We had a delightful stay and everything was perfect. Personalized service was demonstrated by the owner when, having learned I'm lactose-itolerant, went to the trouble of purchasing lactose-free milk and made excellent pancakes for breakfast the next day.

We've stayed at this inn for 2 years in a row, and plan to make it a regular . We've stayed in 2 of the 3 rooms, and each has its charm and comforts. The beds are amazing - you feel like you're sleeping on a cloud. The breakfasts are terrific, and Pat and Len make you feel at home, but with only the good parts!

We stayed there for our honeymoon in July. Comfy Bed, nice room, WiFi, cute bathrooms. The breakfast every morning was amazing and the owners were extremely nice and accomodating, including giving us Ice and chairs for the beach.

We usually stay with friends nearby but they were remodeling the guest bath. So we stayed here instead and loved it. Pat and Len have a perfect little spot on the Cape and are doing everything right. We hope our friends do not finish their bath anytime soon.

An impromptu arrival. A guest with allergies. Both handled with finesse by Maple Street Inn in West Barnstable. These lovely people have a cooperative relationship with their B & B neighbors, which is how I found them. I felt right at home, off the beaten path, but close enough to do everything which is Cape Cod. Thanks folks. Hope to see you again someday!

Maple Street is definitely THE place to stay if you are going to be anywhere near Barnstable and the area. The house itself and the Garden Room are both so beautiful and welcoming. During 2 separate stays, the accommodations have always been perfect with not even the slightest complaint. Len and Pat are so caring and willing to help with whatever their guests need. The breakfast is the best too, I can only aspire to cook as well! Given the inn itself along with the hospitality, there is definitely no better value in the area.

My husband and I booked for our 40th Wedding Anniversary weekend here. What a gorgeous B&B! We were greeted by Pat and Len with a warm cup of tea and a nice dialogue between the 4 of us. We were shown the common quarters which are so warm, inviting, and beautiful. We then saw the Hydrangea Room (our suite) and really were so delighted and in awe of the beauty of this suite. It is located on the second floor. The den has a view with 2 large jalousy windows of the grounds and pond along with a TV, and mini frig. The king size bedroom is breathtaking! There are 4 jalousy windows with fantastic window dressings. The 4 poster bed has matching draperies on each corner. All blonde hardwood floors that are in impecpible condition. The jacquizzi tub faces the pond with 2 jalousy windows! There are his and her sinks, make up mirror, and a huge walk-in shower. All tastefully done in shades of black marble and white. There is an enormous amount of closet and storage space. VERY private in this suite. Our hosts served a desert, tea, coffee in the afternoon and 5-6PM wine and cheese and crackers. We were so happy to find The Maple Street Inn and will definetly go back. Pat and Len you are the BEST! Thank you for the unbelievable breakfasts- all homemade and helping us on our last day. We were not expecting breakfast as we had to leave so earlyfor the funeral. You are so wonderful and I shall tell ALL my friends about your B&B...except don't give away our anniversary weekends in the future!! Love, Steve and Helen Hurley

We had heard so many horror stories about B&B's along the Cape that it soured us for many years until we happened upon this lovely place due to a reservation mixup at a local hotel. This is our second visit to the Maple Street Inn. Our first was in the winter and we vowed that we would go back during the summer and we did this past July. Our experience during this season was so wonderful, it exceeded our expectations from the winter before. If you combine the charm of this historic Victorian beauty with the comfort of the rooms, attention by the owners, and marvelous breakfasts, then this is the place you want to be. It will not disappoint! It's air conditioned and beautifully appointed rooms provided a quality of comfort unsurpassed by most dwellings of the same age on the Cape. It was totally renovated only a few years before and every need was met by the very attentive owners, Len and Pat with their daughter Anne Marie who provided us with our evening cookies and tea. Scrumptious! This time we sat closer to the Pond with our morning coffee and enjoyed the return of the swans. We wanted to stay longer but all the rooms were booked so with great reluctance we left but our hearts remain and we'll be back again. Next time we'll book earlier for a longer stay, perhaps in the Fall for those wonderful Cape autumns.

Included in the highlights of our autumn trip to New England this October was our two nights stay at The Maple Street Inn. It was a delight to rest in such comfort and quiet after a day of "leaf peeking" and seeing the beautiful landscapes of Cape Cod. We rested in the blue hydrangea room with views of the foilage and pond just out the windows. The comfy, canopy bed, the jacuzzi bath, the soft robes and general beauty of the room (more like a suite) added so much relaxation to our stay. The gourmet breakfasts were yummy as were the treats we enjoyed with wine each late afternoon. The added bonus was visiting with the friendly inn keepers and meeting the other interesting guests. We hope someday to return.

Innkeeper Response
Thank you for rating the Maple Street Inn. Your comments express that your stay was less than expected. We strive for our guests to have a better than expected or outstanding experience. We apologize that you found several areas of complaint. We addressed the following: 1. Noise When we asked you how you were doing you said "fine". Telling us at the time would have given us the opportunity to find the cause and correct it. There is a wall between the bathroom in this room and the next. My husband and I each took a turn yelling from the other room and could not be heard. There is a long hallway between the rooms. There is a door there. The walls are constructed with 2x6 studs packed with insulation and floors are constructed with 2x12 joists also packed with insulation. The construction exceeds building code compliance. The rooms were gutted and reconstructed in 2002. 2. Bed The brass bed is an antique. Antique beds and antique people like ourselves, have joints that creak and groan. We have decided to retire the bed and replace it with a canopy bed. 3. Cleanliness If we have forgotten anything to clean or have not replaced anything our guests tell us; we address whatever needs to be cleaned or replaced right away. The room was spotless when you arrived and we cleaned it daily. The shower door has mineral spots from our water. We have put in a system to reduce the mineral content. We have tried several products on the door to no avail. We disinfect the bathroom and shower between each guest. 4. Dining We are confused whether the entrees were not to your liking. We strive for guest satisfaction. We need a heads up if there are any particular likes or dislikes. We sent an e-mail requesting that you tell us in advance if you have a particular breakfast you would like or if you wanted a menu in advance. If you would e-mail us the specific reason that the dining and anything else was below average, we would appreciate it. The Currans

We recently stayed at the Maple Street Inn and had a very pleasant time. The property is situated on a beautiful lot, and the house has been restored lovingly. We stayed in the Holly Room, which was small, but totally fine. Our hosts were gracious, and the food was delicious. I liked that this spot was not on "the main drag," too.

I stayed at this fabulous inn for two days last summer, and everything was perfect! The house was classic, but the room was very modern and nice! Pat and Len were very nice to all the guest, and I still miss the fresh morning scone! The pond was also very relaxing to watch, and I love the neighborhood, especially the restaurant in town!

Len and I thank you for your very kind review. Please come back and see us!!! We have added a garden in the old barn foundation. We now have cozy fireplaces for those late fall, winter and spring months. We still have afternoon teas and refreshments and of course scones. Our Inn, with the Classic Inns of Cape Cod Bay are participating in Murder Mystery Week-ends and we are developing a landing for our pond for those who would enjoy bringing their kayaks. We arrived on Cape Cod at 7pm not having previously booked our accommodation. All Inns in our first place of call, Sandwich were fully booked and The Maple Street Inn was recommended to us. What a find! First class luxury accommodation and a warmth from our hosts Len and Pat that needs to be experienced to be appreciated. Breakfasts were gourmet standard and nothing was too much trouble. The only downside was that three days here was not nearly long enough. Hopefully we'll be back. Lynn & John East Derbyshire (U.K)

We had booked another B&B over the web in West Barnstable, but when we arrived our booking had gone astray and the B&B was full. The owner rang the Maple Street Inn and luckily they had a room. The owners, Pat and Len Curran could not have been more welcoming and helpful. And what a room!!. Beautifully restored with dormer windows, the biggest, most comfortable bed we have ever slept on and a gorgeous claw foot bath. Then there was breakfast. The baked eggs and pumpkin bread were delectable. We could not have been happier. Geraldine Butler Canberra, Australia

My wife and I , visiting from San Diego, thoroughly enjoyed our 3-day stay. Our hosts, Len and Pat Curran are native New Englanders who returned to their Cape Cod roots to provide an authentic Cape Cod experience to their guests. Their lovingly restored 1853 home is authentic and impeccable. The beautiful setting right on Mill Pond provided a memorable serenity. The rooms are well appointed, send you back in time, yet have all the modern conveniences. The creative and varied hot breakfasts were something to look forward to each day. Can't wait to return...soon.
