My wife and I went to Americus, Ga to visit our daughter who is a nursing student at Georgia Southwestern University. My wife had never stayed in a bed & Breakfast before so we decided to try it out. 1906 Pathway Inn is an historical building in Americus, Ga. with six rooms. The building is beautiful and has a great deal of southern character. It was just fun to look through the rooms. The owners, Mr. and Mrs. Nolan, were as cordial as could be. They took time to explain the history of the building and many other parts of town. You feel like your in someone's home so they put us at ease. Its not just staying at a hotel. Its an experience. The Breakfast was a two course meal with fruit and then pancakes or eggs with thick bacon and locally made sausage. Delicious. The table setting is formal with napkin rings and good china but you are not intimidated at all. Coffee, tea, soft drinks, cookies, etc. are available 24 hours. We had cocktails in the living room which was elegant. The Nolans were gratious hosts and overall, the experience was one we will remember for a long time. When we return to visit our daughter we will stay at the 1906 Pathway Inn. Thanks for a great time.

This is only our second stay at a B&B and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We felt very welcome and enjoyed the company of others (regulars) that were staying at the inn. The location is ideal if you enjoy exploring historic towns. The Pathway is in the center of the historic section of Americus. We're planning on returning to the Inn so we can spend a couple of days exploring the area around the Inn.

Photo Album

The Bell room is situated on the first floor overlooking the garden giving it one of the best views in the house. Decorated in shades of aqua and burgundy, and featuring a beautiful hand painted ceiling, it's easy to see why our guests fall in love with this rooms elegance. The king size bed has an ornate wooden headboard and the antique furnishings and comfortable sofa with matching wing back chair all add to the room's atmosphere of quiet comfort. The private bathroom is equipped with a whirlpool tub just waiting to dissolve all your cares away. The Carter room, our largest room, was named for Former US President Jimmy Carter, who lives in neighboring Plains. Decorated in green and burgundy and featuring a four-poster king size bed, that is quite possibly the most comfortable bed you will find outside of your home and will soon lull you into blissful sleep. The only thing needed to complete your perfect stay is the large private bathroom with its whirlpool bath, light the candles, lie back and let the tub soak away the stress of the day.
When you enter this room you will soon see why it is such a firm favorite with honeymooners and anniversary couples. Decorated in pale green and rose with ruffled lace curtains and featuring an ornate fireplace with a gas log fire that will cast flickering shadows across your ceiling while wafting you and your loved one into blissful dreams. This room also has access to a large private balcony just perfect for sipping some wine in the early evening or to relax in one of the wicker chairs after soaking in your whirlpool tub. A truly delightful experience awaits you, every morning, in our elegant dining room. For this is where you will be enticed by such delightful aromas as sausage soufflé, fresh strawberry and cream cheese stuffed French toast, home baked muffins and breads and freshly ground coffee. Our sumptuous candlelight breakfasts are served on fine china and crystal, and are both a gourmet delight and a perfect culmination to your stay with us.
