Susan and Burney are great hosts! It's a friendly, comfortable place that we'll return to on our next visit. Burney prepared a different breakfast on each morning of our 4 night stay. All of them rated 4 stars, I especially enjoyed the sides of scones with jam (homemade of course!). Our room was spotless, and we liked the split floorplan which allowed plenty of privacy. We've had mixed experiences at B&B's in the past, but this is one we're already recommending to friends!

Susan and Burney are as warm and welcoming as their inn! We spent the weekend in one of the lovely cabins, enjoyed all the homemade food (outstanding breakfasts and a dessert set out each evening). Los Gatos is perfectly located for visiting wineries and checking out the Saturday morning market (Windmill), and Susan told us about the great auction house just down the road from the inn. We had a great time and will be back!

We stayed with Susan & Burney for 2 nights in mid-Oct for a weekend getaway from NYC. Their B&B is 3 miles north of Penn Yan and the top of Keuka lake, high on the plateau looking east over the farmlands, Seneca and Cayuga Lake glacial cuts. The hosts and the B&B were warm and hospitable, the breakfasts fresh baked, sweet and delicious, and the setting beautiful. Of the 3 house rooms we recommend the top floor suite with the private balcony very highly--great views and the least road noise. The two separate cabins are new, well appointed, with the strong aroma of fresh wood. The hosts own 3 cats so if you have allergies be sure to let them know. S & B are very knowledgeable about the area and have great recommendations for wineries, restaurants and other highlights. We enjoyed our stay with them immensely and recommend the Los Gatos experience very highly.

We shy away from most B&Bs as we value our privacy, even when traveling. The cabins available here attracted us for that reason and did not disappoint as they are immaculate, well appointed and indeed private. Both Burney and Susan are competent, personable and helpful hosts who are available if you need them and respectful of your privacy should you not. This is our third time to the Finger Lakes area. We LOVED this B&B! The cabins are simply awesome. They give you the benefit of more privacy as they are located outside the main house, but they are close enough to the main house to feel connected to the dining area. The hosts, Burney and Susan go out of their way to make your stay special. The wonderful breakfasts were the best we have ever had at a B&B - you will definitely leave feeling like you were in a 5 star restaurant - everything is homemade! The location of the B&B is great for doing your wine touring, as well as visiting the local small towns surrounding the lakes. We will definitely return next year for our fall getaway.

We took the two night Escape package with the Grand Suite last summer. The place is beautifull and sparkling clean. The room was big, comfortable and pretty, with a fabulous view. It has a large private sundeck overlooking the pool and the lake. The breakfasts were delicious and varied, served with warmth and hospitality by the most gracious hosts. Will definitely go back. We had a wonderful time at Los Gatos! The photos on their site do not do the B&B justice! Their property is amazing and the view is incredible! I was so excited when we arrived, and after the tour of the house and property we were thrilled that we booked such a great place! I am highly allergic to cats and didn't have any reaction!!! The cats are outside cats, the house is very clean, no cat hair and staying in the cabins were a perfect match for us! It was my boyfriend, friend and her husband that stayed the one bedroom cabins. Susan & Burney make homemade jams and jellies you have at breakfast, and they are also featured at local wineries and restaurants. You can even purchase their fresh roasted coffee and homemade jams and jellies to take home with you. Susan showed us great places to eat, and the wineries that specialized in Red Wine. We stayed in the cabin named Casa Azul. This was the perfect private hideaway with all the benefits of a bed and breakfast. The views and the property are beautiful and the inn keepers take such pride in keeping it this way. We met 2 of the 3 gatos who were sweet as could be. If you are allergic, do not let that stop you as we traveled with a friend who is allergic and she did just fine. You might be better off in the cabins if you do suffer from allergies but really this should not stop you. The breakfasts each morning were delightful. Stuffed Pineapple French Toast, Apple Dutch Babies, Belgian Waffles, fresh sausage, bacon, homemade plum granita, homemade english muffins, and a variety of homemade jams. I believe there was more, but the bottom line is that it was all delicious. The inn keepers were knowledgeable and very helpful with tips for anything you might want to know about the region. We were in search of good dry red wines and all of the places Susan recommended were excellent. Overall, we highly recommend Los Gatos!

An ideal location in the heart of the Finger Lakes and wine tours. Burney and Susan are very friendly and gracious hosts. Their knowledge of the area and local restaurants was invaluable as we planned our days. We like to stay at B&B's whenever we travel. You get so many extras that just can't be found at the chain hotels. Los Gatos has the extras and then some. Beautiful property and wonderful area for star gazing. Burney, the in-house astronomer, will be happy to share his love of the galaxies and invite you to the nightly show in the skies. Susan's love of flowers will surely impress you. Both of the owners are helpful and are ready to make your stay a wonderful experience. We stayed in the blue room and enjoyed our own private quarters. The refrigerator in the common area was well stocked with drinks including wine. Little chocolate treats were both in our room and in the living room of the home. You won't be disappointed staying at The Los Gatos. Yes, we did see a couple of friendly cats. By the way, Burney, also the chef, serves up a delicious breakfast with Susan re-filling any plate that is emptied.

We stayed at Los Gatos B&B in Penn Yan, NY on Thursday evening, June 18, 2009. Burney came out to greet us immediately upon our arrival and made us feel genuinely welcomed as he helped us with our luggage into an oversized & beautifully decorated room. Our first impression of the house was that it was immaculately clean & well maintained with the guests’ comfort in mind. We were the only guests that evening & were given a complimentary room upgrade. The room had A/C, a ceiling fan, TV, a queen sized sleigh bed with excellent mattress, large modern bathroom with a new ceramic tiled shower, elongated toilet, and a large luxury bowl sink built into a refinished antique cabinet as a vanity – all very tastefully done. There was an abundance of amenities from a fully stocked refrigerator with beverages & a beautiful country view. Burney & Susan are lovely and personable hosts. Morning brought a gourmet breakfast with fresh ground coffee specially roasted to Los Gatos specifications, fresh juice, poached pears with a sauce made from Susan’s homemade raspberry jam, followed by homemade English Muffins & Dutch Babies filled with asparagus, ham, & cream sauce topped with cheddar cheese. Burney & Susan gave us just the right amount of private time during breakfast, plus quality time engaging in interesting conversation with them. We toured the property including checking out the new separate cabins which are also available for overnight accommodations. Burney and Susan treated us like old friends as opposed to B&B customers. Los Gatos was centrally located within a convenient drive to all the area attractions and by far the nicest B&B that we stayed at. To sum it up: beautifully immaculate home & property, wonderful people, elegant décor, delicious food, and a great value for your money.

On a cold, winter December afternoon we were warmly greeted by Burney and feline friend "Friskie". We had requested an earlier check-in time and were graciously accommodated. Burney ushered us into the "Sage Room" - perfect in every way. 2 plush reclining chairs, an romantic fireplace, a luxury bathroom, a very comfortable bed and a cat to warm our toes ONLY if we wanted her there (the innkeepers make it very clear that cats are only allowed when the guests request their presence). We were shown where to brew tea, watch TV, have a glass of wine and encouraged to make the house our home. Burney and Susan are masters at being "present without being present" - they seem to appear magically just when you have a question or need something and just as magically disappear when your needs are met. Breakfast (Apple Dutch Baby - NOT TO BE MISSED!) with other guests was delightful. Our only regret was a cloudy evening which prevented star-gazing...but we plan to return. We have stayed in many B&B's in many states and Los Gatos is definitely a keeper!

You will never come across nicer people than the Barons of Los Gatos Bed & Breakfast. We were greeted in person as soon as we pulled up to Los Gatos, during our trip to the Finger Lakes of western New York. The rooms were extremely clean and inviting. We stayed in the suite, which had a balcony overlooking the beautiful, vinyard-esque, countryside. The suite's balcony included a table and chairs set for two, perfect for evening wine, or morning coffee. We loved being in the suite, but the novelty of the stand-alone cabins has us looking forward to our next visit. A fantastic breakfast consisted of myriad homemade jams, syrups and goodies that complimented the huge, fluffy waffles. I highly recommend Los Gatos B&B for your next visit to the beautiful Finger Lakes region of western New York!

August 2008 On our first trip to this area we were so lucky to stay at this B&B. We stayed in the Grand Suite, had gourmet breakfasts, enjoyed all the people we met and spent time with in the common areas, were offered excellent advice on area attractions and wineries. We asked about a particular area delicacy and were surprised to find it waiting for us in the kitchen when returning from a day trip! You can't get that kind of service at your ordinary B&B.

We choose this BandB because it was located close to fingerlakes wine country and because they welcome amature astronomers to bring along their telescopes to take advantage of the dark skies far from city lights and wide open view. Well let me tell you that they did not dissapoint ! I spent a highly enjoyable evening with the owner gazing at the stars, and captured a very nice image of a beautiful galaxy with my camera equipment. What a nice weekend in the Finger Lakes! The area is beautiful and Los Gatos is also. Susan and Burney have seen to every detail to make a visit very enjoyable. The food was delicious, but very healthy, as they prepare most of it from their own or local products. The astonomy aspect was an added bonus for us.

We booked our two night stay at Los Gatos upon the recommendation of good friends. Our expectations were not simply met but far exceeded! The room we stayed in along with the common areas of the house were comfortable, beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean. We enjoyed the breathtaking view of the countryside from every vantage point at Los Gatos, and were especially thrilled by Burney's amazing introduction to the constellations and galaxies above us on the second night of our stay. Both Susan and Burney were delightful, welcoming hosts and terrific cooks. The breakfasts on the sun porch overlooking the pool and the surrounding farmland were absolutely delicious. We could not have asked for a more relaxing and enlivening two days. We will most definitely be back!

We had heard of this B&B while staying at another B&B last summer and decided to stay there this year. Since we live approximately 6 hours from each other, this seemed like an agreeable place to stay. We are both teachers and needed a place that was comfortable, homey and the proprietors were friendly and helpful. We were not disappointed in the least. Susan and Burney are lovely hosts and helpful in many ways. They knew the wineries, restaurants and local places to visit and shop. We enjoyed the fact that we were able to check out the other 2 rooms in the house as well as the 2 cabins on their property used for guests. Loved having their cats around and will definitely return in the future.

We spent 3 days as guests at Los Gatos, located close to the village of Penn Yan. Our comfortable room was clean and very homey. Sections of their spacious home may be closed off at night to offer guests privacy. Burney and Susan will treat you to a terrific breakfast with selections that probably will not be repeated for your stay. Home made muffins and jams add a nice touch to their gourmet meals. Although on a state highway, our stay was quiet and restful. You may hike in the morning, lounge around the pool during the day, and marvel at the dark night sky after sunset. Burney often shares views of the heavens with visitors who are interested in his astronomy hobby. This is a great location to conduct day trips around the finger lakes region. Host Burney recommended Bully Hill winery and it was a hoot! The cats are an added bonus for animal lovers. We stayed in early August and found the days comfortable and the nights cool - cool enough to turn off the air conditioning, open our room windows, put the ceiling fan on low, and sleep restfully with the fresh country air. Every aspect of our stay was nice and we plan to return some day.

My wife and I have not vacationed in several years, and we felt in staying with Susan and Burney at Los Gatos, that we hit the jackpot. The cabin we stayed in was beautiful, and close enough to the main house that we only had to walk a few steps to get there. The property is situated on a hill above the town of Penn Yan, and although it was not on the lake, the gorgeous panoramic views of the valley looking east toward Seneca Lake are not to be missed. Burney and Sue made us feel very welcome, and gave us wonderful recommendations for restaurants and activities. I concur with other reviewers that the breakfasts were wonderful. In short, this is a can't miss bed and breakfast experience. We will definitely be back.

Bernie and susan do it right. Not only can they entertain and cook, they are two unique and caring people. My boyfriend and i picked wild rasberries on their property. I explained to bernie that my father and i loved picking them and it was one of our favorite pastimes. The next morning susan served us fresh sorbet in their outdoor gazebo with rasberries bernie picked the night before.

Los Gatos is definitely worth a visit! This was our first stay at a B&B and we found it amazing! Our hosts, Susan and Burney, were friendly, helpful, and accommodating, but not overbearing. They offered helpful information and recommendations when asked. Their rooms and cabins are lovely, lovely! When my husband was busy at a nearby workshop, Susan and her mother took me to a nearby produce auction house and a bulk food store. How thoughtful and kind! The grounds of their B&B are beautiful and restful, their little sunroom is inviting with free beverages, and breakfasts are bountiful and delicious. Lots of friendliness, but enough privacy also. The area is gorgeous with plenty to see and do. The two night package with the gift voucher, to be used in the area, is definitely worth the value. Los Gatos is the place to stay for a wonderful experience in the agriculturally beautiful, antique, and wine trail region of the Finger Lakes, especially the Penn Yan area. My wife and I were in the area during the summer for a wedding and decided to stay an extra night to celebrate our one year anniversary. I don't think we could have chosen a better place to stay. Burney and Susan were both incredibly friendly and very accomodating. We had a good idea about what we wanted to do during our stay (kayaking and a nice dinner), but no idea how to go about doing it. Burney had to perfect suggestions regarding where to go and who to talk to. I also can't say enough about the cabins. The two cabins that Burney and Susan have built are amazing. My wife still can't stop raving about them - quaint and modern. Breakfast was equally amazing and absolutely delicious. We ate in the gazebo. I would certainly recommend Los Gatos to just about anyone looking for a relaxing time in a great location.

Los Gatos is the nicest B&B I've stayed in yet. Burney and Susan are wonderful hosts. They offer a feeling of relaxation and comfort. The breakfasts are delicious and satisfying--large portions. We had the upstairs suite and loved the comfort of the accommodations including a private deck! Breakfasts were amazing -- delicious and no reason to go away hungry. We spent a week and found lake areas to explore, fun restaurants, and wonderful crafts and quilts. There are a lot of wineries in the area although we didn't explore them this trip -- maybe next time. The hosts were the perfect mix of helpful and welcoming and giving us space if we wanted it. Would definitely visit again!

What a wonderful place!!! We loved it! We stayed in the Sage room... it was comfortable and beautiful! And breakfast... wow! We had the most amazing french toast! Burney & Susan were fantastic- hospitable & helpful! When we returned from dinner Burney was outside with his telescope & we were able to view Saturn & the moon- very cool! Ther rooms are large and airy, plus they have a cabin (another being built) if you prefer privicy. The breakfasts are unmatched any place we have stayed before and since. Nighttime telescope time is very entertaining and you learn a lot. The figer Lakes are one of the most beautiful in the country. Wine is good too!!!

We had a wonderful time at Los Gatos. Susan and Burnie were wonderful hosts--they struck a great balance between being friendly and helpful while being unobtrusive. The rooms were cozy and well-decorated--every detail was thought out, from the beautiful bathroom to the candy dishes Susan refilled every day to the complimentary beverages. Breakfast was delicious and the grounds overlook beautiful farmlands. Los Gatos is also conveniently located a few minutes from Penn Yan--you are in the country but minutes from the wineries. We would love to stay there again.

We stayed two nights in the cabin for our 21st wedding anniversary and were quite pleased. Breakfast, as cooked by Burney, each day was phenomenal. The room was spacious with lovely decor: a beautiful bed, table for dining, flat panel TV, and two easy chairs. The privacy of the cabin was appreciated. Nice touches included fresh roses, chocolate candy in a dish, and water bottles in the in-room fridge. Wine glasses were also provided which allowed us to eat pizza one night in the room while quaffing one of the wines purchased on our trip. We appreciated Burney and Susan's willingness to help like providing advice on wineries and places to visit as well as calling the restaurant to say we were running late. Gardens and property for enjoying quietly or walking. Will definitely visit again and again!

This was our second stay with Burney and Susan and we will most certainly be booking with them again on our next trip to the region. The Grand Suite was the perfect "home away from home"! Beautiful country views from the balcony, where you can sit and relax with "Frisky", one of the friendly trio of cats that live there. If you're visiting at the right time of the year Burney will have his telescope out and you'll get an enjoyable astronomy lesson. The breakfasts are always highly anticipated and a great way to start off the day! When your stay is over, usually way too soon, you can take some of the flavor of those great meals home with the jams & coffees that are available from their gift selections.
