The old home was fairly charming, but we think the bedrooms were part of a lower quality addition with low ceilings. Our room (the Pool Room) was closest to the kitchen and we were woken early every morning by the hosts unloading the dishwasher and clanging dishes to prepare breakfast. This was followed every morning by them smoking on a porch across the hall from our room and the cigarette smoke would enter our bedroom. We really only interacted with one host who saw us to our room and served breakfast. He was pretty high maintenance, my wife said it was like staying with an uncle that you don't really like. The house furnishings were decidedly grandmothery and not to our taste. Our mattress AND pillows were like sleeping on concrete. We're pretty open-minded but there was a picture over our tub that we found fairly offensive that definitely should not be forced upon paying guests of unknown morals or beliefs. It was not subtle in any way and even had a ceiling light dedicated to illuminating it. I can't imagine how my parents or grandparents would have reacted if they had paid to stay in that room. It needs to be removed. To give credit where due, the breakfast was very good each morning. This was offset somewhat by the host getting upset if you don't eat everything (as I said, high maintenance), and the dogs constantly begging. I don't know what else is available in the area, but I'd look at other options before staying here.

This place had the best breakfast we've ever been treated to at a B&B -- very filling but not heavy. The guest and atmosphere were warm & friendly and we loved our host -- great personality! We hope to visit again next year!

...thanks to John and Tony! I highly recommend John Morris Manor to anyone who wants more than a room and a meal. John and Tony made us feel like part of the family. My partner and I appreciated all their knowledge of the area, dietary accomodations, and exceptional hospitality. John Morris Manor is at a great location in central New York state to accomplish day trips to all the region has to offer. We will stay here again!

I'd say this was the finest, warmest, most memorable experience I've had in a B&B, but that would imply only B&Bs and only in the US! I have to include all lodging and Europe as well. Do yourself a favor -- stay here!

My daughter and I stayed for two nights the first week of July and boy were we glad we did. We wanted to stay somewhere "safe, comfortable and friendly" and did we find the right place! Chelsea is still talking about the Herb Omlette and homemade jams we had for breakfasts. We felt welcomed upon arrival and really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. If you are looking for a retreat from the "highway hotel circuit" this fits the bill! Plus, the dogs made us feel like we were at home. This B&B is very close to the Waterloo Outlets/Syracuse and you feel like you are staying with family. A+++++

The Inn was just the ticket that we were looking for. We wanted a comfortable place to stay while we visited the Finger Lakes area. John and Tony were very friendly and went out of their way to provide for us in the early hours (4:30 am). Tony wanted to make sure that we, along with the other guests had what we needed before heading off to participate in a race that took place in Seneca Lake on Sunday morning. The accommodations were clean and spacious. We were fortunate enough to have unseasonably cool weather during our visit. The rooms may have been a bit on the hot side if the temps were higher as there did not seem to be air conditioning in the guest rooms. Aside from that, the Inn was a great escape and I would recommend it to my friends.

This B&B is a fantastic find! It is in a beautiful setting and is run by two wonderful hosts who warm and helpful and yet not intrusive in any way. The house is gorgeous but comfortable. My favorite room is the "Pool room" with a terrific jacuzzi tub and direct access to the pool. Breakfasts were delicious with strong coffee and eggs cooked to order!

We went for this Memorial day and our stay could not have been better. The B&B is really comfortable and nice. Tony and John are great hosts, very inviting and friendly. Loved Tony's cooking, amazing breakfasts, very accomodating. I dont eat eggs so he took special care of me, thank you!! The rooms are clean, airy and very comfortable. The dogs are very well behaved, I am scared of dogs in general and the 3 day stay here was no problem with dogs around. If we are in seneca Falls again, we are staying with Tony and John again!!

My wife and I planned a last minute mid-week excursion to the Finger Lakes, and Tony and John could not have been more accomodating. As we drove up to their picturesque Manor, out came Tony to greet us with open arms. Quite a reception and made us feel completely welcome. Tony offered advice on where to eat and quickly made reservations at a fabulous local restaurant. Upon our return, we relaxed with Bender and Bear and the dogs could not have been better behaved. Our breakfast the next morning was "to die for" as Tony treated us like a combination of family and royalty! Unfortunately for us, we had only scheduled one night, and after hugs goodbye, we sadly left wishing we had scheduled multiple nights. We will certainly return again, feeling more like family and less like strangers!

I chose JJM because it is pet friendly and I was traveling with my young dog. Tony and John were wonderful to us both. My room was perfectly turned out and Tony's breakfasts were to die for. Everything was clean and the beds (I stayed in two different rooms) were heaven to sleep on. I couldn't give it a better rating. I was comfortable and quite pleased with eveyrthing.

John and Tony, as well as Bender and Bear, were the perfect hosts during our stay. They welcomed our travelling dog with open arms and made us feel like we were royalty. We have stayed at many B&Bs over the years, but none that have made us feel as welcome as John Morris Manor. Breakfasts were ample and delicious and our room was large and spacious. If you are looking for a place that is away from it all but so close to so much, then this is the place for you. You can't go wrong.

Every B&B of the several dozen we've stayed at has had to some degree a formality about them, an atmosphere dictated by owners who want the guest to know that it is their house and that the guest is being done a very large favor in being 'allowed' to stay there. Not at John Morris. There, we were completely at ease and had a very comfy feeling that we were at home. John & Tony (and their lovable dogs) set the tone. Quite an accomplishment. And, as might be expected, they were so very helpful with recommendations, guidance etc. during our two-day stay.

This is a beautiful place. The house is on a rise overlooking Cayuga lake. The views from the front porch and lawn are spectacular. The common rooms are spacious and inviting. The parlor is a pleasant place to relax with a glass of Finger Lakes wine after a day touring the wineries. The bedrooms are beautifully appointed, the beds are comfortable. The breakfast is delicious, with generous portions. And best of all, Tony and John are wonderful hosts. They are friendly, know the area well - if they make a dinner recommedation, take it, and not in the least intrusive. My wife and I have been four times and we are looking forward to my next stay.

This is the first time I've stayed at the JMM and I will definitely return! The house is extremely well kept and delightfully decorated, and an adventure for people in love with interior design. The owners, John and Tony, clearly understand "guest appeal" with their friendliness and hospitality. Even their small pup is as happy to see you as he is to see them. The rooms are spacious, as are the bathrooms, and all are "squeaky clean". Tony accomodates breakfast to the needs of the guest, and is an excellent cook. Breakfast included scrambled eggs, hashed brown potatos, turkey sausage, English muffins with home made jams, a wide selection of juices, and fresh coffee. The one drawback, if it could even be counted as such, is that the long driveway from the main road is a bit rugged; the house sits atop a hill on a property owned since the early 19th century. But simple common sense caution and not driving like a maniac easily answers the challenge. I can't think of a single reason not to return!
