No activities?....Just sit on the deck(s) or lawn chairs and watch the boats go by as the sun sets on the Western shore. Go and visit Hank and Sandy and you will be very happy!

Hank and Sandy have the most beautifull home here overlooking the Chesapeake. They are just two wonderful hosts whom we've enjoyed visiting five times these past couple of years. We've enjoyed every visit. Hard to pick a favorite room!

My wife and I stayed at Old Gratitude House over the July 4th Weekend. The Property is in a perfect spot and ideal for a relaxing weekend. We could not fault the accommodation both in cleanliness and quality, we stayed in the tropical Suite at the top of the house which has fantastic views over the sea. HOWEVER our hosts left much to be desired. On arrival the door was opened by Hank and we got "Come in, sit down can I have your credit card" Sandy never spoke to my wife at all and the only time she spoke to me was when I was waiting for the coffee machine to finish which was located near the outside deck. As she wandered to the kitchen she said "It only went on at 730" I must admit that after she passed by under my breath I said, "And Good Morning to you too". While having breakfast a young couple appeared for breakfast with a small baby, they had been booked in by friends. Children of that age are not accommodated at Old Gratitude House, but the young couple were clearly unaware of this. Sandy and Hank made a big issue of the whole thing and I felt embarrassed for the young couple who dealt with Sandy and Hank very well, all to their credit. Again the hosts could have done the right thing and discussed this with the couple discreetly but no, they chose to do so in front of all their guests having breakfast. We loved the location and accommodation but will not be returning because it is clear the owners love the location too but seem to resent sharing it with their paying guests and have little understanding of how to deal appropriately with people .

What a wonderful weekend getaway! The room was clean and fashionably decorated. Hank and Sandy were extremely "welcoming" and personable. We appreciated their attention to detail, the delicious breakfasts on the porch and the peaceful sunsets while we were overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. Even though Rock Hall is a small town there were plenty of things to do during the weekend. Our stay was so relaxing and we plan on returning as soon as possible!

my husband and I spent 4 days and we both loved it. The large private deck was so nice - we were able to enjoy some sun and the veiw was amazing - beautiful sunsets! Breakfast was excellent and served outside overlooking the bay each morning. Hank and Sandy were alot of fun. Thanks again for taking "care" of us and offering tips on what to see and do in Rock Hall. We can't wait to come back.

My wife and I stayed at the Old gratitude house during part of our honeymoon, and it was absolutely fantastic. We stayed in the Orient Suite, which had an airbath overlooking the Cheasapeake bay, and spent a wonderful, romantic and relaxing few days eating exploring Rock Hall and the surrounds by car, foot and kayak. The food at the B&B was excellent, Sandy is a great cook, and both she and Hank were really welcoming and friendly, as well as knowledgable about the area. An excellent place for a relaxing getaway from the northeast.

My husband and I recently enjoyed a relaxing and tasty weekend at the Old Gratitude House B&B. It was my second visit and my husband's first. We not only enjoyed the beautiful accomodations, outstanding breakfasts, relaxing jacuzzi, great breakfast conversations, but the experience of watching the sun set while reclining on the waterfront deck listening to the 1812 Overture was the icing on the cake! We look forward to visiting again soon!

The innkeepers went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. Crab quiche was excellent. Elegant decor yet in a relaxing atmosphere, I loved the player piano. And the electric firepace in our room was quite warm, nice touch. We'll be back!!
