This was our first experience with a B&B. The Louise Room was very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast wonderful, very delicious. Ron and Eleandor are very wonderful host, we felt like part of the family. Thanks again for a most pleasant stay. We will go back.

Eleanor and Ron were outstanding hosts. The cottage was comfortable, quiet, very clean and tastefully decorated with period furniture. Both were quick to share information that made our touring easy and enjoyable. We would stay there again and look forward to seeing Ron's progress on his model train room!!!

Both guest rooms and common areas are spacious and attractive, the food fresh and tasty, and the location perfect, on a quiet yet convenient street of beautiful historic homes, but the best feature of this B&B are its innkeepers, Ron & Eleanor. Although Natchez has many wonderful B&Bs, most are staff run -- and in my opinion, it's just not the same as an owner-operated inn. On your next Natchez visit, be sure to tour the big plantation homes, then come home to the DSH.

My husband and I recently spent two nights in Aunt Clara's Cottage and had a delightful time. The king bed was comfortable, the breakfast was elegant and delicious and the conversation was most pleasant. Ron and Eleanor are very gracious hosts, even accomodating my food allergies and mailing me the two blouses I left in the closet!

We spent 5 days in historical Natchez for the Spring Pilgrimage and the highlight of our trip was the wonderful southern hospitality Eleanor and Ron graced us with during our stay. The Rose Suite was awesome, food was delicious, gardens were beautiful, but, most of all, the hostess was the BEST!!! I highly recommend the Devereaux Shields House for anyone visiting Natchez. Make sure to request their scrumptious scones!
