We arrived in Buenos Aires on June 26 2009, not knowing what to expect.It was our first trip to South America. Valeria and Jorge were our first contact and we stayed with them for 6 days. We had established an e mail correspondance with Valeria: which helped us organise the beginning of our trip.Valeria's and Jorge's welcome was very warm and they made us feel part of their family.We felt free to ask for information and assistance and Valeria was always jovial and efficient. Their bed and breakfast is situated in Belgrano: a very lively and safe neighborhood which is connected to the rest of the town by bus and metro. Tango bed and breakfast is a friendly place decorated with beautiful pictures painted by Jorge who is an artist and this created an special atmosphere.The price was quite reasonable. Our stay at Tango Bed and Breakfast was between 12/25/08 to 1/1/09 We have stayed in a lot of places in the world but it was one of the best bed and breakfast we stayed in. Valeria was more than helpful before we even arrived.We communicated several times via email.She answered any and all our questions. Valeria and Jorge were very helpful,and went above and beyond to make our stay both comfortable and enjoyable. Immediately upon arriving,they were there to greet us and made us feel as though we know them for many years.As it was an holiday, Valeria took us with her car to see Buenos Aires. She made reservations for us whenever we needed them,and always told us to call if we had any problems. Valeria and Jorge are fabulous couple and delightfull hosts. We were very sad to leave,as we felt we were leaving our Argentinian family. We had the best time staying at Tango Bed and Breakfast and wouldn't think anywhere else on our next visit to Buenos Aires. Edna and Israel , New York

My wife and I stayed three times at Tango B&B. The first time was at the end of 2003, then in Sept. 2006 and the last one May 08. Tango B&B is a very interesting place, cozy and clean. Its hosts do make the difference. Jorge and Valeria are very friendly and they do go out of their way to help. The place “breathes” art. Jorge runs an art studio within the B&B. Valeria is fluent in English and Italian. Jorge and Valeria are true “Porteños” with an intimate knowledge of the city and provide great advice for visiting places that are not the commonly known touristy ones, which is quite invaluable. And don't forget to ask Jorge for an asado (the Argentinean barbecue). He does know about gourmet cooking and wines. Finally, Tango B&B is in Belgrano, a very interesting neighborhood with a number of good and different kind of restaurants cafes, high quality shopping stores and the B&B is within 3 blocks from the subway station which takes you downtown within minutes. First of all I should come clean and tell you that I stay at the Tango Bed & Breakfast every time I come to Buenos Aires. I first stayed here in 2005 and have returned at least once a year ever since. The Tango has become like a second home to me, and for good reason: it is a friendly, helpful, clean and welcoming small B&B in the midst of one of the most interesting neighborhoods in South America´s most cosmopolitan city. If you want a big luxurious hotel room, then don´t stay here. But if you want to meet real Porteños and learn about the city and the country then this is a great - and inexpensive - place to stay. The breakfast is the best I´ve had in South America. At the Tango you´ll find yogurt, ham, cheese, fresh bread, jams and marmelades, media lunas (half moon-shaped croissants basted with honey), fresh fruit, coffee and tea and bread pudding made by the hosts. No one has ever left the table at Tango B&B hungry. The rooms and bathrooms are spotlessly clean and the staff are friendly, helpful, kind people who take a real interest in the well-being of their guests. Hospitality, graciousness and good humor of the owners and staff.They arrange taxis, patiently explain how to use the subway and bus system and show you on the wall-sized map how to find your way about this huge metropolis. Just a quick word on the barrio Belgrano where the Tango is located. It is a fascinating place with easy access to all parts of the city through the subway system. If you stay long enough you´ll find yourself immersed in the neighborhood, learning much more about how people live in Buneos Aires than you´ll ever discover in the tourist areas. And the shops, restaurants and cafes along Avenida Cabildo are spectacular. Oh, and if you´re serious about tango they´ll even arrange for dance lessons in their own private studio! I sought this B&B after some trouble with accommodations for a family wedding. The Tango staff was extremely warm, cordial, fun, and helpful. I had never been to BA, and they made my stay unforgettable. The food was great--much more than one would expect for such an incredibly reasonably priced stay, during the height of the tourist season, no less! I would recommend them to all. Not super close to many of the BA main attractions, but all is about a $5 (American) cab ride or underground ride away.

The description of the B&B doesn't do it enough justice... The owners are a wonderful couple who give you the history, hot spots and real culture of Argentina. Its beautifully tucked in the hip part of Belgrano and perfectly positioned near all sorts of restaraunts, main streets and close to subway if needed. Jorge and Valeria were great and if you cant reach them by phone, keep trying...they are always working around the house. Residence was very clean, inviting and comfortable...can't beat it no where. Cooking classes might be given if you ask. WONDERFUL PLACE....WONDERFUL PEOPLE!!!!
