For our 35th anniversary, we had a nice and quiet weekend at Green Gables. We spent time in the colorful nearby towns, plus a relaxing stay in the hot tub!

Green Gables is the most relaxing tranquil place. You wake up to birds chirping. Sit on the patio under the mighty oaks watching the clouds roll by or the stars at night. McBrides retreat is very cozy with lots of special touches the hot tub especially.

The house was small but very comfortable, and the hot tub was wonderful despite the cool weather. We had a coffee pot but only enough coffee for 2\3 of a pot and only enough powdered creamer for a single small cup, and speaking of cups there were 2 large mugs there but they appeared to be decoration, not for use. All in all the stay was pleasant and we did find several good places to eat in the area and 1 excellent steak house. Good value if you want total privacy and quiet.
