Window panes fit poorly together leading to a night of outside air hitting my neck. Reading wasn't much of a pleasure as energy saving dim light bulbs seemed to be the norm. shower seemed to be less than hot if any one of the other rooms were also taking a shower. And since when is a room the size of a closet cost $219 with all the other disadvantages described above?

The building was very traditional to the Boston area. Our room was facing the main street and every 10 minutes throughout the night you could hear the train go by. The breaker tripped when I was drying my hair. The "breakfast" was very small. They had bagels (no cream cheese-they were out), one day they had instant oatmeal, the next day they did not have any more. It is basically bagels, muffins, and coffee. We had to park in a back alley and squeeze the car into a "space" that was terribly small.

Nice rooms, average service. The word "breakfast" makes you expect more than you get here, still acceptable.

The Beacon Inn is pleasantly located in a residential area, although feet away from the T-trains. Lots of local dining and shopping around, and downtown is easily accessible too. I liked the quiet and pleasant atmosphere, although my room had a brand new flat screen TV and they have wireless internet as well. Nice mix of modern amenities and old school charm.

We found the staff to be very helpful and pleasant. The room, which we were not aware of when booking , was an emergency exit room. The exit sign was at the foot of the bed and shown right into our faces. The bedspread was torn and dirty as were the pillow shams. Floor was bare and stickey. Commode, sink and tub were clean but parts of bathroom weren't. Locks on doors were loose and hard to lock. We feel we certainly could not recommend this B&B

I recently stayed at the Beacon Inn to go to a Red Sox Game. Not only was the location perfect (walked to the Inn) but the service was great. Everyone was very helpful! I have stayed at the Beacon Inn before and enjoyed my stayed last time as well, but the improvements that they have made where obvious. Breakfast had especially improved. I would definetly recomend this inn. It is affordable and extremely convinient in its locations.

Our family stayed at the Beacon Inn in July 2007. We noted the following: 1. room was extremely unclean 2. "breakfast"was small stale bagels and the person on duty refused to make additional coffee for guests even after being asked by several guests 3.Safety issues-air conditioner was a window unit with an extension cord. We noted several times that lights, etc. would fade due to overload on the circuits
