The Beyer Haus was welcoming, the owner's were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a game of pool in the parlor downstairs. They had a great selection of movies. The bed was wonderful with a fluffy, cozy comforter and beautiful sheets. I enjoyed a bubble bath in the claw foot tub. We were amazed at the beautiful antique furniture. I surprised my husband with a romantic get away. Who would have thought that New Ulm would have been the perfect choice. Beyer Haus is beautiful inside and out. This was our first time at a B&B and it was a perfect experience. Peggy and Bill are fantastic. From conversation, happy hour, fabulous rooms and suroundings, to bed turn down service and a breakfast that you leaves you so full and satisfied you can skip meals for the rest of the day. The Beyer Haus is a beautifully restored home with wonderfully appointed guest bedrooms (including little doll house sized "mouse" scenes placed in a little brick sized cut out of a wall in each bedroom). The private bath areas are spacious with modern marble or granite floors and shower areas. We also enjoyed a game of pool just prior to our departure in a large game room with a full picture window overlooking the front yard and street. Bill and Peggy are the innkeepers (originally from Kansas City) who moved to Minnesota to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Bill graciously prepared a room for us despite less than an hour notice! And Peggy is a gifted gourmet chef. Our breakfast was probably one of the best, if not the best meal presented in our 25 years of B&B experience. This full 4 course meal consisted of a moist and tasty cranberry scone with home made jam, a decorative banana boat with fresh fruits and a dollap of whip cream, followed by a bountiful quiche wedge, sauteed potatoes and german sausage. Absolutely delicious and filling! Due to lively and interesting conversation, our breakfast lasted over two hours, including the participation of our hosts. Delightful! The room rates at the Beyer Haus B&B are quite modest considering what we have paid at other locations. There is not only quality, but also value at this B&B, considering the unique beauty of each room, the full breakfast and the memorable comradship of meeting new people in the charming little city of New Ulm. Once we walked through the door it felt as if we had unplugged from the stressful pace of the modern day & stepped back a century to a more decadent time. The house is filled with period furniture & tasteful modern accents. Each common space had elements to bring people together; no electronics, rather there were puzzles & board games & a pool table to facilitate people communicating & visiting & sharing. The rooms were luxurious, the pure cotton bedding decadent, & the special touches in each room - from books on how to de-stress, to the floating soap petals & scented bath salts in the hot tub & whimsical furnishings allow you to leave your stress in the 21st century - & allow you to sit back & relax without a care in the world! With the central location we were able to walk to the shops & restaurants. We LOVED the gourmet steak house GORGE'S - decadent food that won't drain your pocket book. The neighborhood is simply lovely, & we felt safe & secure strolling day or night. Key to our Beyer Haus experience were our innkeepers, Peggy & Bill. Each afternoon we shared simple refreshments & conversation. Their friendly manner put us at ease, & made us feel like family. In fact, when we returned from dinner I nearly called out "Mom, we're home!" so Peggy wouldn't worry if we had come in for the night! Peggy & Bill make it THE Beyer Haus experience. It would not be the same without out them! One thing that must be mentioned - Peggy is a gourmet cook! Breakfast is always fresh & homemade. We have stayed 3 times at the Beyer Haus and have LOVED every time. It is safe, quiet and peaceful yet centrally located to all the major attractions that New Ulm has to offer. A very lovely home within easy walking distance of downtown New Ulm. We stayed in a clean and intimate room which was warmly appointed with antique furniture, rich trim and comfortable linens. The very friendly, helpful and gracious host provided evening snacks and drinks for us and the other guests which made for a friendly atmosphere. My husband and I desperately needed some time away. After soaking in the jacuzzi for an hour and sliding into the 600(?) count sheets with the down comforter warming me, I felt like a queen! With the king laying next to me. It was a thouroughly enjoyable weekend for us. Happy hour was fun, good conversation, appetizers and drinks with the guests and owners, Peggy and Bill. This was our first visit to a Bed & Breakfast so we weren't sure what to expect. It was WONDERFUL! The house is beautiful. There are so many little extra touches that you feel like royalty! This was my first stay at a B&B, and I'm hooked! Beyer Haus is gorgeous with no detail overlooked. We stayed in Maggie's Room which is located on the corner of the house with the turret. Peg was gone so Bill served wine and a shrimp cocktail shortly after we arrived, gave advice on where to eat supper (New Ulm has a lot of really good restaurants), turned down the bed and left chocolates on the pillows (in addition to the Gnome Made fudge and fresh flowers already waiting for us), and delivered a coffee tray to our room the next morning, which we enjoyed while gazing out the tower windows. The half tester bed was high enough to require steps and made up with beautiful linens and pillows. Breakfast was a gourmet delight served on beautiful china with chargers; the table was dressed in linen with fresh flowers and candles. This truly was my historical romance fantasy come to life! After 4 months of post breast cancer doctor /clinic visits we spent the night at the Beyer Haus to celebrate. What a fabulous experience! Attention to detail is their passion and for a person with health issues and food issues they made our stay perfect with their thoughtfullness. The reservation experience was perfect. From the moment I spoke with Peggy I felt I had known her forever! Upon arrival her husband met us with a quiet, gentle demeanor, showing us the house and our room immediatly so we could get acquainted and settle in. Shrimp and wine/beer were offered shortly after, as we chatted about the home itself while looking at a scrapbook of before and after pictures. The home has quite the history! We discussed dinner plans and were steered to George's Bar and Grill...where we had a fabulous, casual dinner of steak, vegetables, salt glazed baked potatoes and homemade biscuits, salad and spirits for a reasonable price. The room was amazing. We stayed in the Silverson Suite equipped with a jacuzzi tub and huge shower, and a king size bed. We slept well, and woke to the smell of fresh coffee brewing! Breakfast was beautiful, and tasty. Being lactose intolerant limits my food choices, and they prepared dairy free foods that were delightful and filling. The table was set with china, complete with candles, linens, chargers, and flowers from the back garden. We have a fair amount of experience with B & Bs, and this one tops them all! Just the right amount of attention, with the right amount of freedom made the sit on the front porch swing the evening before the end of an evening to remember!

I had a fantastic stay! The rooms are very clean. The beds are comfortable. I also loved the bathrobes. The breakfast was wonderful; several of us had to request half servings for the following day. The happy hour was unexpected and very delightful. To me, the most important part was the hosts. Peggy and Bill were incredible hosts and have done an amazing job of renovating! This was the best B & B we've ever stayed in. It's lovingly and lavishly decorated. The furnishings and the bath fixtures are sumptuous. It's very comfortable, very clean, and very friendly. The juice and coffee outside your room in the morning is just one of the many thoughtful touches. The breakfast was wonderful. If you're doing the "Laura Ingalls Wilder" (bonnetheads) tour, which we were, this is a great place and town in which to stay because it's close to Walnut Grove. It is an outstanding bed and breakfast.

We stayed at this B & B for our 31st anniversary and also a weekend getaway for two nights. This B & B is by far the best we have ever stayed at. From the beautiful woodwork and tastefully decorated rooms to the unbelievable breakfasts. Peggy and Bill are just wonderful hosts. It is the first B & B we have stayed at that the hosts actually treat you like one of the family. The beds and the linens were so fantastic that I just really can't describe them. You'll just have to see for yourself. We loved the special little things that Peggy did, from turning the bedsheets down and leaving candy on the pillows, to inviting us to their "happy hour" each evening where we could sample the local beer and wine and share stories with them. We were pampered beyond our expectations and really didn't want to leave! Probably doesn't mean much to anyone else, but I was very impressed that they had TV's and DVD players in each room for the guests. What a rarity in a B & B. We have been to many B & B's and most of the time the hosts show you to your rooms and maybe then you read a book until you leave. It was wonderful to just sit and visit with Peggy and Bill(and be able to watch the game!)(After all, romance only goes so far when Notre Dame is on TV, right Bill?!)

We were welcomed in out of the rain and our experience at the Beyer Haus continued to be beyond expectations. The Haus is beautiful and comfortable, the innkeepers hospitable and 'fun', the food outstanding. We look forward to returning and being able to stay more than one night! If you travel to New Ulm, this is the Haus to choose.

Our one night stay in the Silverson Suite at the Beyer Haus was beyond wonderful. We loved everything about it, from the color schemes to (especially) the heart shaped jaccuzzi, and I made special note of the cleanliness of the room and house in general, which is very important to me. Accommodations were not only beautiful and elegant, but fit the decor of the house so authentically - I felt as if I had truly stepped back in time. Gracious (and humorous!) hosts Peggy and Bill have a gift for running a B&B and I hope they never change a thing!

We arrived and were warmly welcomed...there was not a detail overlooked in our stay. The room was so beautiful and CLEAN! I always bring slippers with me everywhere I stay because of not liking bits of dirt on my feet but I walked barefoot here - it was so clean and nice. The bed...OH! It was like heaven and our parents said the one across the hall was incredible too. Peggy was truly one of the nicest people we have met in our travels here or abroad. She says she is not a cook - ??? Breakfast was fantastic! Twice in a row (and we are rather picky eaters). Thank you, Peggy. May you continue to be a blessing to all those who stay with you.

We had a wonderful weekend at the Beyer House. Arrived late on Friday and were offered wine, beer and a shrimp cocktail. Fresh flowers in the room and the bathroom! Rooms are decorated tastefully. Coffee delivered outside our door an hour before breakfast with a fresh flower on the coffee tray. Delicious breakfast with beautiful presentation. Were invited for wine and appetizers via a note on our door, but we arrived back at the inn too late - would have came back earlier if the invitation had been delivered in the morning before we left for the day.

The stay was a gift to my mother and the Beyers made it extra special with wine and munchies in the evening, coffee brought to our room in the morning, and an unbelievable breakfast! All gorgeous rooms have a private bath, fireplace, plush terry robes and towels. The two floors of the house are available to the guests, also the front porch and back patio and garden. BEAUTIFUL!

My wife and I just had a 1 night "get-away" to stay in the Catherine Room at the Beyer House. Everything was absolutely Great! Peggy went out of her way to help me set the room up to surprise my wife. The decorating is fantastic, beds and privacy were wonderful and the service was very attentive and friendly. We highly recomend this B&B to anyone staying in the area. It was a good value and a good experience. You won't regret it. It is one of the best B&B's we have ever stayed in. Don & Debbie.

Enjoyed my stay in Feb. 2007 along with family members. Accomodations were elegant and relaxating. Breakfast was delicious and tastefully presented down to all the details. Lovely step back into the past of days gone by. Can hardly wait to visit Beyer Haus again.
