Continued our retirement site/home hunt and used BCGQ as our homebase. Liked that area/development and recomended a stay to my brother-in-law's family from Winston-Salem NC. May return in Feb/Mar to look again and check out what winter is like there instead of Columbus, OH. My wife and I stayed 4 nights here in early Oct. 2009. Room was clean and screened porch very nice to sit on. We took our toy Chihuahua Monet who was made to feel welcome. Swimming pool (indoor heated) was very nice, rec centre nice, all in all a very nice place to stay. I'd recommend it to anybody. Thank you Kim for a very pleasant time!

3 of us from Canada were attending the National Cruelty Investigation School training being held on the Cherry Point Marine Base in Havelock for a week. We needed comfortable accomm as we would be studying every evening and eating meals in our room. The room was fantastic, like home-away-from-home, loved the balcony patio! It had everything we needed for meals and comfort, even a washer/dryer! Peg and Harold were wonderful - very kind and always available. The housekeeping staff did a fantastic job too, the room was always prestine and super clean! We will definitely stay here again if ever in the area. We highly recommend this fabulous B&B! While not your typical large, possibly historic house type B&B, Peg & Harold provide great service, clean up to date rooms & lots of activities on site. Included within short walking distance are a pool, tennis courts, walking trails, boat/kayak access, cheap bike rentals, putt-putt, marina only to mention a few. The rooms are extremely well maintained and very clean with microwave, fridge, stove, satelite TV & washer/dryer. The breakfast also is not your traditional B&B service as it is a continental breakfast that you select & the owners deliver to your fridge the night before (w/ some items like coffee, tea, oatmeal stocked in the room). Finally, Broad Creek GQR is about 15-20 minute drive from historic New Bern, NC as well as restaurants & shopping. Try the Harvey Mansion restaurant for really fine dining - from 5:00 - 6:30 pm they also have an early bird menu that makes it even more reasonable!!

The facility has all of the features you could ask for, and more and we really enjoyed our weekend. Peg and Harold were very friendly and made it clear to us that we should contact them if we needed anything. The room we had was quite attractive and we enjoyed the porch in the morning while we had our coffee and cinnamon role. The fruit basket was a nice touch as well.

This is not your typical B&B but more like a resort setting in a beautifull area. The proximity to the Marina and ammenities like a restaurant and two swimming pools, tennis courts, and neighborhood lifestyle make this truly unique. The room was also the cleanest and best equipped and most comfortable. Don't miss the downtown area and explore the countryside. We spent almost a week at Broad Creek. I had read the other reviews and saw the photos and thought "I wonder what's wrong with the accomodations" Nothing is wrong. Peg and Harold were as accomodating as other reviews had indicated. Harold took me for coffee with the guys and I learned more about the area in an hour than I could have in a week. The breakfast goodies were great. Homemade I'm sure. I would recommend this as a place to stay for anyone. This even though it snowed while we were there in January! Hal and Dori

We just returned from a one week stay over Christmas. The hosts, Peg & Harold, are warm and inviting people, and did everything perfectly to make our stay an excellent one. The accommodations are very nicely decorated and clean and quiet. It was like having your own condominium with all the little homey touches added...the screened in porch and bathroom and kitchenette had everything one would need. The Fairfield Harbour grounds were very spacious and great for running our dog. The local eatery at the marina had excellent food and we ate there multiple times.

We had never had the "bed and breakfast" experience before but if all of them are like the Broad Creek with Peg and Harold, we have been missing lots in our travels. My husband had proposed to me in New Bern and now that he is ill we came back to visit and enjoy the time we had together. From the first time I spoke with Peg on the phone, I knew I'd found a great place for us to stay. From the beginning she was very accomodating and helpful - sending me information on the area to help us reach our goal during our visit. My family stayed at the Broad Creek Guest Quarters while we were looking for a home to buy. We found out about them by word of mouth. The room was spotlessly cleaned and very well supplied. Included with the room was access to the local recreation center with pools, mini golf, tennis etc. just out our door. They served a nice selection of items for our breakfast and on the subsequent mornings asked for input on things we'd like during our stay. So our breakfasts were prepared with our input. They took special care of the fact that we were traveling with a young child and made efforts to accomodate things that would be geared toward a 5 year old. The setting is beautiful and relaxing yet close to town, airports etc. We enjoyed the restaurant on site (owned by a different person). We were able to cook in our rooms which made us feel more at home. They had utilized space very well in the unit. To be honest the quality of items they supplied was great - not your average run of the mill soaps, coffees etc - well ABOVE expectations. Since having moved to the area, we have recommended this B&B to others we've come in contact with. We keep them top of mind when we talk with people who are coming to visit or when we talk with people in the course of our business. You won't go anywhere and feel more welcome than if you stay with Peg and Harold at Broad Creek Guest Quarters! One thing I would say in addition is that if you were to stay there and had any issue - I believe it would be resolved immediately as guest relations is obviously very important to them.
