dining room.
My two suggestions to management would be:
(1) Lower placement of the soap and conditioner in the shower. I'm over 6 feet tall, and reaching the top of the dispenser was a challenge for me. My wife, at 5 feet, did not even try.
(2) While 93 degree days are rare in Ithaca, when they occur the Inn's rooms do absorb and hold heat. The window air conditioner in room 1 is too small for the room, making the room still warm after 10 pm. Replace that air conditioner with a more efficient unit matched to room size.
But, in spite of these fairly-minor problems, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. View Reviewer Info

We were in town for a wedding and chose Rogue's Harbor quite last minute. The room was fine, and the bed comfortable. I really appreciated that the hotel owner wanted to conserve resources (by not changing the towels/sheets every night), but I did find the roll of brown paper towels in the shared bath to be contradictory to her other green initiatives.
The restaurant at Rogue's Harbor boasts many local foods, although their menu is terribly deceiving: if you read the fine print, the local food icon conveys that at least one food item in the dish was local. So one could order a salmon salad billed as "local" where the salmon, greens, onions, croutons, etc are all shipped in by Sysco, but the tomatoes are from Tompkins county. It's very misleading. I think the owner needs to clarify these points on the menu, and also note if beef is grass-fed.
The restaurant did make a fabulous burger (not local, but good), but the house salad was BEYOND TERRIBLE. It was comprised of a pile of salad greens, two very small grape tomatoes, and an enormous splattering of flavorless dressing (my estimate is that they put 3/4 cup of dressing on my salad - no joke). This salad needs work, but the staff should serve it on the side.
One more thing: this place is not ADA accessbile, not even close. View Reviewer Info

The innkeeper plesantly helped me arrange for some special requests (a rose and appetizers) to be delivered to our room prior to arrival. The bar had a great array of fine imported beers (draught and bottled) in addtion to numerous local wines, ports and sherrys although the prices were a bit steep. The restaurant was great; the menu offered a nice variety of options at fair prices. The meal was delicious! Continental breakfast was provided and again offered an array of yummy breakfast foods (fresh croissants, delicious hearty raisin bread, cinnamon rolls, yogurts, cereals, juices, fresh fruit, teas, coffee etc.) We stayed in Room 4 which was very spacious with a nice comfortable queen bed. Two bathrooms were located immediately across from Room 4 so while they were shared by another room, it went unnoticed. The smaller bathroom doesn't have a shower or electrical receptacle however the larger bathroom does but the shower is very small. The inn sits close to the road so expect some road noise. We enjoyed our stay at the inn and plan to go back. All in all - the inn was wonderful! Kudos to the Innkeeper and her staff for providing great service. View Reviewer Info
