I am from southeast asia working in middle east.I stayed at Windsor House for 5 days from 16th of May,2009.I booked my room directly from hotel's website.Everything was as promised. No extra frills but all the basic facilities intact.Cleanliness of the hotel, rooms and bathrooms was excellent.Friendly staff, kitchen facilities is a sure bonus for families with young children. After a tiring sightseeing trip you can straightaway come back and make some quick snacks for children in a very homely and truly English atmosphere.Location is unbeatable, restaurants for every nationality and taste are few steps away.Pakistani restaurant star kebab house caters for tourists from subcontinent. All the other consumer item shops and outlet for buying tickets to busy tourist sites are also very near.Yet the hotel is in a quite side street. If safety is in your mind and a decent atmosphere then this is the place.Earl's court subway is at a few minutes walk making every place reachable without waisting time. There is no elevator so this place is not for snobs.some of the work you have to do yourself.Ideal for tourists who want to stay in heart of London at an affordable price.

"Not worth it" 9/20/2009

My husband and I returned from a trip here this past week. We spent a total of 4 nights there with a price tag of 59 pounds per night. I will start of with the good things-the people are friendly and it has a great location-close to the tube and within walking distance Hyde Park, Kensington V & A etc. For the price I did not have very high hopes, but this place had good reviews so I booked it, I also thought the kitchen was an added bonus. We went to our room and it was very small (no problem), the bathroom was the same size as an Rvs-one can barely move and when you took a shower in it the water went everywhere. The sheets were clean but the room was very, very shabby. There was dust hanging from the celing and the curtains were dirty etc. We had to open a window to get some fresh air. Lastly the kitchen is a disgusting mess. There are open containers of coffee, tea, jam in the cupboard. Everything was very, very greasy and there was no soap or sponge to wipe up ones mess. One night we went in and the same crumbs from breakfast were there. For breakfast every morning be prepared for boiled egg, white toast, corn flakes, instant coffee or tea. Bottom line-not worth the money.

The Windsor House Hotel was just the hotel for my stay in London. It is a 2 minute walk from The Earl's Court underground station. There several restaurants within walking distance. The room was comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I thought it a great value!

I´ve been at the windsor house hotel four times last years and I really loved the stay there. The room where clean and have everything to feel confortable. Staff were so helpfull and kind with us and the breakfast was really complete with egg, toast, coffe, tea and cereals. Also, we use a lot the kitchen to have some coffe before dinner and smoke in their lovely back-door garden. Also, we could use the fridge and that is a really good point! and not to forget that it is located in one of the most popular places in london, earl´s court, where pubs are full of young people 7 days a week. Also, 5 minutes from picadilly, soho, etc (there is a tube station and 4 lines) if you visit london and you are looking for a familiar b&b, cheap, clean and very modest place to stay in, windosr house is your choice.

"Value for Money" 12/15/2008

I spent a week at the Winsdor House at the end of 2007 and I am hoping to repeat the experience some time soon. I would particularly recommend the hotel to fellow South Africans as good value for money, taking into account our exchange rate! If you are looking for luxury you will not find it here but you will find a clean, and homely environment. A modest breakfast is included but you are free to add your own extras and the kitchen is always available for making your own tea and snacks - another cost saver. Shops to buy provisions and take aways are also just down the street. I was there in winter and was very grateful for the heating in my room as well as the plentiful supply of hot water. The convenient situation of the hotel another of the plus features. The tube station (Zone 1) and bus stop are almost on the doorstep. The only thing to be mindful of is that it is an old London house so you must be fit enough to do up and down the stairs. So, as a base for a sight seeing holiday in London, I would definitely recommend this hotel to you.

We stayed at the Windsor House for a week. For the most part, we got exactly what we expected...small rooms w/ plain bedding and a tiny bathroom. The front desk staff was nice, though we never met the "innkeeper". When we inquired about her, we were told she is rarely on property. Our only complaint about this property was that the website and correspondence from staff indicated a "full English Breakfast". It turned out that breakfast consisted of toast and a hard-boiled egg. There was no variety in the breakfast and we actually saw the staff "reboil" eggs for the next guests coming in. We were highly disappointed with the breakfast.
