Truly a delight to stay here. The ambience alone was enough to draw us in. The inn's architecture, size & scale of the rooms and entryway, and the appointment with fine antiques throughout gave us at once a sense of grandeur and tranquility. The setting was beautiful. All this was surpassed only by the truly outstanding gourmet breakfast. Our multi-talented hosts also happen to be gourmet chefs who served up a breakfast that included vegetables from their own garden, including peppers in the omelets and cooked-up tomatoes as a side serving as well as home-made, warm applesauce. But for us, la piece de resistance was the crepes. They were a work of art in and of themselves with kiwi, strawberries, and caramelized bananas, warm maple syrup, and fresh whipped creme and powdered sugar gracing beautiful antique dishes. The experience was heightened by the surroundings. Sitting beside a sunny large window overlooking a park along Passamaquoddy Bay, we were dining among gorgeous antiques. Each table was unique, but the dining room was unified by the small French white chairs and table linens. How often does one enjoy breakfast while listening to soft classical music beside a baby grand piano? With not a single detail overlooked, our hosts were humbly gracious. Joan has her artist gallery across the driveway and some of her paintings gracing the entry hall, and Tron is a professional violisit and pianist who conducts a symphony orchestra he has formed with half its musicians being from the States and half from nearby Canada. We couldn't possibly recommend this beautiful inn highly enough. The pictures are impressive yet still can't capture the loveliness of an experience staying here. If you're looking for a bit of peaceful tranquility in an elegant setting, you'll certainly find it at this inn.
