What a pleasure it was to stay at this bed & breakfast. We had just come from Linville Caverns, roughly an hour away, when I realized I had forgotten when their check-in times were for the bed & breakfast. I called and one of the owner's, Jeanne, said not to worry, that whatever time I came in, she'd be there to welcome us. Already delighted by their outstanding hospitality, pulling in to Chateau was like pulling in to something from a dream. The view was incredible and the house itself was well kept and immaculate. Jeanne welcomed us and helped us decide where to go for dinner (The Black Forest is absolutely amazing, make sure to ask for David as your server) and she gave us some history of the house. The room we stayed in was the Northern Lights situated on the end of the house on the second story. Not to sound monotonous, but it was truly gorgeous. I had to pole vault to get onto the bed, but the gas fireplace was lovely and we watched a movie brought from home on their flat screen television. The jacuzzi was very nice and romantic, however we (and when I say we, I mean my boyfriend) didn't bother to read the instructions on the jacuzzi so it was slightly awkward, and it got cold very quickly. The large shower made up for it, however. The only true downside was that the heat in the house had been turned on high it seems, and we were boiling throughout the night. I'll admit, we were naughty and opened the windows. The breakfast in the morning left a little to be desired. For some reason I felt pancakes and sausage was a little anti-climactic compared to the elegance and grandeur of the house, however it was OK and we filled up quickly. All in all, the view, the room and the service were top notch. Be prepared to open some windows if you're staying in the top story in the winter. Chateau, we can't wait to see you again.

The best part was the beautiful view. Plus, we really appreciated that they were pet friendly & our room was very private & cozy. My only critique would be that the food was just okay. We have been to B&Bs with much more variety in the past.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay....three nights was not long enough. The hosts, Lee, Jeanne, and Crystal were exceptional in every respect. The lovely food, great breakfast and excellent conversation certainly exceeded our expectations. The location worked well for us so that we could do trips to Hendersonville, Asvhille, Highlands and Cashiers. We would like to return to this outstanding bed and breakfast!!!

My wife and I received a three-night stay at CotM for our 30th Anniversary as a gift from our children. Jeanne was very helpful with our son in planning the getaway, for which we are very grateful. The scenery from our room was spectacular, even at night...Fletcher appears to be just a stone's throw away in the clear mountain air. Lee's breakfast-with-a-smile was a delightful way to get the day started, and Jeanne was the perfect hostess, knowing just when to be available. The room was large, well appointed and quite comfortable, with its own spa room and very modern bath. Very well worth the trip from Raleigh. OH...the "Y" in the title...that's for Yodee, a kitten, new to the Chateau, that came with a heartwarming story. Thanks, Lee. Thanks, Jeanne

We stayed at Chateau on the Mountain for a one night getaway and it was perfect. A spectacular location looking down the valley and we watch an incredible sunset from out room's balcony. The room was very large and very comfortable with many luxuries. The owners were very gracious and welcoming and their knowledge of the area made our wanderings very easy. We will definitely return and have already recommended it to our friends.

Unbelievably beautiful - the view, the house, the room, the drive!! It was quite an upward climb to drive up to the house, but the view was amazing. We were literally "above" the clouds at dawn. All of the rooms are very nice, but the two "honeymoon suites" are extravagant. A newer home with more contemporary decor, so there is no "old house" or "old quilt" smell! Away from everything, but only minutes to Hendorsonville or Asheville.

We stayed in the Biltmore Suite and found it to be wonderful. Lots of space, huge bathroom, and the private balcony overlooking the mountains made this the perfect room! Jeanne and Lee were very warm and attentive, yet gave us space to "do our own thing". This inn is great if you want to feel secluded, yet still be close enough to great restaurants and attractions. We would most definitely return!

We spent 4 lovely days at Chateau on the Mountain. We found the Northern Lights suite comfortable, light and airy--with a glorious view of the valley and Blue Ridge Mountains. This B&B feels like an exclusive, private estate -- but Jeanne & Lee made us feel quite at home. Lots of great dining & sights within easy driving distance (we especially enjoyed the NC Arboretum).

My wife and I spent a wonderful weekend at the Chateau on the Mountain. Lee and Jeanne were great hosts. The property is beautiful and we had a great view of the mountains and the valley below. The suggestion I could offer would be to improve the selection on the breakfast items. It would have been nice to have some "Southern Cuisine" such as grits, eggs, or pancakes along with the fruit, hash browns and toast with pepperoni that was served one of the days. I would definately recommend this bed and breakfast and would consider returning again.

We really enjoyed spending time at the Chateau on the Mountain. After seeing all of the sights in Western North Carolina, it was great to come back to such a comfortable and welcoming B&B. The room was clean and inviting, the food was delicious, and we really enjoyed the state-of-the-art jacuzzi in our room. We'd recommend it to anyone who wants a romantic get-away in the heart of the Blue Ridge.

My husband, my daughter and I just had a wonderful trip to Asheville, and stayed in Chateau On the Mountain for 2 nights. And we loved everything that this Bed & Breakfast has to offer, here are just a few out of the many that we are really impressed: the dream like sunset view from our Biltmore suite balcony, healthy and tastey breakfast with great mountain view, very warm and intelligent innkeeper Jeanne and Lee, artistic interior decorations, a beautiful mansion with a swimming pool, and with all the wonderful amentities, this bed and breakfast is conveniently situated near several local Asheville attractions like Biltmore Estate, Chimey Rock Park, Ashville downtown...this is the one place that my family likes to stay again in the future. Thank you Jeanne and Lee for sharing your beautiful home with us!

We spent a wonderful week at Chateau on the Mountain. The innkeepers Lee and Jeanne were fantastic hosts and became good friends by the time we had to leave. Lee is the chef and Jeanne is the brains of the operation. They are skilled at providing the perfect balance between meeting your every need and giving you plenty of “space.” Breakfast was served with a keen sense of humor. The inn was a great jumping off point for day visits in all directions around the Asheville/Fletcher area. The .9 mile road up to the inn was a fun adventure. Be sure and ask your hosts about the “road story.” We had a delightful vacation in North Carolina and our Chateau experience was the principal reason. A truly wonderful getaway which we highly recommend. Faye and David, Jonesboro, Arkansas

Our anniversary is in July and having moved to NC, we usually have hot and humid times to expect when we do something to celebrate. But you'll find a trip to the mountains a cooler and less humid time, and so we did at the 'Chateau on the Mountain'. The view was great, the location quiet, and the rooms were comfortable and relaxing. The Inn Keepers - Lee and Jeanne were great conversationalists - warm and friendly. Unfortunately during our visit the spa tub in the Sterling Castle was on the blink, though it was still a comfy soak for two. Favorite part was after a five hour trip there and arriving early evening, we had perviously requested the "Dinner is Served" reservation. Was nice to relax in our room and enjoy a yummy dinner for two. Being only 20 minutes from Asheville, you are not far all sorts of activities as well. We stayed two nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
