This is the most unprofessional couple running this place, constantly bickering and yelling at each other. I was tempted to call child protective services, they have a 3 year old child that was constantly crying because of their fighting.

I enjoyed my stay at the B and B a great deal, the place is really cute and owner Johanna is a real sweetheart. I plan on staying there anytime I am visiting the city, plus the neighborhood feels like a safe small town yet you are a hop, skip and jump from Manhattan....

great location, clean and quiet; I would not pay much attention to that other review, as my experience was excellent. I was there in the middle of February, 2007. The owner was available and helpful, room was comfortable and warm. No complaints -

This should be your last resort of the many excellent choices posted here at BedandBreakfast.com! The property had a lack of paint and staircases were creaky; it was dirty, and there was a lack of maintenance. The innkeeper did not introduce herself or welcome us by any name at ANY time during our stay. She was missing at the time we agreed to meet to finalize bill, and still missing the morning we checked out, so we had to leave without meeting with her. She did not tell us where or when we may be able to find her if a need arose. Breakfast consisted of stale cereal, bread, grapefruit juice some days, others, no juice; similarly coffee was made for breakfast some days but not others. The beds were VERY noisy (each of them!), and almost unsleepable. It got quite cold at night, but warmed during the day. The bathrooms were: VERY dirty for the first two days, but got cleaned on the third. Towels may or may not have been available, so we kept ours in our room. The other guests were wonderful. The house has an excellent location, and we had no issues in the neighborhood at all.

Innkeeper Response
Here at the Union Street Bed and Breakfast our ultimate goal is customer satisfaction. We are very proud of our 110 year old Victorian brownstone and we strive to maintain is antique charms. Everyday we work hard towards this end and we find our work is rewarded by the many happy guests who depart our B&B and return. Sadly, we cannot please every customer every-time, but we do our best to make everybody happy. This particular customer complains of not being greeted by me. This is true as I was away, but guests were greeted by my long term, experienced, and competent staff. During this particular period, my other guests were happy, I have received two separate thank you notes as evidence to this. Our staff member, Vincent, who was onsite during the period in question, recalled having a long detailed conversation with this guest regarding his grievances. I am assured by Vincent that not only did they see this party several times during their stay, but their particular complaint regarding heat was addressed immediately. No other complaints were communicated including those mentioned in the above review. The second morning of their stay, Vincent approached the unhappy party in regards to their comfort and they responded their second night was better. During this time I had three staff members onsite daily, the bathrooms were serviced daily, and the continental breakfast service was fresh and available from 7:30 - 10 as usual. Other guests were present during the time of complaint, and later vocalized to Vincent they didn't share these complaints. We encourage everyone to view our website and call or email us with any questions.
