My husband and I spent a week at the Greenlake Guest House in Seattle for our anniversary. The home was amazing in a wonderful location with many good restaurants within walking distance. The home is across from the lake and the walk around the lake is just right. We loved our room with a view of the lake. Everything was spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was different each day and always tasted fabulous. Blayne and Julie were amazing hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip. We will definitely return.

We were made to feel at home and looked after splendidly by our hosts who were helpful and offered excellent advice on what to visit and where to eat. Nothing was too much trouble. Location was excellent for sightseeing and shopping and access to freeways. It was good to be able share stories at breakfast with other guests and the hosts.

Our stay at Greenlake was unforgettable. The room was outstanding, with a view of the lake and park across the street. The bed was easily one of the most comfortable we have ever slept on, the bathroom was spacious and clean, and the separate shower and tub were excellent. Breakfast was delicious and there are too many food options in the local area to name for going out for a meal. The host and hostess were kind and very helpful. We will definitely return. Loved it, loved it, loved it!!

Hospitality, exceeded our expectation. A 1900 house restored to a B&B HOME away from home. Every detail was wonderful! Especially the heated bathroom floor tiles...and the dreamy jetted tub for two with candle light! Delightful..Bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was perfect, didn't need lunch on the drive home. Will visit often as our daughter and family live close by. Very relaxing and romantic place. Lovely!

We came from Berlin to spend 6 nights at the Greenlake House and it was one the best stays we had in a b&b. Julie and Wayne (the owners) really know how to run their bussiness and keeping the guests satisfied during their stay in Seattle. The feeling of being at home started straight when we arrived at the Greenlake. With a warm welcome, all the information you need to visit the area and ofcourse the beatiful house, neigbourhood, the lakeview and of course the rooms. They are just fantastic at it`s really like you`re at your own place. Now lets talk about the breakfast: It´s enormus what Julie and wayne prepared in the kitchen for breakfast. Not the way it is as in many b&b`s where you get after the third day the same breakfast as on the first one but they seem to have an enormus repertior of breakfast meals and they are flexible as well. If you want something different than what the menu says, no problem. As our daugther studies in Seattle we asked them if she could come over to have breakfast with us and we had a beautiful start of another great day in Seattle. Due to our voyage to Vancouver we had the previlage to stay in 2 different rooms at the b&b and they were both much more than we expected. Even on our late arrival we got aother warm welcome. On the photos in the www, you only see a small part of the rooms and once you get in there are all kinds of details and all made with perfection, you don`t want to leave anymore. Wayne also know his way around in the restaurant scene and the adiveses he gave us where just the once we where looking for. So for us it was the best stay in Seattle and I would recommend the Greenlake Guest House to anybody who wants to visit Seattle or the needs to have a break.

Greenlake Guest House was perfect. Blayne greeted us warmly w/ fireplace going & afternoon brownies & tea. Our front bedroom faced beautiful Green Lake. We had 2 different rooms; they were both wonderful. Rooms are decorated tastefully, not frilly & cutesy. Beds were great. Had access to water, drinks, tea & baked goods at all hours. Breakfasts were amazing. My husband & I like to eat light, & I can't have eggs or cheese. Julie was extremely accomodating & still provided me w/ fabulous breakfasts. We were even able to have our Seattle daughter join us for one of our breakfasts. Julie & Blayne are lovely, interesting hosts. I guarantee that you will be treated royally if you stay at the Greenlake Guesthouse.

We stayed in the Parkview room for three nights during a late summer heatwave in Seattle. The room was exactly as it appeared on the website and had plenty of storage space. It was a bit too hot to take advantage of the hot tub, but the bed was large and extremely comfortable and there is a “day bed” which was good to lounge around on. The house is beautifully decorated throughout. Green Lake is directly across the street and is beautiful and you can enjoy a lovely afternoon ramble there. We ate at some of the local restaurants, all of which were very good, and Julie has a very informative folder of all the local restaurants arranged by distance from the guest house – what a great idea! Breakfast was fantastic – and abundant! We found that we didn’t need much lunch, and any mid afternoon hunger pangs were swiftly dealt with by the delicious cookies and other sweet treats that Julie made every day. The 24/7 sodas and water were much appreciated too – a nice touch! Julie and Blayne are great hosts, it was a shame that we were out doing things every day and didn’t have much of a chance to spend a lot of time talking with them (or indeed the other guests who were also lovely). I am so glad that we didn’t stay in town, it was an easy 10 minute walk plus 15 minute ride into downtown Seattle, the buses were easy to use even for us Brits (and the bus drivers are very helpful), and the neighbourhood is very welcoming – there were no places where we felt vulnerable as tourists. As well as fridge containing the 24/7 sodas, the landing has a bookcase with plentiful books and magazines to read, and a fantastic library of Oscar winning/nominated DVD's which we made full use of. We will definitely stay here when we are next in Seattle. Thanks to Blayne and Julie (and Emma the beagle!)

You could not ask for a better place to stay! The rooms are immaculately clean and the owners, Blayne & Julie McAferty, make you feel right at home. Julie fixes breakfasts fit for a king or queen, very delicious and filling. Sitting at the breakfast table visiting with the other guests, with some prompting from Blayne, was a wonderful way to start the day. In the sunroom, Julie always had freshly baked cookies, brownies or fresh fruit along with a hot pot of water ready for making your favorite warm late night snack at the end of a busy day. There was a laptop computer available for use in the living room that came in handy for printing our boarding passes for our flight home. If you have your own laptop, they provide you access to their wireless service. There was also had a binder full of information on local places to see, shop and eat that Julie updates regularly. The location was perfect, across the street from Greenlake which has a 2.8 mile path around it for early morning strolls, evening walks, jogging or rollerblading, if you're so inclined. It's a beautiful, serene and safe area with places a short walking distance away to eat or have a snack. The trip into the city of Seattle to see the sites is just a 15 minute drive away. We highly recommend the Greenlake Guest House for a quite, relaxing, home-like place to stay. Our daughter, who lives in Seattle, found this place for us to celebrate our 40th Anniversary. She certainly picked a great place! My husband even enjoyed it which is saying a lot as I have a hard time getting him away from our home in Texas! Please know that you won't find a more enjoyable place to stay. We rate it as an A++++, 5 star experience.

Stayed 3 nights (check-in on Monday, check-out on Thursday) at the end of July to rest and wind down after a business trip to Seattle. I wanted to check in earlier, which I could (1pm). The first good surprise was that the room was even ready before standard availability time when I arrived. The check-in process was accurate and straightforward. A couple e-mails were exchanged before my visit, so basically nearly everything had been dealt with in advance. Both the bedroom and bathroom are exactly as described on the website, extremely comfortable and with more than enough storage space for the luggage. The Greenlake Guest House is well decorated and maintained. The surroundings and the Green Lake constitute beautiful scenery along which one can walk, run or rest. The secure WiFi Internet connection offered to the guests worked immediately and reliably. I could use it consistently from my room as well as from the common living room. The Innkeeper, Julie, is very helpful and goes out of her way to ensure a memorable stay. The breakfast is served between 8am-9:15am and - as Julie is an excellent cook - is a great way to start the day. There is a standard breakfast menu, but alternative options can be flexibly selected, and additional servings are available. Bottled water, sodas, fruits and delicious home-made cookies are available 24/24 in the common areas. Would I come back to Greenlake Guest House? Yes, definitely.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Greenlake Guest House. The hosts, Julie and Blayne, were warm and inviting. The home was clean and tastefully decorated and there were fresh brownies and tea or coffee available for snacking anytime in the sunny sitting room facing the lake. The path around the lake was perfect for walking, in-line skating, jogging and unwinding after a busy day of museums and shopping. Breakfasts were delicious...my first morning's breakfast consisted of poached pear, eggs done any way I prefered, homefries, freshly baked scones, juices and of course bottomless cups of coffee or tea. The bedroom was quiet and the adjoining bath with big white fluffy towels felt like a spa. I would like to make the Greenlake Guest House a part of my next stay in Seattle.

The owners were great with providing requested maps, ideas for eating and sightseeing, and the house is perfectly located on the lake. Easy access for great running/walking around the lake and within walking distance from several great eateries and coffee shops! The "Inn" is a 1920's home that has been almost completely remodeled and upgraded. The owners attention to detail is impressive: a catalog of local restaurants and walking distance from inn (we liked the lobster chowder at Duke's), inquiry about food allergies or food requirements (nice), extensive video DVD library, complementary beverages and snacks, organic soaps etc. Breakfast is very good and different each morning. Owner provided helpful maps printed out for us, provided directions and suggestions for touring and dining. View of Green Lake is nice and the inn is in a quiet residential area. The common area is comfortable and roomy. Plenty of parking on street or side street. Would definately go back.
