Exceeded all my expectations .In addition to the lovely surroundings and superb room accommodation , we were given a $50 certificate for a meal at a fine restaurant , plus 2 free tickets to a performance at the local open air theater , which was excellent . The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating.The room was clean and quaint and appeared newly decorated with an upgraded bathroom.All in all a wonderful experience. I would reccommend this B&B to anyone, and would go back there anytime.

At first glance, I was mildly disappointed. The outside of the Lodge needs a coat of paint and a little TLC. Our room was small but very charming and very clean and comfortable. The big surprise was when we opened the back door from our room to the English garden in the back. It's beautiful, with many trees, waterfalls and flowers; serene and conducive to relaxation with a good book or sitting and relaxing with a glass of wine. My only other suggestion for the owners is to add some fresh fruit to the continental breakfast. The staff was great and Swedish massages on the premises were wonderful. We also liked the proximity of the Lodge to downtown Solvang, especially after a day of walking around town or down to the River Grill overlooking the golf course for lunch. I would (am) gladly recommend this place to friends and family!
