We could not have been more pleased with our stay at the bashful mermaid. It was our first B & B experiance and it was awesome! All the rooms were very clean and well decorated. Oh my GOSH! The Bashful Mermaid is fantastic! I can not say enough good things and the room and Diane. The room were perfect! Extra clean, fresh, gorgeous. We stayed in the Stowaway Suite and it was so great to have the extra room. The breakfast were delicous and elegant. Diane served us with a friendly manner, without being intrusive. As I pull in the driveway, enter the main room off the big porch and see the platter of fresh baked cookies, I feel my stress roll off my body. As I ascend the stairs to my room and then enter it, I feel completely relaxed and comfortable. This is my place to go when I need to be alone and pampered and Diane and Larry do that perfectly. They spoil me! Every visit it's as if I never left.

My husband and I just spent the weekend here for our 25th anniversary. An excellent deal! The Freedman's are sweet people and we felt instantly at home. The accomodations were perfect the food was great and we had the best 2 nights rest we have had in a long time. Will be staying again soon.

My husband I stayed at the Bashful Mermaid for a weekend in July. Diane and her husband were extremely helpful and hospitable. It was my husband's birthday and Diane made him a cake. We were out and when we got back she also had a card and a bottle of wine for us. It was a nice surprise. They also told us about a wonderful Mexican Restaurant which we tried and were delighted. We would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone planning to stay in the area. Her carrot muffins are delicious.

This bed and breakfast is a wonderful place to stay while enjoying the Lake Erie Islands. The room and common areas were warm and inviting and impeccably clean. The breakfasts and homemade cookies were outstanding. We enjoyed our stay in the Island Goddess room...very spacious and very clean. Felt like our own home! The breakfast was served with a smile, and the food was wonderful. Such a great choice over one of the "chain hotels" in the area around Cedar Point. They also gave us a 10% discount card to the Jet Express, which was most appreciated. We would stay here again.

this was the perfect choice for our girls weekend retreat to the lake. our rooms easily had room for 5. we enjoyed everything from our private porch, dining area and large bathroom to the hot tub. we felt welcomed and comfortable right from the start in the lovely,spotlessly clean home

Wow, is all we can say. My wife and I really loved this B&B. We stay in B&B's quite frequently when we visit Put-in-Bay. We loved the rooms, they were large and filled with lots of special touches (that my wife just loved). The owners were very friendly and made us feel welcome. The food was fantastic. If your looking for a great B&B stay at the Bashful Mermaid. We stayed there while visiting the islands and found this B&B one the best so far. The rooms are beautifully unique. The breakfast was homemade with pleanty of fresh fruit and baked goods. Loved Diane and Larry, they were great hosts. I highly recommend this B&B.

I love this Inn. This is are fourth time staing in Port Clinton. Every Time is better than the next. We have made the Bashful Mermaid Our home away from Home. The place is very well decorated. The beds are better than our own beds at home. The Food is wonderful. I can't wait to our next visit.
