The key words are Location/Location/Location. Even in mid-winter it's easy to get to an amazing variety of restaurants.... not to mention the historic Ohio City neighborhood itself. That's worth the trip. And transportation into downtown is right down the street. Having an apartment-sized setup is a real pleasure when you don't want to be out and about (especially in the snow).

Glendennis is a beautiful, historic B&B located in a lovely neighborhood very close to downtown Cleveland. Both Emily and David Dennis were extremely friendly and helpful with Cleveland info and directions. Glendennis is a large, private three room suite on the second and third floor, including a private tree shaded porch where we ate breakfast, private entrance, and garage space. I highly recommend it as a peaceful Cleveland getaway!

We stayed here for one night with our four year old daughter as we were traveling through Ohio. A wonderful bed and breakfast in the middle of the city. There are 27 amazing restaurants within walking distance of the B & B. I am a strict vegetarian and that was no problem. We ate a big breakfast before getting on the road again. The suite is on the 3rd floor, and the private bathroom is on the 2nd floor. They are pretty steep and narrow stairs to the 3rd floor and it is not handicapped accessable if anyone needs that! Overall, it was an excellent place! I highly recommend it and we will stay there

Ever since my travels abroad, I've felt that many American's hold a growing distrust in their neighbors and visitors. This can be seen through the sterile, keycard-activated rooms you find in many hotels and guesthouses these days. Glendennis is quite the contrary. It was extremely refreshing to be at Glendennis, where you are welcomed more as a long-lost relative than a stranger. The living space is like a Parisian flat and the morning breakfast follows the ambiance perfectly (crepes with strawberries hand-picked not more than an hour before). I only wish I could stayed longer and have shared it with my girlfriend.

Their cozy and beautiful home truly felt like our home away from home for the week. With our infant daughter, we know a hotel just wouldn't cut it. Their B & B surely exceeded our expectations as our home base for exploring Cleveland. This B & B is truly unique. We loved having the extra amenities upstairs with us - fresh coffee immediately when we awoke, cold, filtered water, a 'fridge to store our food, and a cozy living room to read stories and play with our baby. The suite includes a fabulous library of children's books, fiction, humor, Cleveland history, philosophy, antique books, and just about anything else you would like to peruse. We also loved the armada of rubber ducks. Last, but surely not least, breakfast was always tasty and wonderful, not to mention healthy. It is so nice to stay in a place that matches many of our own values for the environment and people. We will be sure to stay there again if we are ever in Cleveland and we highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

This was a wonderful getaway. The breakfast were delicious, the sightseeing recommendations were excellant (the only problem was the limited time ... just can't eat at every great restaurant), and the accomodations were cozy, comfortable with thoughtful attention to detail. Their hospitatility is very appreciated and we are glad we chose to stay there.

The innkeepers at Glendennis are lovely people, charming, and courteous, but keep in mind that this inn is also their home. The guest suite is on the third floor, and the flight of stairs from the 2nd to the 3rd levels is sturdy but steep and not the easiest to navigate if you have any mobility issues or are carrying large/heavy luggage. The home is beautiful and clean. Breakfasts are served at an agreed upon time, and are tasty and nutritious. The "suite," as mentioned previously does have ample space...however, there is not a door to shut it off at the top of the stairway, so you kind-of feel open to the other noises (very few) of the house, and if you are a newlywed couple (or a frisky long-wed couple) you might find it does not afford the sound insulation you desire. The bathroom is on the second floor of the home, so if you need to use it in the middle of the night, you again have to negotiate the steep stairway...and the bathroom (with louvered doors) is off of a common area where the family uses the computer, so you may find it is not the level of privacy you are accustomed to. The neighborhood is lovely, "Ohio City," and you will find plenty of tasty food nearby within walking distance...as well as the West Side Market and The Great Lakes Brewing Company. You could spend an entire weekend just exploring this neighborhood and its food! The innkeepers, as previously mentioned, are very nice and offer wonderful advice on places to dine/visit in the area. Overall, a good value and location, and excellent for hospitality...just know what to expect.

Innkeeper Response
We appreciate the reviewers overall positive review but we are disappointed in some of the comments. Firstly, we are surprised that he does not realize that the owner of the bed and breakfast usually lives on the premises. This is the situation at most of the B&B's we have stayed at. This is especially the norm in Europe. Secondly, the suite occupies the complete third floor of the house. The staircase is at the back and the bedroom is at the front. Our portion of the house is separated by two staircases and a door before you even enter the suite. In seven years of operation we have never had a complaint about lack of privacy. We also have never overheard any "frisky" couples, newlywed or long-wed. The privacy and sound insulation are much better than what you would find in a hotel. Thirdly, as a rule we do not use the office or computer when guests are in the suite, and the office and computer are now being moved totally away from the B&B portion of the house. Lastly, I don't understand why the reviewer rated the rooms "below average". His review does not justify that rating, the rooms are spacious and well appointed.
