Some friends and I stayed here for 3 nights. I grew up in PA and have visited many "old stone houses". This over 200 yr old house is a beauty, meticulously restored, and very comfortable. Judy and Dan and their family welcomed us and made us feel comfortable, actually pampered since our group had all the rooms. back to the property: original wide plank floors, high ceilings, original summer cooking fireplace with iron work in a game/reading room with new leather furniture, a working well in the attached log cabin, relaxing large dining room and living room, second floor bedrooms and beds are very comfortable. The outdoor private patio has a large pond, huge maple tree, and is beside a corn field - several plump cats patrol the area although they ignore the guests. Judy's breakfast and evening snacks were wonderful, gourmet quality actually. She previously owned a restaurant, so there are nice touches and nice presentation and plenty to eat. Don't miss the breakfasts! Lots to do in this area: golf, skiing, battlefields, hiking, fishing, fall leaves, antiquing, watching the corn and peaches grow. I loved it and will stay again so my wife can enjoy Greencastle Estate. View Reviewer Info
