Everywhere I looked I saw thoughtful, whimsical touches that melded art and nature. I felt very nurtured by innkeepers Ellen and Tim. Loved the hikes led by Ellen. I will definitely return in the future.

Ellen and Tim are the perfect innkeepers. Available when needed but allow for privacy. We stayed in the small cabin and enjoyed it immensely. After a day of biking the beautiful backroads we relaxed in the jacuzzi, what a treat. The weekend we were there , we participated in the drumming workshop taught by Dr. K. He was a terrific teacher and a joy to watch. I highly recommend it. On Sunday, we participated in the Energy 101 workshop which Tim taught. It was awesome!! Next time, we'll bring some friends and rent one of the houses. We'll definitely be back.

What a wonderful weekend I experienced while staying at The Bed and Bike Inn. Hidden in the woods, just a short distance from Charlotte, is a perfect place to retreat from the real world. If solitude and beauty is what you are after, call and make your reservations! The inn keepers, Ellen and Tim are wonderful, guiding you to local shopping, biking and kayaking. The challenge will be that you won't want to leave the property. Just bring a good book and enjoy the peace, you're body and soul will be glad you did. Don't miss the moonlight kayak trips and book a massage ahead of time. Both Ellen and Tim are liscensed massage therapists. I look forward to coming back again and again.

My wife and I stayed in the small, intimate cabin, with plenty of room for just two on a short stay. The jacuzzi was phenomenal! Other highlights including riding the bike built for two, our massages, picking blueberries and blackberries, and dining at l excellent local restaurants. We are excited about returning again soon!

We loved the last couple days/nights at Bed and Bike Inn and our touring of the Uwharrie area. Ellen and Tim worked in conjunction with God's Country Outfitters to get us kayak rentals and told us all the best spots to go.

Ellen and Tim were so accomodating when the temperature exceded 100 degrees. We were present for the first backyard concert (Yurt-cert), which was so intimate and special. The performers became our friends. We later gathered at the fire ring for more conversation. The gardens and landscaping were beautiful and the upkeep was A+. Looking forward to my next visit. Tim and Ellen are the most delightful hosts! They took the time to show us around the Uwharrie region, gave us specific routes for biking (which were fantastic!)and even lit a fire around their own private 'Stonehedge.' We'll return...loved it!

Far from the maddening crowd, yet very accessible – the Bed and Bike Inn is the perfect place to unwind and relax. Surrounded by a small forest of trees, hiking trails and plain old peace and quiet – I felt like I had found a refuge from the world. The Bed and Bike Inn has the perfect accommodations whether you’re staying for a night or for several months. The hosts of the Bed and Bike Inn, Ellen and Tim along with their adorable inn dog, Wooza, Wooza – made me feel right at home and were always there to offer their assistance whenever I needed it. And did I mention the beautiful porch at the log home, perfect for sipping a glass of wine, reading a book or enjoying good conversation? And one of my favorite past times at the bed and bike inn is just staring up at the night sky and actually being able to see brilliant stars and soak up the warmth provided by Tim’s magnificent bon fire. Ah….the simple pleasures in life still exist at the Bed and Bike Inn. No wonder I keep going back.

I stayed Sept. 1-5, 2007 and very much enjoyed my respite. I will definitely return. Being in the country it's very quiet and relaxing with a hammock on the front porch and many chairs on the back porch to watch the birds. It's even dark enough at night for stargazing. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The 3 rooms in the Log House are on the second floor and share 2 full baths (1 upstairs and 1 downstairs). All 3 rooms in the Grove House are on the ground floor, 2 of which share a bath. Both houses have a living room and full kitchen. The Grove House looks like a brand new home while the Log House has beautiful hardwood floors and a more country feel to it being that it is a log house. The Cabin is really roughing it and does not have a bathroom, according to the innkeepers. A bathroom is available in the adjacent Log House. The innkeepers are very friendly and willing to help make your stay everything you want it to be. Wooza, the inn dog, is very friendly. She anxiously sits by the driveway awaiting visitors then barking a "Welcome" (thereby notifying the innkeepers to your arrival). There is as little or as much to do around as you’d like. Just sitting/reading/relaxing, antiquing, visiting vineyards, hiking/biking/kayaking, bird watching, golfing or … For bicyclists and mountain bikers, the innkeepers are very knowledgeable about local routes and have even developed their own routes that they say are much better than the state-designated routes. The nearby Morrow Mountain State Park and Uwharrie National Forest also provide excellent biking/hiking opportunities. Kayaking was very enjoyable at Badin Lake and Morrow Mountain SP with many opportunities to see wildlife. Both trips were kindly arranged by the innkeepers through local outfitters. For an excellent whitewater adventure or flatwater kayaking, the US National Whitewater Center is 40 miles away on the north side of Charlotte.
