My husband was always leary of staying at a B&B - I whined enough and convinced him to try one night during our trip to Maine at a B&B. Our schedule put us in Rangeley for only one night - I found the Pleasant Street Inn information and decided it would be our trial run! Rob&Jan were so amazingly gracious. The facilities were spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and exceptionally comfortable. Rob's recommendation for dinner was perfect and breakfast was delicious!! If it had been possible, I would have changed our plans and spent the rest of the trip at the Pleasant Street Inn. We enjoyed ourselves so very much and thanks to this experience, my husband is willing to try other B&B's when we travel again.

Rob and Jan have created a unique environment where you enjoy the sense of belonging like you are in your own home and the decadence of the finest Inn. For visitors to Maine or those new to the Rangeley Lakes area, this is a perfect pick. The setting and furnishings of the inn are classic New England and Rob and Jan's knowledge and enthusiasm about the local recreational opportunities are endless. During our short winter stay we enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, and from the warmth of the sun drenched living room we watched deer pass by. The hospitality was superb, the inn design provides room privacy and spacious common space, exceptional cleanliness, and to top it off the food was delicious. This is a truly unique place and we can say it was the most wonderful B & B experience we have had.

During our stay in Rangeley our car broke down and required repairs. Rob allowed us to stay two extra days at a reduced rate while it was fixed. He prepared a variety of great breakfasts, including wonderful oatmeal with Maine blueberries. My girlfriend is a vegetarian and this was accommodated with no difficulties. The inn is a short walk from "downtown" so you can get downtown for dinner without needing to drive (though Jan picked us up after dinner one night when it was very cold!) I cannot recommend Pleasant St. highly enough.

Usually when I enter someone elses home for the first time I feel a little out of place, But when I walked into Rob and Jans house it was the exact opposite. It was so warm and inviting. I came in for a wedding and was blown away by the beauty of the area and the home town feel of Rangeley. It was so hard to leave, they made our stay such a pleasant experience. Bill and Andrea

For a resort area, Rangeley has been seriously lacking B&B-type lodging. Pleasant Street Inn fills the gap. Rob and Jan do a great job -- very comfortable rooms, great food, and good company.

Wonderful, generous innkeepers, well-informed about the Rangeley area and eager to help make any arrangements necessary to enhance your vacation. The accommodations are excellent: comfortable, clean, spacious, decorated with a flair that included Jan's home-made quilts. We were delighted and have already made our next reservation!
