My husband and I stayed 3 nights at the Turret House and we enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the Vagabond room which has a king bed and private bath. We slept well, enjoyed the continental breakfast that was included, and enjoyed the central location which was close to everything we needed. I appreciated the uniqueness of the establishment. It is a B&B, and all that it entails as a Victorian home full of eclectic furnishings and environment. It is more of home away from home feel as opposed to a sterile hotel. You have full access to the kitchen to use when needed and they provide free soft drinks, beers and wine that is available at all hours. The rooms are upstairs and the downstairs living area is comfy and the best part is that the lights are left on all night with low music playing. You feel like you are being welcomed home even when you arrive late at night. Thank you Jeff and Brian for your terrific hospitality! We will be back! Dave and Yolanda Bulthuis

I had to stay in long beach for a job interview, and was looking for a reasonably prices place to stay that offered parking. I found the turret house inn and booked it due to good reviews and a rate lower than any of the motels in the area. I was very pleasantly surprised with what I found when I got there. Parking was free, one of the owners of the establishment met me at the door despite the late hour and carried my horrifically heavy suitcase to the room. The downstairs lobby and sitting rooms were decorated with fun themes and had lots of books and games for anyone looking for something to do. The room itself was eccentric and charming (vagabond room) and had a cute little bathroom and shower of it's own. There were all sorts of conveniences in my room. Shampoos and soaps, a heater, TV and remote, plenty of clean towels. The best part was the open refrigerator, stocked with natty light, Shasta cola, and wine so that I could have a little refreshment before going to bed without having to leave the house! I had to skip breakfast because I had an early meeting and it wasn't supposed to start until eight, but I suppose I could have requested an early breakfast if I had really wanted to. Overall great value experience - absolutely worth every penny and the best option of all the inns and motels/hotels at that price range!

Beautiful house. The photos don't do it justice. The continental breakfast was terrific and Brian was very hospitable and a great host. The house is centrally located to restaurants, shopping and night life. The rooms were very clean and cozy. We look forward to coming back next year. Complimentary wine and beer was a major perk. This is a hassle free and convenient place to stay - much better than a motel for the price range. It worked well for me to arrive late and, unfortunately, leave early (change of sailing plans). The owners are persable and accommodating.

Stayed here for 2 nights in May -- Brian and Jeff are both welcoming and very helpful in getting you oriented. Place is funkily decorated, loads of books and magazines out for you to read. Very nice touch for late evening arrival is beer and wine out for guests to help themselves. Very adequate "help yourself" breakfast. Location is within easy walk of beach, restaurants and shopping.

We were leaving out of Long Beach airport the next morning, so i booked the Turret House for it's location. It is obvious that the owners have traveled a lot because there were a lot of little details in the room and in their service that made a big difference. They left directions to the airport for me with my check-in paperwork which was waiting for me when i got there, taped to the banister. There were refreshments in the refrigerator (wine, beer, juice, soft drinks) which we were told to help ourselves to. We were leaving early the next morning (5:30 AM), so they told us to help ourselves to the breakfast that they normally set out later in the morning. The whole house is open for guests to use, so it feels very comfortable.

I travel up to the San Pedro area regularly and have been searching for a place that can be my "regular" place to stay. I am so happy to say that I have found it! Brian was awesome! Very welcoming, helpful and it was so nice to be staying in a warm, cozy environment. They are within walking distance of downtown as long as you don't mind walking a bit! Their fully stocked beverage fridge and their healthy breakfast were unexpected add-ons that made the stay even more economical.

This was our first b&b experience and I could not have imagined a better one! Brian and Jeff have went out of their way to wrap their guests in comfortable luxury. It is the smallest touches that are seen throughout the house that makes this inn one that you have to see to believe. With the exception of the other guest rooms, the whole house is open to be explored. The history of the house, town, and era that it was built in surrounds you from the first moment you enter the house. The hosts have made it feel like home. I wish I was still there! You get an A++ from us!
