Outstanding combination of location, amenities, and service.
This house is located between the hip Palermo area and quieter, more traditional Abasto barrio. It's a matter of a few steps to busy Cordoba Avenue where a constant stream of taxis can quickly take you from this central location to anyplace else in town.
The rooms in this 100 year old "chorizo house" are charming and spacious, simply and tastefully updated to reflect the unique features of the architectural style: soaring ceilings, gleaming wood floors, double french doors, shutters, and lots of moldings and millwork. Updating includes new tile and plumbing in the baths, comfortable beds, bidets, A/C, and cable television.
Service is where Casa Palermitano shines: innkeeper Lorena will cheerfully book dinner and show reservations for you, call taxis, provide assistance on day trips around the area, give advice on dining and touring, and keeps a delightfully friendly attitude through it all. Breakfast is great and includes eggs cooked to order and fresh-squeezed orange juice. Housekeeping keeps the rooms sparkling clean every day.
Not a good choice for those who prefer the sterile charms of a high-rise international hotel chain, but a fantastic value for travelers who want a more unique and local lodging experience. View Reviewer Info
