Aloha Crater Lodge in Volcano

Nestled in the Hawaiian fern forest and situated near the edge of Kazamura Cave, Aloha Crater Lodge welcomes you. Located less than 2 miles from the entrance to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, our rooms are designed with your privacy in mind.
Every room has it's own entrance and gorgeous views of the natural Ohia and Hapu'u landscape.
A continental breakfast is placed in your room daily and includes homemade Hawaiian tea bread, a basket of fresh fruit and complimentary Hawaiian blend coffee and tea service.
Enjoy your coffee while overlooking our collapsed lava tube. Kazamura cave is a treasure to behold. Breathe in the beauty and majesty of the days of old when lava created this incredible sight.
After breakfast you might drive down the hill to Hilo, about 30 scenic miles, where you can shop til you drop or beach it for the day. Unwind before dinner by taking a hot tub. Situated near the lavatube for your relaxation and enjoyment.
A gourmet dinner awaits at any one of the fabulous restaurants located in Volcano Village, Keawe Kitchen, Thai Thai, Lava Rock Cafe, Kilauea Lodge or Volcano House. If you have dinner at the Volcano House, view one of the HOTTEST attractions happening in the Volcanoes National Park, Hale a mau'mau crater. Hawaii Volcanos National Park is one of the few places in the world where you can view a live active volcano. For most this is a once in a lifetime opportunity not to be missed. Remember, this is how these islands were made!
Lava viewing can also be seen from the end of HWY 130. Located about 1.5 hours from Aloha Cater Lodge, the lava enters the ocean near Kalapana. Truely an amazing sight to behold!

Overall, it was a great experience staying here. The lodging and property itself was lovely. Our only complaint is that the bed covers had a smell and it needs to be laundered.

Innkeeper Response
I am grateful to receive this review. We are a new B&B, just opened in June 2007, and I know there is always room for improvement. I am glad to hear that we have potential and that we already offer a good value. Originally spaceheaters were available upon request but now they are standard in every room. Upon welcoming customers and showing them around, I always say to them "Please let me know if there is anything you need or if I have forgotten something, I will do my best to get it for you." My prayer is that I will always reflect the love of Jesus to every customer that God brings to me. God has reminded me, "Do not forget to entertain strangers, for so by doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it." Hebrews 13:2

Review Aloha Crater Lodge in Volcano, Volcano, HI

Photo Album

The entrance to Aloha Crater Lodge, a welcoming entrance to this tropical fern forest The driveway is narrow but lovely
This is a pic, of the top of the the crater valley.
Room 1 is certainly one of our nicest rooms. Beautiful forest views surround you from 2 large front windows and the double french door entry. The twin bed comes in handy for extra people in the room or a quiet afternoon nap.Room 1 offers a private entrance, parking near the entrance, kitchenette with microwave, coffee maker, toaster and minifridge. In room continental breakfast is provided and includes fruit, homemade Hawaiian tea bread and complimentary coffee and tea service. Enjoy your favorite beverage on the quaint patio located in front of Room 1.
Enter Room 2 by way of large patio through sliding glass door. Full front yard forest views are yours to enjoy at breakfast or in the evening relaxing. Room 2 offers a king sized foam bed and a firm double bed, large patio with table and chairs, indoor table and chairs, separate kitchenette area, private bath w/tub and continental in room breakfast.Breathe in the forest views from every window in Room 2. Enjoy your breakfast inside on cold Volcano mornings or outside on the large patio when those epic sunny days shine. Room 2 is highly recommended for families who need more space to move. Kitchenette has a microwave, coffee maker, toaster, mini fridge and continental in room breakfast.
Room 2 kithenette and entry. Sometimes a little more space is what you need. Cooking facilities are limited however some meals are made best by their simplicity. Weather you prepare your own meal or take out from one of the local restaurants it's nice to have that option.Room 3 offers a double bed and a queen, the best room for your money.
Room 3 offers comfort with a discount. You may want 2 separate, larger beds or need to accomodate a couple more people in the room. Room 3 has a queen and double sized beds, private entrance/bath, modest covered porch area with cafe table and chairs, partial forest views and a continental breakfast stocked in your room. Sorry, no microwave or bathtub. The Honeymoon Suite is located upstairs, it is the Master Bedroom in the main house. A large semi private patio welcomes you to a sliding door entry. The view is awesome! Enjoy the 312 sq ft this Master Bedroom Suite has to offer. A comfy, king sized bed with a featherbed top eases the fatigue from a buisy day of hiking. Your breakfast is prestocked in your room, homemade Hawaiian Tea bread, hot and cold cereals, yogurt and fresh fruit. Complimentary coffee and tea service, hot chocolate juice and milk are included. Enjoy this room for a honeymoon treat or a special anniversary. Enjoy life together.
Custom made by the owners, this is almost like a secret retreat for couples. A large open bathing area invites you to relax and enjoy, no, indulge!Enjoy the privacy of our hot tub set in the forest, on the edge of the crater. This is the BESS.
