The Camano Blossom is hands down the best experience we've ever had at a B&B. Melissa is an incredibly warm and welcoming hostess; she makes you feel like you're at home. The place is a huge, friendly farmhouse-style building with a wraparound porch surrounded by a vegetable and flower garden. The bedrooms are on the second floor, and are decorated in Victorian style. One bath has a clawfoot tub, while the others have showers. Downstairs living areas have an asian influence. Melissa's cooking is where the Camano Blossom stands alone.
At breakfast, the other guests and us (7 in all) were seated at the same table. We started with fresh fruit; including fresh strawberries and raspberries from the garden. Fried taro cakes followed, then there was "bacon and egg rolls"--I can't really describe the "egg roll", only that they aren't fried and there were eggs involved--and if I knew how to cook them, I'd be rich. She happily adjusted the menu for dietary restrictions.
Other breakfasts included Congee (a traditional Chinese porridge), pot stickers and noodles, Chinese onion pancakes, and even a shrimp dish. She even made us a simple noodle and swiss chard (grown in her garden) lunch to take with us on the road. It was wonderful.
If you have the time, I heard from other guests that she likes to give cooking lessons, and they are a fun way to spend an afternoon. We couldn't because of family obligations, but I'd like to go back and try it.
A few other notes on the property: Melissa has two small dogs (Shih Tzus). They are well trained and friendly; they are NEVER allowed anywhere on the second floor so guests with allergies need have no worry that they are in the bedrooms. They are completely unobtrusive unless you seek them out. Oh, and WiFi is available; free and easy to connect.
Another guest compared it to staying at a favorite aunt's house, and we are delighted to agree. View Reviewer Info

Summer of 2007, my mother-in-law & I did a bit of island hopping and treated ourselves to a night at the Camano Blossom. As we were scheduled to be touring most of the day, we knew we would not want to go hunting up a place to have dinner, so I scheduled a Asian Cooking Class/Dinner with Melissa Mei, the hostess. It was great to arrive, unpack, take a nap, & show up for a well-prepared, delicous evening in the
Camano Blossom kitchen. Summer 2008, my husband & son & I were traveling back from Canada to Seattle & decide to stay at the Camano Blossom. We did not give Melissa enough notice to set-up a cooking class. However, we had a great nights rest in the comfy rooms and a specatacular breakfast that my son still talks about. Everyone insists that I try to work in a trip to The Camano Blossom on our 2009 trip to Washington...the guys want to do a cooking class too! Melba View Reviewer Info
