What a delight! The Innkeepers, Barbara and Tom not only provided a warm and inviting atmosphere, but also go out of their way to make sure that your stay is everything that you would expect. My husband and I stay at many B&Bs throughout the year and never have had a more delightful time. The breakfasts that Barabara prepares are most delicious. This bed and breakfast is by far the best of the best! Many years to come!

After visiting Cooperstown, we spent three and a half days in the Finger Lakes region, and the Merrills couldn't have been more helpful. The food was delicious, and they gave us excellent directions and recommendations as to where to dine, what to see, what would be specifically fun for us, and maybe most importantly since our visit was limited, what to avoid. We had a great time! They were extremely friendly and hospitable, and the entire first floor was ours to relax in and enjoy their company. It has been awhile since we've stayed in a B&B, and our expectations were high, and they exceeded them. Oh...and the pets were great too! We look forward to going back someday, and have GREAT memories.

We stayed here two nights with two other couples. We are younger probably than most B&B visitors (in our late 20s) and sometimes find it challenging to find a B&B that is comfortable with a little younger couple. Barbara and Tom were so extremely nice and comfortable to be around. They gave great vineyard recommendations, running paths, resturants and all around just made our trip fantastic. We all enjoyed the delicious breakfast, both mornings were different too! Echoes of the Glen is a must! Thanks for the frienship bread, my hubby loved it :)

I decided to plan a brief two-night getaway to the Finger Lakes, for I have wanted to go to "Wine Country" for over three years, but there were always reasons that my husband and I made the choice to "wait" until...... to take this trip. Well, no more, I booked our room at Echoes of the Glen only several days before our scheduled departure, and cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience. We stayed in the Seneca Room, located on the first floor, a tastefully decorated room on the first floor. The personal touches, souvenirs from the innkeepers travels to Central America as well as local photos of the Finger Lakes region all tied together to promote a room with a fun, thoughtful theme. Barbara and Tom were attentive and gracious hosts, sharing stories of the local area and their experiences together, offering coupons and recommendations for local businesses and wineries, and providing us with numerous ideas for the adventures we could plan during our stay. Two highlights of our stay at the Inn itself were the amazing breakfast prepared by Barbara....gourmet and tasty! Our first morning, she made a breakfast bread, baked apples with cinnamon, sausage, and pancakes with berries. (My husband and I did not eat lunch and actually shared a dinner that evening....) The second morning we had fresh baked muffins and an egg bake with local cheeses, potatoes, and broccoli. Delicious:) The second highlight of our stay were the adorable and friendly pets, two cats, Rita and Teddy and a dog, Smokey. They were friendly as well as entertaining, we spent many relaxing moments observing and laughing at their antics. We even had the opportunity to take Smokey for a walk before we wrapped up our respite. I would highly recommend Echoes of the Glen to anyone who wants to be guaranteed a lovely, welcoming atmosphere when visiting Watkins Glen/ the Finger Lakes Region.

The hosts, accommodations & food are great. The inn is conveniently located near the Watkins Glen raceway, Watkins Glen State Park(which is a great place to spend a day walking in the beautiful gorge). It is also convenient for shopping or doing the wine trails around the gorgeous Finger Lakes of central New York. Barb & Tom(hosts) are there to help with any questions or problems you may have. My wife and I stayed at this wonderful B&B last weekend and we were very very impressed. Where do I begin? The owners, Barbara and Tom, are extremely personable, talkative, knowledgeable, and kind people. The house is renovated, it looks simply new on the inside, and boasts all the amenities, including free Wi-Fi (not that there's a good reason to stay indoors on the Internet). The rooms are clean, comfortable, and our room had a TV with tons of channels and a DVD player and an alarm clock with an iPod dock. There are a few small perks that are so thoughtful, like a collection of DVDs and CDs one can freely borrow from and a small fridge stocked with complementary bottles of water. The common living room has a huge TV and we enjoyed a movie and some local wine there on our last night, which we designated as "low key." It was like being at home. Barbara's breakfasts are to die for. French toast stuffed with ham, freshly baked treats, home-made strawberry jam, fluffy baked omlets - you name it. If you want to be nit-picky, the only inconvenience was the (new) shower stall. It was just too narrow to bend down and clean the lower part of one's body. But it didn't spoil our overall experience in the least. Oh, and did I mention that they own a 1968 Mustang? Coolest people ever.

We stayed for two nights and were very pleased with our visit. Barbara and Tom are outstanding hosts and Barbaras cooking alone will make you want to return. Our room was excellent, queen size bed, pillow mattress and upscale decor and bedding, we cannot comment on any of the other bedrooms as did not see them but logically they would be to the same standard. There is a large comfortable guest lounge area with a giant screen tv and satelite service plus a small tv in our room. They even have a small fridge on the landing to put any wine you might want to drink there, including glasses and an opener. In the fridge she keeps bottled water for guests (free). The location is ideal, a block from the Gorge and close to the docks area.

We stayed for one night and we loved it!!! the room is great and very clean. They have 2 cats in the house but they don't let them go inside the rooms. we payed 115$+tax. breakfast is between 7 to 9:30 and includes: coffee, orange juice, an omlet and a couple of fresh home made muffins. Barb the owner was very friendly and let us check out late, she recommended the rooster restaurant that was excellent!!! Don't miss the Watgins Glen Park - just cross the street and you are there. you need 2-3 hours in order to see it and it's a lot of stairs to walk up an down so skip it if you're too tired

We had a lovely stay at Echoes in the Glen. Our room was large and comfy and the breakfasts were gourmet. We enjoyed so many of the areas attractions. We visited the nearby Watkins Glen Park, local wineries and farmers markets. My husband spent a day at Watkins Glen Speedway and we both had a wonderful boat excursiion on Seneca Lake. Also spent an afternoon at Corning Glass. It was a wonderful stay with the Merrills at Echoes of the Glen

It is a great change of pace from the hotels that I have stayed at through out the years for business. There is great homemade breakfast, which you certainly can't get an mst hotels. Also, there is great conversation about the Watkins Glen, Finger Lakes Region, Western NY, among other parts of the United States and the rest the world where the innkeepers have traveled themselves. These conversations can be enjoyed outside out on the patio with some of the local Finger Lakes wines and/or even the local "microbrewed" beer (of which you have purchased of course) while visiting the Finger lakes Region

Excellent getaway weekend and great way to introduce visitors to the Finger Lakes wine country. Barb and Tom arranged our wine tour package with a very knowledgeable driver, Jack. Jack was very entertaining and targeted us to the vineyards that suited our particular tastes in wine. Cookies for an evening snack while we played cards. Coffee and teas for the morning while we prepare for a home cooked breakfast. The little things do mean alot. Perfect B&B to share with friends or a couple looking for a weekend getaway. Plan to return and check out another season at the Glen.

Echoes is a very comfortable friendly B&B. We went on a wine tour with two other couples. Barb scheduled us for the wine tour package with a driver, snacks, homemade cookies and water. It was great service. She was helpful with places to eat. She tried to make reservations for us for dinner our second night(the restaurant as not yet taking them). The rooms were comfortable and clean. The common area was very inviting. Barb an Tom made you feel at home. She made chocolate chip cookies for an evening snack. The breakfast on both days was excellent and filling. We are planning a return trip.

Barb and Tom made us feel at home during our stay at Echoes of the Glen. Their home and our room was beautiful, clean & neat. The breakfasts were amazing! Being animal lovers, it was also fun to have two friendly cats and a very loveable dog on the premises. As first time visitors to Watkins Glen & the Finger Lakes area, both Barb and Tom were very helpful in providing ideas of places to go and sights to see within the area. We were also within a short walking distance of Watkins Glen State Park, restaurants, bars and other local attractions. I will definitely stay again and would highly recommend Echoes of the Glen to others!

This was our third stay with Barb and Tom (the second this year). We have two trips already booked for next year. From the moment you walk through the door you feel like you're home. Barb and Tom treat everyone as if they are family. The Bed and Breakfast is immaculate and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Each morning you wake up to the wonderful smell of fresh baked muffins or kuchens. Then there's breakfast! Breakfast is usually an egg bake, stuffed French toast or apple pancakes and sausage, with fresh fruit, juice and coffee, tea or hot chocolate. If you have special dietary needs, Barb will accomodate. You won't get a breakfast like this in any hotel. The hospitality continues through the day. Many afternoons, you can walk through the door to the best fresh baked cookies you will ever taste. Whether your sight seeing or visiting the wineries, Bob and Tom are extremely knowledgeable about the area. For those sightseeing you must walk the Watkins Glen Falls. The views are spectacular. If you are interested in a wine tour, Barb offers great packages. She takes care of all the details with the tour company and then provides you with a care package of cheese, crackers, fresh fruit, fresh baked cookies and water for your trip. Then after a day of touring you have a gift certificate to use at one of the great restaurants in town. Jerlando's is a fantastic Italian/pizza restaurant. You won't leave hungry. If seafood or steaks are the way you want to go then try the Seneca Harbor Station. For those into the bar scene or enjoy microbrews, you must try the Roosterfish. Oh, I can't forget to mention Rita, Teddy and Smokey, the two resident cats and dog. For those of us who are animal lovers, they are there to greet you and be petted. If you have allergies, then Barb and Tom keep them out of the guest area.

We were fortunate to have stayed at “Echoes of the Glen” on two occasions. During both visits the rooms were great, the food excellent but more importantly, Barbara and Tom were most hospitable and accommodating. They are Watkins Glen natives and their detailed knowledge of the area is remarkable. “Echoes of the Glen” is the only place to stay in the heart of the Finger Lakes. Bob Bednar
