My husband and I recently celebrated our Anniversary at the Wallingford Victorian Bed and Breakfast. We have been married 16 yrs and have never stayed at a B&B before. It's a luxury to sneek away for some quiet time together, and honestly we were never tempted to be in a community setting for our 'alone' time. However, we were pleasantly surprised with every aspect of our trip! The Inn is absolutely charming and simply beautiful. We stayed in the Samuel Suite and it was spacious, had a private entrance to the Inn, and the best part was that it was very close to the Dining Room. When I researched which B&B to book I had come across this Inn and was impressed with the reviews of Dave and Becky. Well, the Inn has new owners, Brenda and Jeff, and we were one of their first new guests. We would give them both 5 star reviews! They were great hosts and went the extra mile to make our first experience at a B&B very memorable. My husband is a breakfast lover and he was overwhelmed at the lovely breakfast. Brenda even made him pancakes which was not an item on the breakfast menu. The town is such a charming town and it is like stepping back in time to old New England. We walked the town and then enjoyed a massage at a local spa (Body and Soul) and it was worth every penny! We will definately be going back in the future, and now consider Brenda and Jeff not just Inn Keepers but also new friends. Praying for God to bless their family and this new endeavor.

Everyone that I asked said " Stay at the Holiday Inn". I didnt want to stay in a place like that if I could help it. I wanted something different, something more exciting. My friend and I both love old houses and architecture, so the Victorian seemed perfect. The pricing seemed comparable to the Holiday Inn, so we went for the Victorian. I am not the best with directions, so I called before I left my house to double-check where I was headed. Becky, the innkeeper, was warm and extremely helpful and gave me perfect directions to the house, saying to call at any time. When we arrived, the place was even prettier than in the pictures! It was just gorgeous. Becky was warm and friendly and the room was just beautiful. The bed was super-comfy, with the softest sheets I'd ever felt! The room was very spacious, with a living area with couches and chairs and a big TV, and the bedroom had french doors that went out to its own little porch area where you could sit and relax. The shower was heavenly, and everything was very clean. There were lots of towels, soaps, etc. It even had a bathtub to soak in. We didnt get up early enough for breakfast, but the menu looked good and the dining area was gorgeous. We went to a concert not far away, and Becky gave us printed out directions to the place, which also included the phone number, once again saying that we could call at any time. The location was great too, since the main street was a short walk to enjoy the night-life as we did some bar-hopping and walked around town. There is a wonderful old cemetery nearby also, if you enjoy historical sites. Dave, becky's husband, was alos wonderful and gave us perfect directions home. The lighting was also phenominal as it showed off the stained glass...just a beautiful and a very comfortable place to stay. Thanks!

My room had an exquisite bathroom as well as a balcony with french doors - great for fresh air! A few degrees cooler and I would have loved to use the fireplace. Next time I will schedule my meetings for later so I can enjoy the breakfast. Princess, my dog, was also a welcomed guest!

This was the perfect B&B for a quiet weekend getaway. The room was clean and spacious, and the hot tub was a wonderful romantic amenity on a cold weekend. The best part was the hot breakfast the next morning when Becky & Dave Barrett chatted with us, who were very nice company. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful time here -- highlights were breakfast and Becky's advice and conversation. Wonderful hot breakfast - personal choices, with an additional surprise dish each morning; quite tasty. Becky was extremely helpful about area attractions and restaurants, and a lovely conversation companion in the morning. Great location - in town, but quiet nonetheless. Nicely decorated and clean accomodations. No complaints at all. We would certainly recommend it to a friend.

The innkeepers of this lovely Victorian get-a-way were gracious, warm and made us feel at home immediately upon our arrival. The Margaret room was spotless and had a wonderful old time feel with a beautiful bathroom, including a large whirlpool bath. The morning of our departure, Becky greeted us in the formal dining room for breakfast. The table was elegantly set with a lace tablecloth, an antique coffee urn, candles lit and the morning sun shinning through the alcove. We had a full hot breakfast, including Becky's homemade maple muffins. After breakfast, she took us on a tour, which included the seeing the inside of the awesome turret. The experience was more than we expected and we are hoping to return for a second stay.
