We chose Ripples Inn for the location. We started our trip from Brunswick, took the Maine Eastern Senic Train and were able to walk across the street from the train station to the Ripples Inn. The Lobsterfest was 2 blocks away where, when you tired of that you could sit on the porch of the Inn and listen to the music. The rates are higher during Lobsterfest but that's understandable with rooms being in high demand during festivals, book early!! It was wonderful to walk everywhere and not have to worry about parking! Breakfast consisted of fresh Maine Blueberries every morning with yougurt, melons and delicious fritatas or egg casseroles. The Inn Keeper does it all herself, she'll book tours for you if your interested and is knowledgeable of the area so you can ask her anything. We walked to the Ferry and took a ride out to Vinalhaven for the day. The bed in our room was very comfortable and we slept a sound sleep. The room was cute and clean and we never bothered to lock the door when we left for the days activities, it's just not necessary. I attribute the success of our wonderful vacation largely to our Inn Keeper and our stay at the Ripples Inn.

We discovered Ripples because it is new, and we booked late -- how lucky! Great base for exploring Camden and up the Coast, Port Clyde and south. Walking distance to restaurants, harbor, movie theater, Farnsworth and Wyeth Museums, and a very short drive to the five star Primo restaurant and the Transportation Museum. We enjoyed the comforts of an immaculate room w/private bath, and ending our evenings snugged up in a rattan arm chair on the porch, sipping wine. The Innkeeper, Sandi, Dillon, provided recommendations and reservations for fine restaurant dinners, cooked delicious breakfasts, and charmed us with her relaxed genuineness and friendly hospitality. Breakfast was "family style" at the dining room table, and we enjoyed chatting and joking with other guests and Sandi. We'll be going back to Ripples often -- we love Maine, and Ripples Mid-Coast location, (and its comforts) make it an excellent base from which to explore!
