We shared our First Wedding Anniversary with Nick & Eddy at Sandy Hook Cottage. As hosts, Nick & Eddy are unmatched in this business. They are attentive and thoughtful, informative and educational, and most of all--friendly. The rooms at SHC are gorgeously appointed and scrupulously clean. And the Highlands area in general is perfect for the beach goer as well as those of us who enjoy a great meal--lots of great restaurants close by to chose from...overall, an A+++ on all accounts for SHC!

Met Nick, who was very nice about my getting off at the wrong ferry stop and being an hour late for check in. (Sorry!) I had never been to the area before, and he had a wealth of info about beaches, sightseeing, etc. My boyfriend and I brought our bikes and had no problem getting around by bike to all the beaches and historical sites in the area. it"s ellis, thank you nick for such a short notice 30 year anniversary get away for me & barbara she was totally surprised and very pleased and so am i still & today is wendsday.i called nick on wendsday last week & he told me it"s a 2-day stay but he said if he could get somebody to stay a saturday night i could have friday night for our anniversary, nick called me back thursday evening and said he had sombody to book for sat night did i still want to make reservations, i said yes thank you nick. me & my wife showed up around 8:00pm saturday my wife had no clue to where we were going she thought we were going for dinner the cottage was perfect i also ordered flowers & champange & chockalate covered cherries & an cheese & fruit basket . we meet eddy at the door at 8:00 they ordered everything for me every thing was picture perfect when he opened the door for us we went for dinner later because it was so late & we came back to the cottage went into the jacuzzi before we went to bed it was great ,we got up at 7:00am the next morning & had breakfast there very good verity nick & eddy my wife liked the strawberries, we went driving around till the twin light opened i am afraid of hights though but i went to the top of the light house anyway it was cool. and then my wife wanted to go to sandy hook on the weekend they had bunker tours of the gunnery towers i am so amazed after fifty years of going there i bever had the chance to go there either had my wife total amazement ,and she toook me to the sandy hook light which is the oldest lighthouse in the united states we went all the ways up to the light oh my god thank nick & eddy for a experience we will never forget. eiils

I've never been a great fan of Jersey Shore accommodations - most are in seedy neighborhoods, not well maintained and the only culinary options nearby are fast food joints. Sandy Hook Cottage is the EXCEPTION. This bed & breakfast is close to the beach AND within walking distance to several outstanding restaurants (ask the owners, Nick & Eddy, to recommend their favorite choices). The B & B is charming, well-appointed and they provide an awesome breakfast buffet! (Can you tell that good food matters to me :-) They have bike rentals too so you can work off the huge meal riding to the beach and then kick back for a relaxing soak in the jacuzzi. Sweeeet!! Nick & Eddy are very accommodating and they also respect your privacy (ie, no "hovering"). It's refreshing to stay at place where you are given free reign throughout the home, provided that you respect their house rules. We loved our stay there and you will to!

This charming B&B exudes warmth and trust. The breakfast room is complimented by a large expanse of windows showcasing your view of beautiful Sandy Hook Bay and the Atlantic. One step and you are on the patio sitting comfortably under an umbrella at your own table for two. Take a few steps along the stone path, open the gate and although the view remains the same, it is enhanced by a weather worn fence and lush foliage. Lounge dreamily in the hot tub and melt away. Although the property entertains 4 guest rooms, each with its own highlights and amenities, privacy is never an issue. Hosts Nick and Eddy are always available whether by phone or in person to assist you. They have an inate ability to know if you simply want to nod you head in passing or share a cup of coffee and shoot the breeze. This B&B is in walking distance to several quite enjoyable restaurants in the quaint seaside town of the Highlands. Sand Hook National recreation area is a stone's throw away and beach passes are provided. I have been fortunate enough to enjoy the Cottage several times and have never been disappointed. This is a great little spot because from the street you do not expect such a quaint spot. The jacuzzi is just heaven. We could have stayed in there all night long. The view was so relaxing and the 2 hosts are considerate and sincere. We will return to our newest getaway in NJ. Thanks

Could not believe just an hour outside manhattan could feel like anywhere in the country other than the metro area. OUr hosts really know how to make u feel at home and make the most of even two days away fron the NYC grind. Highly reccomend the cabana if you really want to feel like you've left the world behind.

Absolutely gorgeous home with beautiful accomodations. Ocean view and we had our own private balcony. Continental breakfast with so many choices. Felt safe, comfortable and was able to really relax. Stayed for 2 nights in the Twin Lights Room.

We have been coming to Sandy Hook Cottage for more than 5 years. The house is beautiful, inviting and warm. The hosts are more than hosts--they quickly become friends. The dining in town is great (especially Bay Avenue Trattoria). And the beaches of Sandy Hook are wonderful. The rooms are a bit pricey, but for the service, breakfast and convenience to the beach--it's well worth it.

This was my second stay here. I have a lot of special memories from Sandy Hook while growing up in NJ so I won't stay just anyplace. I prefer to stay at B&B's and have been to many, but I can say this B&B is a one-of-a-kind, beautiful place and the hosts are very generous. I'll certainly come back again.

Great fun details in every room..impecabbly clean.wonderful beds..invisible hosts who show up to make the best breakfasts..today it was wild blueberry bread pudding steaming in the oven when we headed back from the hot tub, and after we dressed and packed, it was on a cake turrine waiting for us! My daughter and I stayed at this B&B at the very last minute after other accomodations proved to be disastrous. Eddy & Nick made us feel very much at home, and made our stay absolutely delightful! They were very warm and accomodating - just the perfect hosts! We stayed in the cabana, and it was just fantastic! The attention to detail was beyond our expectations. I just can't articulate how wonderful this B&B is! We will definitely be back!

This was our first stay at the Sandy Hook Cottage Bed and Breakfast and we were blown away. Nick and Eddy have poured their hearts into every aspect of this B&B to make it absolutely perfect. Their attention to the smallest detail rivals the finer New York hotels where we usually stay. We did not expect this from a bed and breakfast at the beach. What a delightfully, unexpected find. I am afraid the cat's out of the bag and they will be booked up for a year in advance now - like Nobu. Oh well, that's what you get for doing a great job, Guys. Cheers!
