Every effort was made to see we were taken care of, and that we were comfortable. We were lucky with perfect weather.

We were looking for a quiet out of the way place, to spend a weekend, and this was just the place. Kay is a wonderful hostess, and the inn is right on the bay, with a wonderful deck overlooking the water, and a peaceful labyrinth to walk. We had a great omlette for breakfast, and a muffin, all made with organic ingredients. Kay even packed a to go breakfast for our daughter. Our room was large, and very comfortable. We all felt right at home here, and will certainly return!

My family and I could not find hotel reservations for the July 4th celebration weekend and I was lucky to have stumbeled upon Kay's B&B. What a delightful alternative to a standard hotel! The hospitality was warm and the food, great!

Wonderful deck to watch the water or a pier to fish from. Close to several area attractions. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and plan to go back.

I am a travel nurse and stay at the B&B. This is my third stay for 13 weeks at a time and I always feel welcome when I come back. If you want to refresh your spirit and soul this is a good place to start. Janet Shawgo RN

My Husband and I were looking for a quiet, relaxing, low cost get-away at the beach, but would also have accommodations for our Pomeranian. We found it all at The Lighthouse at Sandcastle. We were very comfortable and the surroundings were both beautiful and peaceful. Our Innkeeper Kay Hornsby was a total delight! Her breakfasts were wonderful, all natural and were so very filling that we never had to stop to eat lunch. We thoroughly enjoyed all the beaches we explored and picked up a few great antique keepsakes when we shopped in town. Kay recommended some great restaurants that satisfied the seafood lover in us. She also had fun movies that we watched and relaxed to after a long day at the beach. We were privileged to meet other guests staying with Kay and enjoyed breakfasts and conversations with the other patrons. We were also excited to meet Kay's son who brought his Shar-pei with him. The more dogs the merrier. We had such a good time that we went ahead and booked an extra night! We will definitely return to Kay's home away from home for many more years to come.

We didn't get the weather we wanted, but the location was wonderful and Kay was the perfect hostess. Plus she makes a mean omelet and a killer banana muffin, all natural too. Many thanks.

We stayed at the Lighthouse July 2005, there were 3 families and we rented the whole house, it was a wonderful vacation, we relaxed on the pier at night, we caught several fish and have amazing pictures of the sunset. We felt at home. Kay was a wonderful hostess.

My daughter and I spent three nights at the Lighthouse at Sandcastle as we visited museums related to the LaSalle Odyssey Tour around Matagorda Bay. We had a wonderful time. The view is stupendous. Birds of many kinds are all around. Kay, the host, is a gracious, welcoming presence, who cooks up great breakfasts and gives good directions and is a lot of fun to converse with. This area is full of history and beauty. Both my daughter and I would recommend this B&B quite highly.

If you are into fishing, Port Lavaca is a good place to go to. If you are into sandy beaches, then go somewhere else. This B&B is a good, calm place and Kay is a good host. Its in a cozy setting, if you plan to spend a really quite two days, go and stay here. Its not exotic by any stretch but can help you relax.

We have stayed at "The Lighthouse at Sandcastle" 4 times within the last 2 years. We love what the place has to offer- great fishing, great relaxing hideaway, simple life, and a spiritual retreat. Kay, the owner, is wonderful. We will continue to use this BB and has recommended it to our friends.
