My wife and I arrived in Buenos Aires to start our 5 month tour of South America. We decided that we needed a little comfort to begin our trip with so after much browsing of the web we decided on La Otra Orilla. We weren't disappointed. The hotel is located a few blocks away from Palermo Soho which is quite a trendy area with lots of nice bars and restaurants. We had originally booked for two nights but were enjoying our stay so much we booked an extra three! Our first room was lovely - a balcony overlooking the street outside, very clean with cable TV and an en suite bathroom. There is a beautiful outside courtyard area and a communal breakfast room which acts as a great meeting place for travellers to exchange tales of their adventures. My wife and I are in our thirties and appreciated the calm and quiet of this hotel. I would recommend this as a great starting place for any trip to ease you in gently before attempting any of the more economical (and noisier) hostels.
