Last minute my wife and I decided to have a little getaway from the kids and stumbled onto this Bed and Breakfast. We have been to several other Bed and Breakfast and were not expecting much. Once we walked into the front door we were amazed at how beautiful it was! We went on walks and just enjoyed the scenery. I would recomend this to anyone. The couple that newly runs this place was more than welcoming and has great plans for the future with my wife and I are already planning our next trip to go back.

Our stay at the Inn was lovely overall. The Inn and property are inarguably beautiful and the ammenities are just perfect. The help, however, is a little overpowering. The high-strung innkeeper seems to impose too many confusing rules on the guests who just want to relax. For instance, guests are asked to lock the front door behind them each time they exit the building (because the inner front door flies open due to air pressure if left unlocked), well this is inconvenient for guests who are trying to come in and out with their bags, etc. Their are locks available in this world that can be locked from the inside to lock as the door closes. It seems like a petty thing to be concerned about, but it's the little things that make all the difference. Beyond that, it seems that the inn is the innkeeper's soul reason for life. Her eagerness to serve borders on frightening. The inn is also very over-advertised within it's own property; the graphic logo, and accompanying novel of text, is printed on everything from coffee mugs to the bottom of the pool. I don't know how we're meant to read at the bottom of the pool. Oh well. The site is gorgeous and a lovely place to stay.

Amazing Inn. This was our 4th visit and we will be back for many years. The Inn has new owners and they are SO great! She took time to talk to us and make us feel like we were their only guests. The grounds offer so much to do that one night is not enough! Plan to stay 2 nights and enjoy the pool, hot tub, walking trails, boat, paddle boats, fishing, and beautiful rooms.

We celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary at the Inn. We had the most wonderful time. The Innkeeper, Beverly was wonderful. She took time out of her schedule to take pictures of us and to make sure we had everything we needed. The walking trail was relaxing. The paddle boating was a blast. We had a very restful and relaxing time. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to get away.

Our daughter decided to have her wedding small and personable. She found your place on the Internet. We booked almost a year ago to be able to get her date. This Inn is the most perfect place to have a small and personable wedding. It could have not been any better. Everything went perfect and right on time. What a wonderful place to spend time with both families and get to know everyone. We are planning to come back in the future. The staff made our little girls day the best it could have been. What a special place.

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon, and I have to say this is the best lodging I have ever had. We stayed in the cottage which is beyond words, the owners are super nice and breakfast is outstanding. If you stay anywhere else you are missing out.

What a fantastic place to stay, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. My husband and I stayed for three nights in three different rooms. Two of the rooms had whirlpool baths for two. We did both the birthday package and the romance package - one included a cake, the other chocolate dipped strawberries and champagne, both included breakfast in bed. We took a paddle boat out on the lake, my husband fished and caught bluegill, we hiked in the woods and had a private picnic lunch for two, we swam in the pool, soaked in the hot tub, and watched a movie from the DVD library. The refrigerator is stocked with complimentary sodas and the honor bar had a wonderful selection of wine and beer. The privacy of this inn gave you the feeling of seclusion, yet we were minutes from town, which boasted both chain stores and restaurants, as well as a historic district with eclectic shops and one of a kind dining. I would recommend this bed and breakfast to all of my friends and relatives and will definitely return myself.

Wonderful B&B. The house and grounds were so quiet even though it was full. Our room was clean and the jacuzzi tub was perfectly relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the amenities on the property, including the pool, hot tub, paddleboats on the lake, and trail through the woods. And the breakfast was absolutely delicious! Although it was just 30 minutes from home, it felt like a million miles away. We will definitely be returning!!

We stayed at the Inn last year and couldn't wait to return this year! We were able to check the calendar and scheduled a time when the Inn wasn't so full (eary in the week). If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing retreat in a beautiful location, you couldn't ask for a more perfect place. The owners are incredibly friendly and accomodating but not intrusive in any way. The presentation of the food was not only beautiful but it was equally ample, delicious and nutritious with a French flare. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and well maintained. Beverly and Patrick's enthusiam and plans for the Inn's future are infectious. Although Excellsior Springs isn't a large town they have a good selection of restaurants with great food - Ventana Gourmet Grill & Wabash BBQ are two we love. We had such a wonderful relaxing and romantic time, we're already looking forward to next year's visit!

Wanting to spend our 35th anniversary somewhere special, we could not have found a more romantic getaway than The Inn at Crescent Lake, had we spent another 35 years looking for one! From the moment we arrived and owner Beverly greeted us at the door, til the time we sadly had to leave left two days later, our stay was everything we hoped for and more! While the main house with its storied history has some wonderful and unique rooms, we stayed in ‘The Cottage’, a two story retreat (formerly the estate’s Carriage House) which overlooks one of the two crescent shaped ponds that surround the 22 acre grounds. Being detached from the main house, we felt like we had the whole estate to ourselves, which is just what we were looking for. The large living room / dining room / kitchen area is on the main floor, with the bedroom, sitting area and bath on the 2nd level. Breakfast each day was brought to our house (as this extra service comes with renting The Cottage), with the option of being served in the main house in a beautiful Solarium which has an indoor water feature that was part of the original build of the estate in 1915. The French cuisine we enjoyed both mornings reflects the owners’ background and heritage, as proprietors Beverly and her husband Patrick hail from France. Days were spent around the large pool, walks on the grounds, and paddle boat rides. And when that wasn’t enough, we’d venture into nearby Excelsior Springs to browse the shops, and sample the local restaurants in the evenings. (if you love BBQ, you gotta go to Wabash BBQ!) We’re already planning our next trip back to The Inn at Crescent Lake, except this time we’re not waiting 35 years…. We’re going back again next year!!! Bob & Sherry

Trinity Lutheran Church selected the Inn on Crescent Lake for our fall staff retreat. Our experience was nothing short of incredible. The facility and setting was beautiful, the sleeping rooms were comfortable, roomy and plesant, the meeting area was excellent, and the food and service were outstanding. We particularly enjoyed the quiet and comfortable living area where we had most of our meetings. We would have spent more time in the peaceful outside areas had the weather not been so damp and cool. Recommended highly for small organizations looking for a great retreat setting.

My husband and I decided to Honeymoon in September 2008, a few months after we married in July 2008. We wanted to take our close friends along, so we honeymooned with 2 other couples. We searched all Bed & Breakfast in Missouri. The prices at the Inn were great, and the rooms awesome. It didn't take long for us to figure out that this was the place for us. The website is very helpful and the Inn keepers were a great help via email while we were planning our stay. The Inn is beautiful. It is nicely secluded, surrounded by nature. Walking trail, stocked lake complete with paddle boats and bass boat, hammock, hot tub, swimming pool, massage therapist on duty, outdoor fire place, gazebo, solarium for breakfast. My husband and I stayed in the cottage, it is beautiful. So nice to have room for all our friends to sit and visit, eat and play games. The tub big enough for two was my favorite. The whole place is decorated so nicely. Having Breakfast delivered to us at the cottage was also very nice. One of the couples stayed in the Cabana House. Very nice. I was jealous that there tub was right in the room with their bed. Very neat decor in there... Wildlife theme. Awesome that it was right by the pool, too. The other couple stayed in the main house in the Ballroom, which is the honeymoon suite. It was very nice, as well. I love all the window seats in there. Perfect for reading, which I am sure they enjoyed doing. The Inn Keepers were so very nice and accommodating. The fridge stocked with soda, wine to purchase, complementary wine our first night there, wonderful breakfast, nice house keeper, thorough tour upon arrival, and things I am sure I have overlooked at the moment made our stay so very nice. All of us wish to return next year. Maybe bring along some more friends. We will return to The Inn on Crescent next year, if not before.

We got married at the Inn in september 07 and we had a fantastic time. The wedding package was excellent value for money. The owners were more than helpful and made it into a very speacial day for us both. Our only regret is that we only stayed one night so if we ever go back to the states we will have to make it a priority to go back.

I won a 2 night stay through Country Mart. My husband and I have been married 29 years and never really took a trip after we were married. This was an EXCEPTIONAL TRIP - loved the atmosphere - very quiet and relaxing and really enjoyed visiting the historic sites in the area. Have recommended to our friends. If we get a chance would visit again.
