We stayed 2 nights in their best room (King Suite). The inn is extremely clean and well-maintained including an Amish chambermaid. Generous, delicious, and exotic breakfasts are some of the best we have experienced at any B&B. The innkeepers are pleasant and very knowledgeable about the area. They also provide a constant supply of treats and home-made desserts. On our second night the inn was completely full including the cottage out back, but the high level of service was maintained throughout.
The inn has many amenities including a pool and high speed wireless internet. The only two small items to note for the discerning traveler are your preference for sleep number beds (All rooms have them) and there is an occasional train in the distance.
They have a great country location just outside Bremen between US 31 (South Bend) and Nappanee that provides easy access to lots of activities. We recommend:
- In room massage services from Fran (1hour $60)
- Potato Creek State Park, 17 miles (Swimming, Fishing, Canoeing)
- Rentown Country Store (Get there early for fresh Amish breads, pies, etc)
- The Vine restaurant in Plymouth, 16 miles
Avoid the Wooden Peel in Bremen (Long wait, average food)

In Amish Country our restaurants close at 8 PM. The quiet simple life of the Amish is about relaxing and taking life slow. So I always let my guests know about local restaurants and area attractions. I am sorry they misunderstood my helpfulness about the area as controlling. Our policy is no meals are to be eaten in the room. I suggested to this group of three people to please eat their dinner at one of the tables in the swimming pool room, dining room or outside garden patio area. Some places are the innkeeper's private quarters. I prepared for them a hot hearty breakfast each morning with lots of gourmet coffee. I only had a chance to speak with them on a couple of occasions, the rest of the time they stayed in their room or was sightseeing. I accommodated them by letting them drop their 4 dogs off in the "Doggie Hotel" before check-in time and I extended their check-out time for the 4 dogs with no extra charge for these services. They were celebrating their 38 year old son's birthday, so I baked him a complimentary cake. I extended the indoor pool hours for them, so they could swim after the posted hours. It seemed no matter what I did, they did not appreciate it. I always try to meet all our guest's expectations and on a rare occasion, no matter how hard I try I can't make them happy. I am sorry I failed these folks, not sure what else I could have done for them.

The guests came in for one night stay with a $100 bed and breakfast.com gift card. They owed a little extra on their bill and they did not have the exact change nor did I have change at checkin to give them their $6.00. After they checkout the next day, I remembered I owed them the $6.00 in change and called them to say I was sorry and I would send it. Time got away from me and I have been busy at the B&B with other guests (our other guests would have said just keep it for your tip, we appreciate your hard work). A few weeks ago I finally sat down and sent them a thank you card, their $6.00 and a $10 gift certificate to use at their next visit with us within the next 6 months, to say I was sorry for the delay. I hope they continue to enjoy staying at B&B's. I would prefer that they use their credit card and not cash next time.
