"Thank you" for our cozy stay at your Vermont B&B in October 2009. Your informative directions and attention to many "comfort details" were appreciated; especially your "surprise" late-nite desserts,"help-yourself" after-dinner drinks, and all your individual stories. Your breakfast specialties were perfect also to get us going in the mornings. The breakfasts were delicious and creative. We loved our romantic Maplewood Corner room, especially the feather bed and dome "moon" ceiling light. It was perfect for us. We met very nice couples during our short stay, especially your guests from the United Kingdom and Kansas. Thank you, thank you again and again for our "Halloween parting-gift ornaments" from your B&B "Booootique". They will be keepsakes that will remind us of you, and your smiles. We will be displaying the ornaments and using your "hot sausage" recipe for Halloween tomorrow. Take care and we hope to stay with you again when we are in Vermont, or close by. We will pass your information on to many friends in California. You are both great hosts!!!!!!!! Happy Halloween! Michele and Larry

Larry and Clif are the ultimate hosts in their lovely old Vermont farmhouse, which they have beautifully refurbished. Elegant gourmet breakfasts are presented with a flair, and they are delicious! In case you're hungry or thirsty in midafternoon, there are snacks sweet or savory, hot drinks on a chilly afternoon, a glass of wine, whatever suits you. From restaurant recommendations to route suggestions to going for a walk with us down by the creek and filling us in on local history, we felt we'd arrived as guests and left as friends . I can't think of a better way to visit Vermont. We hope to return some day.

My wife and I venture to Vermont every year in Nov. Running two small business and being very busy this trip each year is very important to both of us and and Larry and Cliff could not of done more to make it very special. Each year staying in a different part and at a different B&B. Even though we still have more of Vermont to discover we will go back. I find myself looking forward to seeing them again.

We thought we should comment on the wonderful visit we had to the Belding House and share our thoughts with you. Larry and Cliff are dedicated to the absolute comfort of all those who are fortunate to cross their threshhold. They are professional pamperers who genuinely enjoy people and stimulating conversation. There is an incredible attention to detail and they even iron the sheets! We had a delightful four-day visit with scrumptious breakfasts and a continuing feast of treats! Picture this: Is is early October, the leaves are showing off their blazing colors and the surrounding mountains are covered like a glowing quilt. We're seated on plush apricot velvet cushions in a charming room, loaded with antiques acquired during the hosts' many international trips; the fireplace is ablaze; we're sipping a huge mug of hot chocolate topped with cinnamon whipped cream and a bowl of candied walnuts is offered in case we haven't had enough of a sugar shot!; and to complete the atmosphere, Ella Fitzgerald is singing Cole Porter and Gershwin tunes. Now if this isn't heaven, we don't know what is! Come on and become a hedonist and share this great experience. Warmest wishes from appreciative fans! Audrey & Ron Schlein

The exquisitely furnished rooms, the luscious breakfasts, the generous amenities, the comfortable common spaces and, especially, the warmth and graciousness of our hosts, made us devoted fans and forever returning guests of this delightful place in Vermont.

My Husband and I were blessed to start our honeymoon here. Granted we are new to the bed and breakfast scene and visited two addition bed and breakfasts in two different states, we felt at home immediately and loved our stay. We were sad to leave. Clif and Larry are top notch and go out of their way to make every aspect first class, from the rooms, to breakfast, afternoon snack, dessert, to turn down service. One can only feel spoiled rotten to the ump degree. The setting is charming and quite the romantic spot. It is also a great place for rest or relaxation. I can not stop raving about this bed and breakfast. Out of all the ones my husband and I stopped at along our trip, none came close to this one. Not to mention feeling pampered, the location is ideal. It is close to everything. We discovered that even with three days, we weren't able to do everything. We had such an amazing time that we have already planned to return. If you are looking for a great bed and breakfast, don't pass this one up.

Over the past Memorial Day weekend my wife and I stayed at The Belding House Bed & Breakfast hoping to relax and enjoy the lavish, green VT! What a relaxing stay that was! Clif and Larry truly provide an extraordinary experience for all guests staying at their Inn. From the very first moment when you book your reservation you are treated in a special, kind and personal way. After you arrive at The Belding it only gets better. The place is welcoming, the Inn keepers professional and caring. If you have never stayed at any B&B (just like us) this will truly exceed your expectations and leave a pleasant memory that you would like to visit over an over again. The Belding House is located just off VT 100 with approximately 5 miles to Waterbury, VT ( excellent Thai restaurant Osha) and about 9 miles to Stowe. After you arrive, you can expect to be treated to an afternoon snack prepared by Clif( who can seriously compete on Iron Chef!) and plenty of wine, beer and hospitality added to it. Rooms are excellent and clean, with personal touches left by Innkeepers every night (chocolates). When you come back from your night out you can expect a superb desert that will elevate your soul and satisfy your taste. In the morning get ready...Breakfast is to die for! Every morning Clif and Larry tried to and successfully manged to exceed our craving expectations with serving delicious, huge breakfast filled with fresh berries, hickory smoked bacon, french toast, artisan quiche (prepared by Larry) and many other delicacies that keep you going for almost the whole day. What else we can add? The Belding House is truly not your usual B&B. Innkeepers do make you feel like you are home away from home and after staying there you leave as a friend not just another guest! Clif and Larry, thank you for a spectacular long weekend! It will be nice to visit you again! Mariusz & Ewa

We stayed at The Belding House on Valentine's/President's Day weekend. We picked the Blueberry Hill room based on others' reviews. We arrived a lot later than expected (after midnight) due to traffic. Larry waited up for us and showed us to our rooms. He graciously prepared delicious hot chocolate and a nice, cold beer. The next morning, we woke up to a wonderful breakfast of French toast and bacon. Each woman staying at the B&B got a truffle in a cute red leather gift box in celebration of Valentine's Day. We got maps and brochures for sightseeing in Waterbury and Burlington and they gave us driving directions. We arrived back at the B&B after 5pm and were welcomed with beer and delicious sausage and cheesy bread snacks in the living room area in front of a roaring fire. Be careful not to eat too much before dinner or you will ruin your appetite! Both breakfast and snack time were a great time to interact with Clif and Larry, as well as the other B&B guests. After we came back from dinner, Clif and Larry had prepared the room for our surprise marriage proposal! They decorated the bed with rose petals and had the champagne ready. We had brought our own champagne to celebrate, so Clif and Larry ended up giving us a bottle of champagne to bring home. Before we left, they gave us one of the Valentine's Day floral centerpieces and a potpourri bag. What else can we say? The food and service were phenomenal and we felt right at home in Clif and Larry's B&B. They played a part of a special moment in our lives. We will definitely be back to The Belding House and we will tell all our friends and family about our wonderful experience. Sarah & Stephen

Clif and Larry were superb hosts, thoughtful, helpful and a pleasure to be with. We were made welcome with hot soup and a delicious pomegranate martini; Larry helped us with our luggage to our room with its luxurious bed. We were exhausted after a day of skiing so we didn't really admire the beautiful restored floors and furnishings until the next morning. We slept very comfortably. Breakfast was memorable, both for the robust eggs benedict and the great conversation with the other guests. We asked if there was any place nearby for a short hike before returning home, and Larry took us out back to the very beautiful trail that runs right behind the inn. We highly recommend Belding House and look forward to returning for a longer stay. David & Annika

I recently stayed at The Belding House Bed & Breakfast, over the New Year's Weekend. This was my third visit to the valley for skiing, and I had to share my experience. The Belding House is by far, the nicest place I have stayed in the area. It is so clean and the owner's Clif & Larry go out of their way to make you feel at ease & at home. The service was over the top. I travel alone, so I appreciated the greeting where my luggage was taken from my car to the room for me. Hot face towels and a "Persian Dream" cocoa (Clif's hot cocktails are the best) awaited my entry to the Inn, where I was dazzled by the smell of cinnamon and pine in every room. The Inn is like staying in an art musuem. It was so amazing to hear the stories connected all the art in the home. The Food...... In a word "outstanding" great job guys. I have never seen so much food done so well. Each morning out did the morning before. It was worth getting up out of the overstuffed marshmallow featherbeds just to see what smelled so good. I loved that heavenly bed, I felt as if I was in the Princess and the Pea story. Thank you both for the great holiday weekend, I will be back, as I found perfection in Vermont. Kara Lieberwitz P.S. The snow removal from my car was over the top!

What a fabulous little weekend. My husband & I have stayed at a lot of bed & breakfast's, but this one is really special. Clif and Larry are the essence of incomparable hospitality, they made us feel so welcome. They thought of everything, from the warm face towels that greeted us upon arrival after a day on the slopes to the hot buttered rum and cranberry martini's that we shared fireside. You have gone above and beyond and you two are so much more than inn keepers. Your breakfast rivals that of a 5 star hotel and your snacks and desserts were amazing. Sleeping like babies and not wanting to awake in those dreamily comfortable beds...or... reading and chatting in the lovely living room while enjoying the snacks, desert and afterdinner drinks ... all complimentary. Oh, the beakfasts : you have to see and taste to believe. All we can say, if you're going to Vermont head to The Belding House and if you're not, change direction and go anyway. The breakfasts were 5 star - even better than the pictures! During our weekend in Vermont, it was one of the girl's birthday in my group. At a moment's notice, Clif and Larry "threw together" delicious homemade flan garnished with fresh berries and even birthday candles. Absolutely unexpected, yet so gracious. In town for a seminar, I spent 5 days at The Belding House where I very much enjoyed my temporary “home”. Larry and Clif have created an inviting, sophisticated yet down-to-earth atmosphere with feasts for the eyes and palate. The Belding House is full of exotic antiques and art work from the owner’s travels. Each room has its singular style; it was hard to pick a favorite, but Blueberry Hill won me over. The breakfasts were spectacular and filling, no scrimping on the portions or ingredients, including macadamia nut waffles and spiced apple dumplings. I enjoyed the fireplace downstairs and in my bedroom. Evenings arrived with a choice of beverages and snacks, if one can consider home made crème brulee a “snack”. Best of all Larry and Clif are wonderful hosts who made me feel totally welcome. I’m already looking for an excuse to come back!

The Belding House is indeed a refined Bed & Breakfast. My husband and I stayed there for 2 nights during our honeymoon and were pampered from the moment we walked in the door. Inn keepers Larry and Clif are such phenomenal hosts. We arrived to the Belding House way past check-in time, at approximately 11pm. Our hosts helped us with our luggage, and showed us around the house. There was a bottle of champagne on ice in our room, and the room had been turned-over with rose petals and chocolate on the bed. That evening before we called it a night we sat with Larry in the living room by the warm fireplace and talked for a while. He served us Creme Brule, wine, and some snacks. He was full of information on local sites and neighboring towns. The next morning we woke up to a gourmet breakfast that looked exactly like the picture on their website. The breakfast was exquisite! The entire ambiance of the Belding House was by far the most romantic Bed & Breakfast we have been too. The scent in the house was of cinnamon & pumpkin spices, the music that played was timeless Jazz, and the dim lighting and candles throughout the house was perfect for us honeymooners. After our 2 day stay at the Belding House we stayed at a couple of other bed and breakfast but none came close to the exceptional treatment we received at the Belding House, so much that we ended up canceling one of our reservations and called Larry and Clif asking to please let us stay our last night at the Belding House, they told us to give them an hour to tidy up a room for us! I could go on and on...We recommend the Belding House to all who are looking for a romantic, relaxing, first-class getaway.

I have traveled and stayed in bed and breakfasts all over the country, and I most say that this is by far my favorite. We were supposed to stay at the Sugar Bush ski resort, but they were full to capacity because of the Today Show, and we were really glad that they were once we walked in to this beautiful bed & breakfast. Larry who’s one of the proprietors was there to welcome us, and offered us some drinks and snacks, then he showed us to our rooms which were very clean, well kept and very nicely decorated; the same can be said about the rest of the house. Each of the rooms has a fireplace, making them very cozy and romantic. We were later joined by the other proprietor Cliff and we had drinks, snacks and nice conversation; both he and Larry are wonderful people. They are very nice, sociable and really go out of their way to make you feel at home. Larry and Cliff are great cooks; Cliff is a professional chef, so needless to say that the food and wine was top of the line in this place (best breakfast in town!). Their motto is walk in as customers and leave as friends; and they are absolutely right. I can really see everyone that walks in this place leaving as friends and genuinely caring and keeping in touch with these guys. I recommend this place 100%, for the comfort, the food, the feeling of being home, the treatment and especially for Larry and Cliff.

Upon arriving at The Belding House after a long and arduous drive we couldn't have been more delighted at what we discovered. And that was just the beginning...our hosts, Clif and Larry, couldn't have been more gracious and welcoming. They have literally thought of everything when it comes to providing a truly unique and relaxing getaway. Our room had the most comfortable bed, complete with luxurious linens and a fireplace. The day started with the most elegant, scrumptious breakfast and ended after a day of skiing with a glass of wine in front of the fire sharing stories with Clif and Larry. What made our stay truly special was that we happened to luck out and have the entire house to ourselves......something I suspect will be impossible to get again as word of this beautiful place spreads. The Belding House set the bar for an outstanding Bed & Breakfast stay! As this was only our second Bed & Breakfast experience...any from now on have A LOT to live up to! Clif and Larry are absolutely wonderful hosts! The Belding House is so cozy and inviting. Candles glow and wonderful music fills the common rooms throughout the house. The plush beds are so comfortable you would love to stay cuddled up all morning. Each room has a fireplace; Clif and Larry are happy to get the fire started for you. A very romantic touch to the rooms. They have wonderful deserts and snacks out each afternoon/evening in addition to an assortment of wine and beer. The breakfasts are absolutely amazing! A selction of cereal, yogurt, and fruit accompany a hot breakfast plate such as pumkin waffles, sausage and potatoes. One morning, a delicious Southwest egg bake was a nod to their former home, Arizona. We really enjoyed getting to meet the other guests and share stories about the adventures we had planned for the day. Clif and Larry are happy to give suggestions and have many helpful brocures and maps. They suggested a great place for dinner, Cider House BBQ, that we loved. We really felt so at home at the Belding House and in the Moretown/Waitsfield area. I wish we were still there. I hope to return sooner than later! I would absolutely recommend the Belding House B&B! Thank you to Clif and Larry for a wonderful stay! ~Sarah Marie and John

Our weekend getaway at the Belding House was better than we could have dreamed of on all counts. We've stayed in many amazing B&Bs but Clif & Larry's extraordinary generosity and kindliness made us feel at home immediately and I must admit we were even sad to leave this little piece of paradise! Cozy rooms with all those little special attentions that make you feel immediately welcome, the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in, one of the best breakfasts we've ever had all in a beautifully decorated but unassuming house where you just feel right at home! We'll recommend it to all our friends! Mark & Christine

This is not your typical bed and breakfast. It's not gramma's house and it's not the commercial would be hotel. This is truly a place to relax in elegant comfort and expansive grounds. Guests can comingle in an inviting setting or venture out in and on grounds remote and romantic setting, of which there are a few on property. There is plenty of room for wedding or company events. The hosts are extreme in friendliness and quite talented with their breakfast gourmet presentations and delightltful afternoon pastries and pies. Cliff and Larry will bring a depth to your travel experience that exceedds every expectation. They understand the history of the area and their recomendations for adventure and dining are all but taylor made. Aside from the local scene, they bring personal experience to travel around the globe. Engulf yourself, as we did, in intellectual conversation regarding culture and adventure from Tibet and Indonesia to Costa Rica and Jamaica. A getaway?, definately, and for me and mine, a definate get to, again and again. Mark & Marie Peck - Carefree, AZ., USA

Clif and Larry call themselves the custodians of the 200+-year-old Belding House because "they are just one in a line of many owners" of this beautiful home. The Beldings, the family who built the home and the current namesake of the B&B, should be pleased with what they've done to update this grand dame and her grounds. The inn is immaculate, and the colors on the walls, in the draperies and in the furniture are warm and inviting - perfect shades of autumnal bliss. The inn is well-adorned with artwork from around the globe, and amazingly, the international flavor blends seamlessly with the more traditional New England style of the home. (Be sure to ask for stories about the art.) The cozy bedding is so comfy it's hard to coax yourself out. But, the smells coming from the kitchen in the morning do the trick! Breakfast is a magical time of day at the Belding House - from French toast casserole and maple sausage to fresh fruit and piping hot coffee. But the hosts don't stop there. Homemade sweet treats are out throughout the day, and Clif and Larry always have local beers, wine and after-dinner drinks available to guests. Their home is truly your home for an unforgettable getaway.
