What a pleasure it was to stay at this bed & breakfast.
We had just come from Linville Caverns, roughly an hour away, when I realized I had forgotten when their check-in times were for the bed & breakfast. I called and one of the owner's, Jeanne, said not to worry, that whatever time I came in, she'd be there to welcome us.
Already delighted by their outstanding hospitality, pulling in to Chateau was like pulling in to something from a dream. The view was incredible and the house itself was well kept and immaculate. Jeanne welcomed us and helped us decide where to go for dinner (The Black Forest is absolutely amazing, make sure to ask for David as your server) and she gave us some history of the house.
The room we stayed in was the Northern Lights situated on the end of the house on the second story. Not to sound monotonous, but it was truly gorgeous. I had to pole vault to get onto the bed, but the gas fireplace was lovely and we watched a movie brought from home on their flat screen television. The jacuzzi was very nice and romantic, however we (and when I say we, I mean my boyfriend) didn't bother to read the instructions on the jacuzzi so it was slightly awkward, and it got cold very quickly. The large shower made up for it, however.
The only true downside was that the heat in the house had been turned on high it seems, and we were boiling throughout the night. I'll admit, we were naughty and opened the windows.
The breakfast in the morning left a little to be desired. For some reason I felt pancakes and sausage was a little anti-climactic compared to the elegance and grandeur of the house, however it was OK and we filled up quickly.
All in all, the view, the room and the service were top notch. Be prepared to open some windows if you're staying in the top story in the winter.
Chateau, we can't wait to see you again.

My wife and I received a three-night stay at CotM for our 30th Anniversary as a gift from our children. Jeanne was very helpful with our son in planning the getaway, for which we are very grateful. The scenery from our room was spectacular, even at night...Fletcher appears to be just a stone's throw away in the clear mountain air. Lee's breakfast-with-a-smile was a delightful way to get the day started, and Jeanne was the perfect hostess, knowing just when to be available. The room was large, well appointed and quite comfortable, with its own spa room and very modern bath. Very well worth the trip from Raleigh. OH...the "Y" in the title...that's for Yodee, a kitten, new to the Chateau, that came with a heartwarming story. Thanks, Lee. Thanks, Jeanne View Reviewer Info

My husband, my daughter and I just had a wonderful trip to Asheville, and stayed in Chateau On the Mountain for 2 nights. And we loved everything that this Bed & Breakfast has to offer, here are just a few out of the many that we are really impressed: the dream like sunset view from our Biltmore suite balcony, healthy and tastey breakfast with great mountain view, very warm and intelligent innkeeper Jeanne and Lee, artistic interior decorations, a beautiful mansion with a swimming pool, and with all the wonderful amentities, this bed and breakfast is conveniently situated near several local Asheville attractions like Biltmore Estate, Chimey Rock Park, Ashville downtown...this is the one place that my family likes to stay again in the future. Thank you Jeanne and Lee for sharing your beautiful home with us! View Reviewer Info
