Tom and Barbara have created a gem of a getaway. Washinton Plantation provides more amenities than any place we have ever stayed. Our hosts were wonderful and the food unbelieveable. Our room, Katie's Room, was romantic and extremely private for a B&B. Our trip revolved around The Masters, and as such, the location, fourty-five minutes from Augusta was great. The community of Washington with its unique architecture and charm was also inviting. Great choice on our part! rick&barri

Tom and Barbara are the ultimate hosts. The food was delicious and our cardiac care dietary requirements were so appreciated. While meals other diners were eating looked absolutely sumptious, our meals were equally so despite our restrictions. The Planter's Bedroom was quite lovely, too. It was very special to stay in a home that belonged to my ancestor's nephew, Isaiah Tucker Irvin, Jr.

We had a great time! Barbara & Tom Chase go out of their way to make you feel comfortable & welcome. Every little detail added up to make everything wonderful. We eloped just the 2 of us, Barbara & Tom took care of us like we were having 100 guest. They made everything seem like we were the only ones there (they had a full house). We felt special.

Tom and Barbara were very kind and welcoming. We were so tired from the daily grind of life and were much refreshed and uplifted during our stay at Washington Plantation. Barbara's breakfast is to die for (the grits especially). The cheese and wine hour was really fun with all the stories that Tom and Barbara share from their unique lives. Their front porch was my very place to relax. When the rain began to fall, my pulse went to zero. The mattress and pillows and linens on our bed were luxurious and so comfortable we threatened to load them up and take them with us. We fell in love with Washington, GA and it's antebellum homes and lovely churches. The Tour of Homes was terrific and the Women's Club Luncheon a real treat. We felt like we were back in time many decades ago in the South when things were slower and simpler. The steak at The Jockey Club was good and their hospitality excellent. Don't foget to go by the Ace Hardware Store. A real treat.

My wife and I had a quick getaway for our anniversary at the plantation. Tom and Barbara were great hosts. The property is lovely and a wonderful place to relax and get away from it all. We stayed in the Planter's room, which was very impressive, but any of the rooms are lovely. We enjoyed chatting with our host's over wine and cheese and learning a bit about the property. We had dinner out, but Barbara's breakfast was amazing-- the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Her cheese grits put native southern chefs to shame. Washington is a quaint little town between Athens and Augusta. It was close enough to both cities to work in site seeing trips. The town itself is worth a tour, although we were there on a Sunday/Monday and most of the local businesses are closed. There are only a few restaurants in the area, so I'd recommend you enjoy Tom and Barbara's wonderful cooking.

Having traveled extensively in both the US and Europe, and taking everything into account - this is WITHOUT DOUBT the best place I have ever stayed in! The location is great (a leisurely and pleasant 5-7 minute walk into town), the hosts (Tom and Barbara) are the nicest, most welcoming, down-to-earth people you could ever meet, the house/rooms are perfect for the location, and the breakfast is to die for!! If you are going to Washington, Georgia, or any of the other small towns in that area - this is the place to stay. You will never stay in a friendlier place! Thank you Tom and Barbara for a really GREAT weekend.

Our stay in Martha's room was cozy, comfortable and a much needed respite. We enjoyed two wonderful nights and afternoons with Tom and Barbara - the breakfasts were exceptional! Wine and cheese in the Parlor in the afternoons was enjoyed. We will be back.

Tom and Barbara are the host and hostess with the most! Their rooms are charming and elegant, yet welcoming and homey. Bfast and dinner are served on the best china, with the best crystal; however, the environment is as comfortable as being at home. We had a fabulous one night stay. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer!

My husband and I stayed here on our way through to Columbia, SC. Tom and Barbara could not have been more hospitable. From the moment we walked in the door we felt at home. With the cozy fireplace and the amazingly comfortable bed, it was just what we needed to reconnect.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights. The keepers were friendly and gave us personal attention. The rooms were fabulously decorated and we loved the Egyptian Cotton sheets. The land was relaxing to view on their hammock in the backyard and the place was just as beautiful at night when it was lighted. The breakfast wasn't like anything I have ever experienced. We can't wait to stay there again.
