Wonderful B and B run by the very warm and friendly owners, Hank and Barb. Beautiful home, great food (accomodated my special diet of no gluten, no dairy), and close to downtown Traverse City. I will return!

This is a beautifully restored and inviting inn. The rooms are beautifully appointed with period furniture and accessories. Breakfasts are a very special event and dietary needs are exceptionally met. The location is within walking distance of the beach and downtown. The neighborhood is lovely, quiet and a step back into a quieter time. We had a great time.

....A wonderful time at the beautifully restored Wellington Inn. Barb and Hank are gracious hosts, and have created a vibrant and welcoming environment for their guests. Rooms are impeccably furnished with antiques, yet the atmosphere is anything but stuffy. The abundant cooked breakfast exceeded expectations. Not to be missed on a trip to Michigan's' northwest!

Fabulous place to stay . . extremely convenient location . . it was quiet, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The rooms were well supplied with towels and amenities. There was a kitchen area stocked with wine, soft drinks, etc. and snacks, cookies, etc. free of charge. The breakfasts were simply delicious and different every day, served in a beautiful dining room. And, the innkeepers could not have been more friendly and helpful . . they were delightful . . and made our stay very special.

Our stay at the Wellington was an absolute delight. We felt so refreshed after our visit. Barb and Hank were terrific inn keepers. They also welcomed our local family to breakfast as well. I would suggest to anyone visiting this area to definitely consider this instead of the rat race of hotels along the shore. The rooms are more amazing in person and may I suggest taking the time to appreciate all the rennovations they have done to bring it back to its glory.

Step back in time to tranquility - a magnificent home with historical details that will delight all who wish to leave the fast paced techno world. Barb welcomes you like a family member coming home - a home that is absolutely gorgeous, spotless, and full of history and stories. Decor is top notch, home baked cookies awesome, proximity to town/restaurants ideal. Apartments are special - full of character and charm. Three visits makes us want to return here again and again! The Wellington is one of the most outstanding B & B's you will ever have the good fortune to stay in. Barb and Hank are like that favorite aunt and uncle you love to visit. The home is so unbelieveably restored and elegant. When you walk through that front door and view the parlor, you feel as if you have stepped back in time to 1905. My husband and I have stayed at several B & B's all over the country, but this is the best! Barb is a gourmet cook and breakfast each morning was special. We plan on returning each fall for the colors of Michigan and the best B&B, THE WELLINTON! You will be enchanted.

We just returned from our vacation in Traverse City, Michigan we stayed at the Wellington Inn. Of all the bed and breakfast Inn's We have stayed at we have to rate the Wellington Inn as the best. The House itself was beautiful with all the antiques Barb and Hank did a wonderful job renovating it.We stayed on the 2nd floor in the Woosley suite. It had a private balcony and it was as if you went back in time with all the beautiful antiques in the room. We did look at all the other rooms, and each room was decorated in an exquisite style. You can't go wrong in any of the rooms. You were welcomed by Barb and she gave us hints as to where to eat and go see the sites.I can't wait to go back again. Barb and Hank are wonderful people who make you feel at home. Thanks again Barb for making our vacation memorable.

The lovely and romantic Woolsey Suite is especially popular with our bridal and anniversary guests. Whether it’s relaxing in the private sitting room before the fireplace, or enjoying an evening of stargazing from the private balcony, our guests are promised a memorable stay! The first floor Corbett Suite offers guests the luxury of a private sitting room that was originally enjoyed by the family for informal gathering with close friends.

The adjoining bed chamber, formerly the owners’ daughters’ playroom, includes the original built-in cupboards and a beautifully restored mural that was a delightful discovery during the recent restoration.
The beautiful Ferris bed chamber provides guests with a quiet retreat from their busy day. The private bath, originally the servants’ sewing room, includes a 2-person air-jetted whirlpool that guarantees a relaxing end to the day.The Munson bed chamber includes a private balcony overlooking the historic neighborhood and, in particular, the mansion built by the original owners’ father, Henry Hull.
This stunning bed chamber, the Milliken, is one of the original guest rooms, features vintage fabrics and antique draperies adorning the large, 3rd floor windows. The adjoining private bath is truly a jewel, with hand painted roses adorning the vanity and marble tile. One can almost hear the sound of fine crystal and great conversation that must have taken place around the massive table that once occupied this turn-of-the-century dining room.

Today this beautiful room, with it original stained glass ceiling and wall fixtures, is our guest dining room where we continue using fine china and silver to serve gourmet breakfasts and private afternoon teas.
The elegance of this room reflects the Hulls’ penchant for grand entertainment. Magnificent leaded glass windows embellish the conservatory space above the cushioned seating area where guests could relax, converse and enjoy the merriment. Today, this is a beautiful setting for intimate weddings. As you enter the Carriage House Deco apartment you will drive back in time to the 1930’s. Art Deco furnishings, authentic fixtures and vintage appliances evoke the spirit of more innocent era. Today, with two bedrooms and baths, living room and balcony, it’s an ideal spot for an extended stay.
The library’s original built-in bookcases provide guests with a great variety of reading materials that can be enjoyed before a blazing fire.
