Our hosts, Pete and Janice, were so gracious and friendly. Their home is beautiful, with a very large wrap-around porch across the back that looked our at the mountains. there were plenty of rockers to sit on and look at the beautiful fall colors. Our room was very large with the only private entrance to the porch. One only problem, there were used bars of soap in the bath and no place to store toiletries since the drawers were full of personal items.

With the rolling Blue Ridge Mts leafy and almost as welcoming as the Bullocks whose Bed andBreakfast I stayed in. Unfortunately, we were only able to stay one night, but it was so relaxing and enjoyable. Pete and Jeanie were wonderful hosts and the breakfast was delicious. At night, there is a skunk called "Sammy" who comes and dines on table scraps in the yard. Sitting on the back porch during sunset and talking to the other guests was so relaxing and enjoyable. We also enjoyed getting to know the other people who were staying there. It really feels like you're visiting family and it's a great alternative to staying in a motel. Nearby, there are so many things to do including waterfalls, state parks, mountain trails, river tubing, festivals, antique stores, and wineries.

My husband and I have stayed at many beautiful inns around the country, but Highland Falls, or as we call it, "Pete and Jeanie's", is by far our favorite! We live in Atlanta so it's close enough for frequent weekend getaways. It's a beautiful place in a beautiful setting but the biggest draw are the innkeepers themselves.
